Hi, I think that the wifi disconnect problem of GingerDX is that the file /data/misc/dhcp/dhcpcd-wlan0.lease has no "User" permission..
Someone having that problem can confirm it? just have to install a file explorer (I thinks it has to be Root Explorer), go to that file and set User permissions for Read, Write and Execute..
wifi probs is fixed! u just have to forget the network and and connect it again newly!
I tried that so many times with no luck, but when I did that the problems seems to be gone.. So I want to confirm that.. I have seen that other user have that problem too, but I can't post in development forum yet.. u.u

i looked for the file but the dhcp folder is empty. maybe thats why my wifi is not working.
My wifi also sometimes disconnects but it quickly re-connects and everything is ok. Wifi on stock 2.1 was much worse. When it disconnected i even had to restart my home router. I think it is problem with my home wifi device. Maybe yours is broken, either?
get the wifi files from freexperia project.
that file is supposed to be created automatically when you are connected to a wifi network, I deleted it and was auto-created again..
Cant connect to wifi getting stuck @obtaining ip address then x8 reboots
Hi, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to flashing phones, although I fix computers so I was a quick learner.
Anyway, I have recently flashed my Galaxy Mini with the cyanogen mod I found in the galaxy mini developers sub-forum on this very site and come across a number of problems. Some of these I have fixed using my own best judgement and others, however I'm still having trouble "cleaning" the functionality issues.
For the record can I just say, I love the mod and my thanks and congratulations go out to all the devs involved. Well done!
So, my issues so far...
wifi issues - sometimes hangs on the obtaining ip address part
Android Market - installed both old and new versions (including the download link on the cm 7 thread) - installs fine then asks to create new account, I click ok and it closes the app
Creating sync accounts in settings - gmail, hotmail etc will not add (error: Setup could not finish. Unable to open connection to server
Downloading from internet - I have constantly been clearing the data and cache of the download app and browser and after a couple more downloads I have to repeat these steps. Anybody know a permanent fix for this?
Email: also not completing user accounts registration
I have searched and searched both this site and others for solutions to no avail. I love this mod and am very impressed with the tools included and my one wish is to be able to use it to the best of its ability. When I installed the update from sd card, my installed apps were also deleted (from the sd card), which I found strange, but thought hey, no problem if I can just download them from the market again right? But obviously since I cant run the market app, here lies my problem.
I hope there is a solution to this problem that doesn't involve reflashing my phone. I would be saddened to have to give up on this mod as I love nothing better than to get the most out of my phone.
Also just to clarify, I followed every step detailed in the CM 7 thread exactly as outlined and the flashing process was a pass for the cwm and the update completed successfully for the CM 7. I also cleared all data and wiped cache partition before and after each step as outlined.
Thanks for any comments/suggestions and I look forward to joining you on the forum.

No idea about wifi - not used it.
For market crashing, try this:-
Settings > applications > all > Market. Try clearing data from this.
You ought not have to create new account for everything. Creating /adding a single gmail account will work for email and market and address / contacts, google+, maps, etc.
Having to clear browser cache / data - I do not "download" much, but browse a lot - including the picture / video rich sites. Have not much problem, though occassional clearing cache / restarting the browser does help speeding up page loading. Probably has to do with low device memory. Did use other third party browser - like dolphon (opera is the reason I moved away from Nokia), but am back to stock html viewer now.

Thanks for your input. I managed to set-up gmail under the email app but it wouldn't accept my hotmail account (it used to before the mod)
I have lots of free memory on both the device memory and sd card. I also have plenty free ram. My phone runs like a dream now to be honest.
I have just tried an apparent workaround by installing youtube on the phone, however although I can use it no problem, when I try to add an account I get this - Unable to authenticate user (before it even asks me to input my information!)
This really sucks =(
I can't sync or download anything through market.
Also, I have cleared the data and cache several times to no permanent avail, as I mentioned in first post.

