Still learning about the note 3..but I develop for the note 2 and I love 240 dpi on it.
I notice that the note 3 runs at 480 dpi (I think) while note 2 runs 320. So I figure 240 dpi mod might be a bit to small. What size would you guys like so I can whip one up. It will be universal for the most part. I'll make a separate one for alliance users.
Once I get some feedback on dpi requests I'll update this thread and title when it's finished.

After I installed Xposed onto this phone, I played around with the App Settings (per app DPI) module, and found that 320 DPI is actually a pretty nice DPI for this phone. It's what I am currently running at.
Here's a screenshot:
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
I just use an app called DPI changer from the play store along with app settings for each individual app.
Dpi changer isn't working for me
Edit:.... working

I would like to see an app like in the x note 7 port. They have a DPI changer in it and it works awesome. Anytime I try to change the DPI it messes with my dialer and other little elements.

Did you get the lockscreen to work right? The camera button was near the middle or the screen when I tried to change the dpi before.
I just tweak my build prop. I like 340 on mine.

Build.prop will change the whole phone where some of the apps can do it on an app by so basis. But some of them all they are doing is going into the build and doing it for you so you don't go in and accidently change something else

I always change mine to 330 and seems to be perfect for me.
Someone want to try something for me?. If you have X note 12 downloaded already unzip the rom and pull the Xtransformer app from it. Copy and paste it to your system/app change permission to rw.r.r and let me know if it works.
I ask cause I don't have my comp. Right now and can't recover if I mess something up. But also because I toke the X note 12 Xtransformer app and put it in X note 7 and it works perfectly. I like it better because it has the lower dpi's
Edit: well got my Como back and tested this and the x transform app works on a few other Roms in case anyone was wondering.

What's that theme?
Makes everthing smaller, but most apps just show thick black bars around the screen, so its pretty useless
unfortunatelly it only scales down all icons fonts menus... but also breakes everything for example when u r pressing any icon or menu some stripes keeps showning on... its not exact mod but rather a trick

ps. used the lcd density from market just to try because as sayed resultat should be the same?
what android have done is made the density so that on say a galaxy s an app icon is the same display size as on our screens so all fingertip sizes.
making a higher density is not right as instead of everything being the same size they are smaller.

sorry but is there a way to edit the build.prop probably ??
i'm using the ROM toolbox and i couldn't find "ro.sf.lcd_density " nor " launcher.force_enable_rotation" or "qemu.hw.mainkeys"
Use Root Explorer and long press build.prop in the /system folder then choose 'open with' and select text editor (Make sure not to make a typo or you won't get past boot screen ;P ).
You'll have to add the lines at the end as they probably aren't in your build prop
Then use the overflow menu in the upper right and choose a save option. Reboot.

Most people on XDA with a Nexus 7 what to get away from the native UI and get a tablet one and here on a proper tablet UI the most votes (admittedly a fairly small number of vote) what to go to a phone UI. That's weird.

Thanks - tried the google search and was only browsing the first couple posts ... guess i should have read down further :silly:
Was going to get your opinion. Im on bliss team and maintain flo/deb. A user is trying to change the resolution. Said apps fail, on cm based ROMs. I got an app to work. But I wonder if just using the advanced settings in the ROM and change density from 340 to 216 would be enough. To mirror I'm assuming.

Its stock(bliss) @ 320. I changed it to 240. Looked very similar visually to the apps (nexus7 2012) look with resolution 1200x800. But my deb res stayed 1920x1200 with 240dpi. To me changing density would be enough to cast as resolution is device spefic(?).

well, dpi and resolution are different. if you do want to change resolution, there are apps for that, like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomone.resolution_changer

I have the app, but he said they didn't work. Worked for me. Just curious about whether changing just DPI would be enough. Thx

well, changing dpi doesnt change your resolution, so it depends what youre trying to get at.
There are terminal commands to change resolution, no need for app. Depends what he wants to do though. As said abov3, dpi is entirely different

it very well could be a cm issue currently.
if he changes resolution, how he sees his screen wont change much, unless he drops his resolution extremely. changing the dpi will change how the icons look like on the screen, even could get a "tablet mode" if its dropped enough.
