Hello,
Is there a pre rooted UK generic unbranded rom to flash via flash tool on 10.4.b.0.569 (4.3)
Why a UK generic? There is no difference between UK, Italy,...
And if you flash an other pre rooted region you won't loose warranty

Nop... I use spanish version of in UK I have no issue what so ever. I would probably be concern if you are in USA , China and use EU firmware !
To actually answer the question, you won't find a prerooted stock rom in FTF format to flash with Flashtool.
Flashtool will only flash unmodified stock software in flashmode.
Here's a prerooted UK rom that can be flashed via recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590088

Thank you, so when I have finished this will I still be able to check for updates via pc companion, I don't mind if I can't actually install the updates but as long as I can check then I can flash back stock rom and update that way, can't I?
updates
To make myself clear lol can it still search for Software updates with recovery installed?
I once unlocked the bootloader with flashtool and noticed a software update on an internet page so I went on sony update service and it told me to connect in flashmode so I did then it said checking connected device then it said it can't update because the software has been modified, is this because of unlocked bootloader? I have relocked it and it could update I just wanted to know if it worked the same when recovery installed?
Yes, you should be able to check for software updates via the PC Companion. SUS gave that error because your bootloader was unlocked.
I cannot guarantee it though, as I rooted by unlocking my bootloader, therefore didn't use a prerooted rom.

one last thing (sorry to be a pain lol) but i'm on three network and they are releasing 4g soon and they will give everyone a software update so will i be able to install that and will it loose root and recovery?
You shouldn't need a software update to use 4G. The C6603 supports it out of the box.

I assume so. They should just add it to your service at their end.

When is it coming ? Jan the 31st ....So today ?ok Not today but weeks later http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/01/3...oming-firmware-version-9-1-a-0-489-certified/ better late then never though I wouldn't expect never for such a new phone that would be just ridiculous
Just out of interest, when an FTF file becomes available, could you then flash it with flashtool on a stock ICS locked bootloader?
Judging by past firmware updates, it's taken 2/3 months for Orange to push an update.
Yes, or you could flash the 303 generic UK and ota to current. You'll then get jelly when Sony says not ee.

I wonder how I flashed my V with its locked bootloader to Xperia VL's firmware using Flashtool, then.
All you need is matching signatures, and all similar models share them.
Yes good news

Sorry but you've got that wrong, you can use flashtool to flash an official ftf onto a phone with a locked bootloader, I've done it loads of times with my xperia's. In essence if your locked to a network orange, t-mobile ect then you can get the region generic ftf and flash it with flashtool to debrand your phone
What you can't do is flash custom ROMs which require a custom kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks for the responses guys, I thought it would be possible, the only reason I ask is that I've flashed ICS firmwares to the T in the past, but wasn't sure with it being a different version of the OS.

Please read before continuing to facepalm yourself.
Flashtool does not require your bootloader to be unlocked. It also does not even you require your phone ot be rooted.
Flashtool can be used on any xperia phone regardless. It does not require fastboot

So this is 4.1? I got the update in sony bridge, but updating means I lose my root right? (locked bootloader)
Yes when you update to different firmware you will lost the root privilege

Not always, there are ways around it. But in general yes.
Once the new firmware hits users with locked bootloaders we will see if we lose root, but then we will also find a way to root the newfirmware or find a way to update that does not lose root.
I'm on Three UK and still haven't got the new OTA of 101.A.1.434. It's a C6603 and it's rooted with a locked bootloader. I don't know if it's just my carrier being slow or what cause everyone I know who has the Z is on a different carrier... Any ideas? Even the sony pc companion says im up to date when im still on 101.A.1.350. Thanks in advance.
I'm also on three UK
Its just them being slow.

Indycar try with PC Companion or if possible with Mac bridge. Mine was updated with Mac Bridge, OTA didn't show anything before . After that you will get some application updates.
wooohooo finally update (checking every day)
Crap updated and still on 350
So my bootloader is unlocked and my device rooted, trouble is every recovery I flash doesn't want to boot. I'm on the three branded 257 firmware, is there anything I can use or do I need to upgrade to a newer one?

Hi my xperia Z1 has still not updated or given me any notifications. I connected it to PC and checked with sony PC Companion but it is still saying that my phone is updated with the latest version. What should I do?
Thank you
Matt
Which country do you live? And which provider are you on? Do you have a branded or unbranded device? Which model of Z1 do you have( for example: mine is c6903)? Is PC Companion updated to the latest version? As you can read there are many possible factors why your device hasn't got the update yet! Updates are rolled out in phases! You can decide to wait or you can update via flashtool( flash a ftf, no root needed)

Hi there and thanks for reply. To answer your questions, I happen to live in Malta in Europe, and my provider is Vodafone. The sony z1 is an original buy and branded. My model is also C6903. I will check if I happen to have the latest update of PC Companion. I actually prefer to wait some more rather than update manually. What do you recommend?

I would suggest you manual flashing, my girlfriends Z1 was same branded as mine (Polish orange), I was sick of waiting for update and flashed the global version on my own, she still didn't recieve 4.4.2 update.
I was also scared before flashing firmware, but now am cool n happy with kitkat, imma give you link to my thread about flashing it(am also total noob when comes about phones), its easy-peasy.

Hi!

You would have to downgrade to a FW which is rootable and then use the pre-rooted images to get back updated to 4.4.2.
Sadly this method implies wiping all your data on the phone.

Some, but not all, carriers have requested non unlockable bootloaders for their devices.
O2 UK do this if I remember correctly and others in different countries also.
The OP almost certainly has a device originally supplied from a network provider.