Wifi -issue...i have this sometimes. But even in official 2.2.1.And this issue is when reconnect at same brodband or at remebered wifi networks.I solve this issue sample.
-Turn of your phone Wifi, disconnect your brodband from power energy, wait 10 seconds, plug in againr brodband, wait him to load ~1-2 minuts, after reboot your phone turn on again wifi and manual connect to wifi. After auto-reconnect will work a wile with no issues.
For other sync email and contacts you need to isntall googleapps.zip via CWM at first run setup your Gmail acount. After no issue with others.
Also you need to make a correct install of CM and googleapps.zip.
1.)Install official 2.3.4 KPI using tools from samfirmwares.
2.)After install CWM using ODIN like in tj's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167750
3.)Install CyanogenMod via CWM
4.)Boot up your phone and disconnect from 3g network and connect to wifi
5.)Reboot phone in recovery and flash googleapps.zip via CWM.
6.)Boot your phone and setup gmail acount.
7.)add your acounts and sync.
If you make this you shall not have any kind of issues with acounts sync ,only sometimes with wifi.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions - I've been waiting all day for a solution like this. I already have cwm installed as I said in first post. I will try reflashing as a last resort.
However, I am trying your theory on installing the google apps zip file through cwm now and will let you know how it pans out. Thanks!
Damn. Always something goes wrong! Log from cwm ; Finding Update package>Opening update package>verifying update package>E:signature verification failed>Installation aborted. Grrrrr
Previous installations have been fine through the choose zip from sd card. However, on attempting another zip (flash 10.2) also doesn't verify either (worked before)
Whats going on?? I'm at my wits end =P

You can toggle "signature verification" in CWM recovery menu. (Not sure where exactly that option is - but recovery menu is not too deep.

All, I am using CM7 for Galaxy Mini 09102011 and I have ony one problem:
Somehow the MAC address of the Wifi device in the phone is changing every time I disable and re-enable Wifi connection. This was a problem, since because of that I had to disable MAC address filtering in my home network just to prevent myself always setting the new MAC address in my router's MAC filtering "white list".
What I observed that the changing part of the MAC address is always the 2nd half (meaning the last 3 pair of hex numbers)!
Does someone know a fix how to prevent Wifi MAC changing?
Some people say that the don't have this experience with the previous release of CM7 for Galaxy Mini (01102011).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

I haven't noticed this kind of problem before with CM7 personally and I wish I had a fix for you. Perhaps it may be better to back up and try a reflash? Assuming you haven't already tried that of course!
Sorry I don't have any other methods but I noticed nobody is replying to your question!

Yes, this problem is not there in CM7 01102011. You can try flashing it after a nandroid backup. I had similar problem with latest (09 10) CM7 so I restored my previous backup and everything is fine now...
Hello,
I've problem with some custom roms (full wipe), where I'm not able to connect to WIFI.
Just remark now that in this case, there is no MAC address in advance parameters of wifi configuration.
I've tried to flash from a working rom without wipe data and the wifi works (but rom has bugs). So I think there is an app somwhere (or app's data) that is missing in the problematic rom.
Did anyone know wich application read the MAC addres, so I can try to restore it from a titanium backup?
Thanks
None of these helps?

And instead of eth0 i think to remember it has to either be wlan0 or something very similar to this...
You'll find it out. Try busybox and fixpermissions from within RomManager first.
I've already try to fix permission in Rom Manager.
Just copy the Wifi folder in system\ect of a working rom, try to restore the other rom to compare what I have in it
Thanks !
ok, I give up...
folder system\etc\wifi doesn't matter, there some missing data somewhere else but too lazy to get it work, so I change rom
I'm hoping someone can help me. If your familiar with the wpa_supplicant file getting corrupted and sticking in "turning on". The only fix I've found was renaming, deleting the file and rebooting which would create a new one. Well that worked for a while but I've botched something. Even after a factory reset on the phone it doesn't change my system/etc/wifi directory & wifi won't turn on.. There are two files that begin with wpa_supplicant (overlay & .conf).. I just can't get it to work and hoped maybe someone has access to those files & I could get working or blank copies? . Any help would be appreciated

Here you go make sure to set the permissions of the files to match the others before you reboot. There should also be a wpa_supplicant.conf file in
Code:
/data/misc/wifi
...that's literally all I know about wifi though so hopefully that's what you're looking for!

That file starting causing a problem for me after the 4.2.2 update during tethering. Barnacle Wifi Tether app has a setting "Skip wpa_supplicant". Checking that is the only way I can tether, don't know if that will help in your case or not.
Known issue? Note 3 wifi turning on indifinetly
So this is a known issue?
I also am getting the wifi issue on my note 3, I can lso repair it for a while if I delete the wpa_supplicient.conf file and reboot.
But I have to do this quite regularly...this is not cool
Did you find a long term solution?
I just clean installed the latest Lollipop ROM on my S5 and immediately ended up with it forgetting the WiFi password on reboot, and even just turning off WiFi and back on
Found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51180156&postcount=2
Basically you need to be rooted, open up build.prop in /system/ and edit this line
ro.securestorage.support=true
to
ro.securestorage.support=false
Reboot, you'll have to enter the WiFi password once more, but after that, it'll remember them
Not sure of any other issues disabling secure storage might cause, but for me at least, it's worth it
Basically this means your router password is stored in plain text in wpa_supplicant.conf file. Anyone can access that file will comprise your network security. There's got to be a better solution to this very common problem.
Thread cleaned.
