Yes, I know. That's why I asked. [emoji3]
How did you flash the kernel? Via fastboot or custom recovery?

I used both methods, first tried with philz and not start to see that I used fastboot

After you flashed the kernel using fastboot, did you then boot into the included recovery and flash the entire zip? That's the usual procedure for flashing a custom kernel, as there are usually files needed for compatibility in the zip.
I just checked the kernel thread and it looks like v25 has been released, so perhaps try that also. ?

Deodexed generic 10.3.A.0.423

hi, can anyone post the Deodexed generic 10.3.A.0.423 for Z?
Surprisingly, i cant find any deodexed for Z with LOCKED bootloader.
I can only find a rom for unlocked bootloaders.

It states it's only for unlocked bootloaders but seeing as it's a zip I'd be tempted to just flash it.

According to the rom thread, it contains DooMLoRD's Advance Stock Kernel v7 which is for unlocked bootloaders only (unless I'm missing something).
DooMLoRD's thread for the kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167381
So, if the above is true, flashing that rom to a device with a locked bootloader would result in a soft brick.

Ah yes, I didn't read it right. I guess until someone uploads one the easiest method is to try what's posted at the second link you've provided.

Afff... I haven't had to revert to stock kernel yet, but it's weird that it won't boot.
I think I need some tip here too

I see people succeed in reverting back to stock through beta 4 but i can't. I have no idea why too but guess I have to stick with beta 4/5 for a while.

Are you serious?? Flashing stock 4.3 using odin

What else do you flash with ???
Let's say that 4.3 update has knox bootloader and not everyone wants to void their warranty by updating theirs.
Hmm.. It is also possible to flash only kernel by MobileOdin, I am curious whether it will boot then...

Alright thanks. But I think it could be rom problem since nobody reported.

In fact some guys reported on this. And I am not able to flash stock kernel from mine ported boeffla either.
However I don't need stock kernel for anything, therefore it isn't the most important issue

Hmm agree. But it seems 4.3 is draining more battery than 4.1.2 IMO.

[SOLVED] Struggling to get into recovery

So my bootloader is unlocked and my device rooted, trouble is every recovery I flash doesn't want to boot. I'm on the three branded 257 firmware, is there anything I can use or do I need to upgrade to a newer one?

There's your problem.

flash the kernel of .423 then root with doomlords rootkit v18 then flash kernel of .569.
kernel .423 and V18 rootkit can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405

If you don't want to unlock your bootloader, you will have to downgrade to root. Find a stock 4.2.2 ftf in the general section and flash it with Flashtool. You will probably have to wipe data to prevent a bootloop when downgrading.

This will not work, as 4.3 will not boot with a 4.2.2 kernel.

Ops, I meant he should get a 4.2 then flash 423 then back to 4.2 kernel lol. Then find a room that's 4.3 and flash that.

Possibilityes for Pure Android 4.4 for LB

Hello all. I am wonder if i port CM11 to our XZ1 with Stock Sony Kernal. Would it still work or not boot up at all. I am trying to see if i can help somepeople with LB. As i can not unlock mine
Thanks
-JPH ~Connor~
You can try to flash CM11 excluding Kernel, leave Stock kernel intact, or flash CM11 excluding kernel and then flash Stock kernel from flashtool, and see if it boot up, but I doubt.
If it not, In this scenario, as you didn't flash custom kernel, just reflash stock Rom and you are fine again and you phone should boot.
It will not work

Yes, the bootloader will not boot an unsigned kernel.
