NEW NTC Content - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Currently at work and my wife sends me a screenshot that states NEW NTC Content is available.
We are both on LYZ28J - T-Mobile and rooted.
Anyone have any idea what this is?

Nope, no idea what NTC is. Sorry.

Only thing that jumps out at me from a quick Google search is Nike Training Club. Hope this helps!

im assuming that your wife has the nice training club app installed..

Was going to get your opinion. Im on bliss team and maintain flo/deb. A user is trying to change the resolution. Said apps fail, on cm based ROMs. I got an app to work. But I wonder if just using the advanced settings in the ROM and change density from 340 to 216 would be enough. To mirror I'm assuming.

Its stock(bliss) @ 320. I changed it to 240. Looked very similar visually to the apps (nexus7 2012) look with resolution 1200x800. But my deb res stayed 1920x1200 with 240dpi. To me changing density would be enough to cast as resolution is device spefic(?).

well, changing dpi doesnt change your resolution, so it depends what youre trying to get at.

There are terminal commands to change resolution, no need for app. Depends what he wants to do though. As said abov3, dpi is entirely different

it very well could be a cm issue currently.
if he changes resolution, how he sees his screen wont change much, unless he drops his resolution extremely. changing the dpi will change how the icons look like on the screen, even could get a "tablet mode" if its dropped enough.

sorry but is there a way to edit the build.prop probably ??
i'm using the ROM toolbox and i couldn't find "ro.sf.lcd_density " nor " launcher.force_enable_rotation" or "qemu.hw.mainkeys"
Use Root Explorer and long press build.prop in the /system folder then choose 'open with' and select text editor (Make sure not to make a typo or you won't get past boot screen ;P ).
You'll have to add the lines at the end as they probably aren't in your build prop
Then use the overflow menu in the upper right and choose a save option. Reboot.

Most people on XDA with a Nexus 7 what to get away from the native UI and get a tablet one and here on a proper tablet UI the most votes (admittedly a fairly small number of vote) what to go to a phone UI. That's weird.

Not sure why anybody would want the Nexus 7 UI over tablet JB, it's locked to phone interface for some stupid reason, meaning you don't get the tablet versions of any apps and the home screen and many apps don't rotate to landscape...

How to get EXTREMELY VIBRANT colors on your N4 display (Best AMOLED-like colors)

Basically, I wanted a really vibrant, colorful display, like an AMOLED screen. All the AMOLED color profiles still weren't colorful enough, so I did my own tweaking and got this.
Apply the S4_TITI color profile (which you should be able to find in the N4 color spreadsheet),
then in the RGB settings, do this:
Red: 225
Green: 214
Blue: 221
Enjoy! :victory:

LCD Density

The default density of 480 is something I find to be too high, the huge big screen can use a little more content. Setting it to 400 makes it quite nice.

If you're on stock based rom change dpi to 320 and then go into keyboard personalisation and the option will be there

Would you guys like a dpi mod?

Still learning about the note 3..but I develop for the note 2 and I love 240 dpi on it.
I notice that the note 3 runs at 480 dpi (I think) while note 2 runs 320. So I figure 240 dpi mod might be a bit to small. What size would you guys like so I can whip one up. It will be universal for the most part. I'll make a separate one for alliance users.
Once I get some feedback on dpi requests I'll update this thread and title when it's finished.

After I installed Xposed onto this phone, I played around with the App Settings (per app DPI) module, and found that 320 DPI is actually a pretty nice DPI for this phone. It's what I am currently running at.

Build.prop will change the whole phone where some of the apps can do it on an app by so basis. But some of them all they are doing is going into the build and doing it for you so you don't go in and accidently change something else

Someone want to try something for me?. If you have X note 12 downloaded already unzip the rom and pull the Xtransformer app from it. Copy and paste it to your system/app change permission to rw.r.r and let me know if it works.
I ask cause I don't have my comp. Right now and can't recover if I mess something up. But also because I toke the X note 12 Xtransformer app and put it in X note 7 and it works perfectly. I like it better because it has the lower dpi's
Edit: well got my Como back and tested this and the x transform app works on a few other Roms in case anyone was wondering.

New firmware now offers to register one handed thumb print.

I just deleted my prints to set them up again, and noticed that you are now offered to set up a one handed thumb print.
After setting up my prints again my thumb is registering much more accurately and I can swipe faster than before too.

Did you root your phone after the update?
Which firmware are you on? Any other improvements?

The one that was released the other day. I noticed the camera auto focuses a lot quicker and everything else seems a bit snappier. Battery life is about the same though.

Sorry to hear that. I suppose it will work better for some people more than others. Did you deregister your old prints then re-register?

In what aspect did the phone feel snappier? Like, did it respond to touch more responsively or something? :S

Just the general usage of the phone seems faster, but that could just be psychological because of the new update
The main advantage for me was the fingerprint scanner as I was having a lot of problems with it before.

I am eager to try out the improved fingerprint sensor, but my phone doesn't recognize my print for some reason and i forgot the alternate password lol.

Oops. Maybe a factory restore will sort out the problem if you don't mind going through all the hassle of setting up your phone again. I had to do it once to sort out a wifi bug.

Yeah I did that, I don't think the firmware installation actually worked, I still have a white music player
