So my bootloader is unlocked and my device rooted, trouble is every recovery I flash doesn't want to boot. I'm on the three branded 257 firmware, is there anything I can use or do I need to upgrade to a newer one?

hi, can anyone post the Deodexed generic 10.3.A.0.423 for Z?
Surprisingly, i cant find any deodexed for Z with LOCKED bootloader.
I can only find a rom for unlocked bootloaders.

It states it's only for unlocked bootloaders but seeing as it's a zip I'd be tempted to just flash it.

According to the rom thread, it contains DooMLoRD's Advance Stock Kernel v7 which is for unlocked bootloaders only (unless I'm missing something).
DooMLoRD's thread for the kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167381
So, if the above is true, flashing that rom to a device with a locked bootloader would result in a soft brick.

Ah yes, I didn't read it right. I guess until someone uploads one the easiest method is to try what's posted at the second link you've provided.

I maybe wrong from all the treads I have read. Is there a way to root and unlock bootloader on t mobile yet with latest firmware and updates
If you mean the C6606, then the bootloader is permanently locked. There is no method to bypass that.

Yes thats the one im talking about.....bummer. that means no root either!?
Yes, you can root. If you're on a 4.2 firmware, then this should work - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
If you're on 4.3, then you will have to downgrade to root, then flash a prerooted rom.

Hello,
Is there a pre rooted UK generic unbranded rom to flash via flash tool on 10.4.b.0.569 (4.3)
Why a UK generic? There is no difference between UK, Italy,...
And if you flash an other pre rooted region you won't loose warranty

Nop... I use spanish version of in UK I have no issue what so ever. I would probably be concern if you are in USA , China and use EU firmware !
To actually answer the question, you won't find a prerooted stock rom in FTF format to flash with Flashtool.
Flashtool will only flash unmodified stock software in flashmode.
Here's a prerooted UK rom that can be flashed via recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590088

Thank you, so when I have finished this will I still be able to check for updates via pc companion, I don't mind if I can't actually install the updates but as long as I can check then I can flash back stock rom and update that way, can't I?
updates
To make myself clear lol can it still search for Software updates with recovery installed?
I once unlocked the bootloader with flashtool and noticed a software update on an internet page so I went on sony update service and it told me to connect in flashmode so I did then it said checking connected device then it said it can't update because the software has been modified, is this because of unlocked bootloader? I have relocked it and it could update I just wanted to know if it worked the same when recovery installed?
Yes, you should be able to check for software updates via the PC Companion. SUS gave that error because your bootloader was unlocked.
I cannot guarantee it though, as I rooted by unlocking my bootloader, therefore didn't use a prerooted rom.

one last thing (sorry to be a pain lol) but i'm on three network and they are releasing 4g soon and they will give everyone a software update so will i be able to install that and will it loose root and recovery?
You shouldn't need a software update to use 4G. The C6603 supports it out of the box.

Ahh so when they release it, my phone should switch straight to it?
I assume so. They should just add it to your service at their end.

Hello all. I am wonder if i port CM11 to our XZ1 with Stock Sony Kernal. Would it still work or not boot up at all. I am trying to see if i can help somepeople with LB. As i can not unlock mine
Thanks
-JPH ~Connor~
You can try to flash CM11 excluding Kernel, leave Stock kernel intact, or flash CM11 excluding kernel and then flash Stock kernel from flashtool, and see if it boot up, but I doubt.
If it not, In this scenario, as you didn't flash custom kernel, just reflash stock Rom and you are fine again and you phone should boot.
It will not work

Yes, I know. That's why I asked. [emoji3]
How did you flash the kernel? Via fastboot or custom recovery?

I used both methods, first tried with philz and not start to see that I used fastboot
After you flashed the kernel using fastboot, did you then boot into the included recovery and flash the entire zip? That's the usual procedure for flashing a custom kernel, as there are usually files needed for compatibility in the zip.
I just checked the kernel thread and it looks like v25 has been released, so perhaps try that also. ?
