Does it fix the battery drain? Not too sure.
just rename and push to /system/app or just normal installation ?
EDIT: just install it like normal app, says the source.
thanks, after 3h using this update my battery life seems to be normal.
And before of this release you had problems with the battery?

For me it doesn`t work, because the battery drain did come back after half a day,
but after I installed the new Google search update from playstore yesterday the battery is okay again for today.
Hopefully they really fixed it now! :fingers-crossed:
Same here. I have to turn off location services or the phone dies after few hours

Weird, whether mine is on or off, I don't get any drain. There's a newer update being pushed already though. My current play services is 5.0.84.
But, I wasn't getting any drain on .77 either. Try clearing the cache and resuming as normal?
I have no more draining with this version.

Got an update yesterday of play services, no more problems so it seems..
hi all
did 5.0.84 fixed the problem?
With the last update my batterydrain was dramatically lowered. Before it I could only use my phone for a few hours. The key (for me) was to clear cache from de Google Play Services app and reboot.
5.0.88 http://d-h.st/qKw :good: ZL 4.4 (230)!!!
Mine got updated, I was on .84 and still draining issues, but now I'm on .88. I was using disable services app, I'll try without and report back.
Running now few days on 5.0.88 and all fine on my XZ ^^
Edit
Here the proof and no drain on the latest google play service 5.0.88 and it stands below the list !!

Yes it does, but it is annoying that my battery is losing 3%/1.5 hour when it should sleep..

Try turning Stamina Mode on
Try turning data related widgets off (Google Now, weather, Facebook, etc)
I don't know of a way to track down which app is requesting the wakelock, so I'd start by disabling everything I can think of, then adding widgets back in/turning services back on one by one and checking to see which one is responsible.

This wakelock is there even with 2G / GSM and Mobile network inactivated. I am on de-bloated monxDIFIED ROM with latest Doomkernel and apps like Facebook are greenified. It's still there.
The msm_hsic_host wakelock plagues all S4Pro devices. There is a kernel side fix (at least on the Nexus 4) but it breaks some other things

I hope Doomlord will take this in account, because one of his future fixes /To-Do in future versions of Doomkernel is to add an patch that fixes / minimizes the amount of msm_hsic_host wakelock.
My Xperia ZR which is currently running Android 4.3 and Google Play Services 4.4.52 seems to be facing the same problem as the 4.4 users on Xperia Z - Huge battery drain (up to 91%)
This has been happening everyday for over a week now and shows no sign of stopping.

I have heard of this problem occurring on Xperia Z devices that recently received the Kitkat update but not a word anywhere of the existence of this problem on an Xperia device running Android 4.3.
I would like to know if anyone out there is facing a similar issue while still running 4.3 on their device. And if anyone is, then have you found any solution to the problem?
Would appreciate a reply ASAP as my phone has been rendered practically useless right now with my battery going from 100% to 10% in about 6/8 hours without 3G/WiFi/GPS or anything else apart from the basic network being on.
Try the same solution as for KitKat.
Play Services 5.0 are released! Try to find them in a tech blog and install them.
Hth!
It happened to me too just stop the location service completely and reboot. After this my battery drain stoped.

Same problem on 4.4.2 Kitkat update
the same issue I'm facing ever since I updated my phone to 4.4.2 KitKtat for Sony Xperia ZR...
Resolved
Yup, the issue got resolved after Google released Google Play Services 5.0! Phone's functioning normally now and battery life is sweet! Thanks a lot, everyone!
Google Service 5 helps really?
I installed it manually and I recognize that battery drain is the same as before?
Helps version 5 really?

I am planning an upgrade to 5.1.1 from 4.4.4. Worried about your report. Do you know what is causing the wakelocks - is it Facebook? Because if that is the case, I do not keep Facebook anyway so no problem for me.

Idk what it is but I doubt its Facebook.
Wakelock detectors say its RILJ which stands for Radio Interface Layer... J...
I ran down some leads but the trail went cold. Just waiting on inspiration before tackling the issue again l.
I would suggest upgrading to 5.0 since my batt life was phenomenal there but thats just my experience. Good luck!

This probably could be the mobile radio active bug which was discussed a lot. I have not read much about it as I did not plan to upgrade hoping that we MIGHT get Marshmallow. Now that it has been ruled out, thinking of going to Lollipop.

No idea.
Also original Z series and Z1 are left out of Marshmallow. Check Sony announcement regarding this.

install xposed. there is a module to fix that
I have upgraded to 5.1.1 and rooted. I have Greenify running, no Facebook. (Xposed not installed yet).
Battery life is better or at least equivalent to KitKat.
Hi! First of all, i know, there are hundreds of possible causes to battery drains: wakelocks, account sync, malicious apps (FB, Instagram...), but i've been researching and i have no clue about what is causing it.
I'm with Cataclysm (MM) and franco.kernel r34, have greenified almost all the aps, and limited permissions with app ops, however, tonight i've had a 20% battery loss, 40% of the time awake, and no wakelocks detected.
Maybe i'm freaking out because of nothing and 20% of battery loss is a usual thing, but i think it's not.
Here are some screenshots:

Well... last night i turned on plane mode, and only 1% battery drain in 7 hours... maybe wifi is messing up?
That 37% .gms is Google location stuff. Maybe revisit those settings. Your signal looks good.
Checked into AppOps which processes had location and disabled them, anyway, when i did the screenshots location was off...
Yesterday completely clean installation, now i'm running stock unrooted with elementalx kernel, and had the same battery draining issue, but i've noticed that only happens while connected to mi wifi network.
I have to try it on another wifi and see the results, but at the moment, some advice to fix the on wifi draining?
Solved!! I found the problem, the router that distributes my cable company had a completely buggy firmware, and i found a thread that explains how to fix it:
http://comunidad.movistar.es/t5/Sop...llos-Mitrastar-Batería-WIFI-DHCP/td-p/2659061
Tonight i have lost only 5% battery, so that really fix my problem.

OK, so I have a 920I running 5.1.1, and today I was almost fully on mobile data. And I got truly, down to earth, horrible battery life. How bad you might ask? 1 percent every ten minutes. 6 percent an hour. In standby. SOT stood at 1h 20m.

So, anyone have any explanation? I barely have any apps on here: WhatsApp, Clash Royale and Clans, Snapchat (not logged in) and Tapatalk. Thats it. I just factory reset the phone last week too.
Im starting to think there's something with my Google account, as poor battery life seems to carry over on every Android device I own. My gmail account is particularly old, since 2007 if im not wrong, so perhaps theres an issue with that?
Nevertheless, ANY suggestions are welcome.

It seems you played that new supercell game a lot.
Try package disabler pro? That usually helps with battery or try wipe cache and finally if those dont work than try reeset phone.

Not nearly enough to make the phone's battery suck this bad. My Moto X takes only a very slight hit when playing.
