I am planning an upgrade to 5.1.1 from 4.4.4. Worried about your report. Do you know what is causing the wakelocks - is it Facebook? Because if that is the case, I do not keep Facebook anyway so no problem for me.

Idk what it is but I doubt its Facebook.
Wakelock detectors say its RILJ which stands for Radio Interface Layer... J...
I ran down some leads but the trail went cold. Just waiting on inspiration before tackling the issue again l.
I would suggest upgrading to 5.0 since my batt life was phenomenal there but thats just my experience. Good luck!

This probably could be the mobile radio active bug which was discussed a lot. I have not read much about it as I did not plan to upgrade hoping that we MIGHT get Marshmallow. Now that it has been ruled out, thinking of going to Lollipop.

No idea.
Also original Z series and Z1 are left out of Marshmallow. Check Sony announcement regarding this.

install xposed. there is a module to fix that

I have upgraded to 5.1.1 and rooted. I have Greenify running, no Facebook. (Xposed not installed yet).
Battery life is better or at least equivalent to KitKat.

[Q] Strange Battery Level Reporting

So, I am posting this for a friend, mostly because I have the same phone, and want to fix it if it happens to me.
My friend just got a brand new customized Moto X, and says he loves it. However, his phone seems to be completely unable to read the charge level of the battery. Here are a couple screenshots of the battery graph. Notice the phone is never plugged in during the time periods show.

I think he is going to try a full discharge and recharge, but that is pretty rough on the battery, and I don't want him to damage it. Is this a software bug? Or did he just get a defective unit?
Thanks!
EDIT: So, he actually WAS charging on one of those screenshots, but the graph didn't register it... Still weird...

I've never seen a graph like that honestly. But he does have serious held awake issues. Could be related.
Tell him to get Gsam from play store. Much more in depth statistics.

Hes had the phone about 24 hours. I think the held awake part is simply novelty... "okay google now"
But yeah, i'm stumped!
Google now won't keep it awake like that.
Gsam may tell you. Can't recall its unrooted capabilities ...but more than the stock battery stat screen either way.

[Q] Battery takes ages to recharge

Hey,
I'm using Mackay ROM ICS and my battery recharges for a very long time..
I started recharging it 2 hours ago from 0% and now it's on 66%. Which means it will take 3 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.
I bought a new battery (Genuine.. atleast claims to be) from Ebay. Came yesturday.
It looks really good and high quality, even better than my old one that came with the device, which I bought from a known local cellphone band company in 2010.
How can I tell if the battery is genuine? It was really cheap, from Germany. Costs like 8$.
It weighs 35 grams while my old one is 33 grams. Plus my old one has lots of stickers from the company and all the warranty stuff, so it's probably even lighter than 33..
Thanks.
If its a new battery it'll take longer to charge than normal so give it time.

OK.. I will try.. But I realy doubt it's genuine although the graphics, build and feel look really good and authentic..
My original one has this little thingy in the bottom of the battery, in the middle of it. Like here:

}
The one I bought doesn't.. Like here:
Everything looks spot on. Just that middle thing is missing..
What do you think?
i can't tell if it's fake or not to be honest. only thing to do is let it fully change and see how long it lasts.

Doesn't have to be now but I'd be happy if you'de check yours for me anytime soon.
Thanks.
Just checked my battery and the bottom of mine is different to both of them lol. I know mine is genuine because it came with my phone when i bought it from a phone shop in the uk. Mine is a very old battery so probably will buy new one too soon.

You have a regular I9000, right?
Also my new battery is 4.123V~ while 100% charged and my old one is 4.07~. That's good, right?
Thanks!
yeah i have a regular Samsung battery and regular i9000 which is rooted and running the same Mackey ics rom as you believe it or not.
Anyone else?

In the kernel settings, did you enable the fast charge option? you did not mention it in the previous posts, but i know it helps! I am using it but with the Semaphore kernel

Extremely slow charging on LP

I have researched extensively for the past couple days for a fix, and found nothing substantial. Most say a factory reset works, but that has not helped me. I started out rooted with the hotspot mod on 27a.. Took the OTA no problem after restoring the original hotspot. I noticed my slow charge the next day, figuring it was a fluke or some random app causing it I tried a factory reset. That did not solve the issue. I then thought maybe it was a bad update file so I used the tot method and went back to 11a. I logged in my Google, did not restore and followed the OTA path back to LP from there. Still had slow charge issues so I decided to try to root and install twrp so I could try a different Rom. I did a full wipe including sdcard and installed LPextreme 1.1 and at that point reinstalled xposed and the beta g3tweaksbox. I still have slow charging issues... It shouldn't take 6 hours to charge from 68% to full.. Tried different chargers and the best is actually my wireless qi charger, which will charge from 72%ish to full in 2.5 hours... I really like LP but if I can't find a fix I might have to stay on KK... Does anyone have some ideas as to what may fix this problem? Factory reset and tot back to stock 11a don't work.

Another side note.. The lollipop extreme rom has an awesome battery life... Took my phone off charge at noon today at 100% battery, and the screenshot shows my battery stats...

Yes but not all g2s are exhibiting the slow charge bug... My wife's g2 was set up almost identical to mine and she does not suffer the slow charging bug.. Hers charges a little slower than KK but waaaay faster than mine.

Unfortunately, with it being a known issue, it will be virtually impossible to troubleshoot it.

Serious problem with my battery. Showing wrong percentage. Also need help with mV.

My battery has gone crazy! Random getting stuck at different % how do I fix this problem?
Also I notice my battery gets over 4300mV and I'm at 3% right now and I'm at 3600mV is this normal?

Are you using Gsam Battery Monitor with Root Companion?
I had a similar issue with my own device. But I noticed this started directly after installing Root Companion. After uninstalling it battery returned to normal. I still have Gsam, just without Root Companion. No problems since :good:

Well if you never heard of either of those apps it's probably not your issue. I've not used Viper Rom myself. It is heavily moded so maybe there's a tweak or something causing a similar issue.

I'm not sure. I think I may of fixed it not 100% sure.
I fully drained my battery last night. I read somewhere if you hold Up+Down+Power for 2mins with battery drained it will reset the battery and charger stats and than you turn it on and let it charge until 100% without no breaks or bring it out of standby.
I've had Battery Drainer App running for 3hours and it seems to be running smoothly now. It's dropping normally now 35% @ 3577mv. What should the mV be at 0%? At full it was 4228mV.

so any way to fix it?
no other mod installed?
possible a hardware defect..
and if it is a hardware defect then there would be no other choice but to check if it still has warranty..
btw, how old is your nexus 6?

You may not fully understand the issue.
I encountered it myself on my N5. The wifi/bt chip died. In doing so, it seemed to be stuck in some sort of loop where it consumed battery very quickly (despite being non functional). This occurred for me, even when the phone was turned off, which I assume is OP's issue as well.
There is no fix for it as far as I know, I even attempted to bake my motherboard with the wifi/bt chip exposed as a final solution since I was out of warranty. No go. This isn't an unheard of issue either.

And the heat I experienced came exclusively from that chip and not the CPU. Checked with a laser thermometer as well.
I tried baking my laptop's motherboard when its video chip went on the fritz. It didn't work, but a heat gun did. So, if you baked the board in an oven you didn't give it sufficient heat for the solder to melt. The heat gun generates the heat needed and directs it in one spot, similar to a solder reflow workstation.
Of course this talk about solder reflowing is off the topic about the chip itself being bad.
