So I got this little msg display on my phone today. Been trying to listen to iHeartRadio and it kept disconnecting. After I rebooted my N6, a msg popped up saying I will need Google Play Services, which apparently is not installed on my phone, in order to continue using apps. I have it installed and up to date. Anyone else experience this?

Thank you kind sir! I appreciate that.
I've got heavy wakelocks from google play services and they won't let the device go to sleep when screen is off.
I've tried following fixes regarding this issue.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/f...-guard.297792/
None of them worked for me..
Could it be of the Gapps I use?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53739230&postcount=5031
This worked for me for me...but only til I rebooted the phone.
I've tried different Gapps packages..all the same.
Any suggestions what I am doing wrong or how I can permanently get rid of the wakelocks caused by google play services?
I'm on Mackay 4.4.4 ROM and using Open Gapps 4.4 from 11/22/15
Can someone help me out of this misery please? :crying:
Got a workaround but not quite the root of all evil.
In privacy settings I disabled "keep awake" for Google play services and the battery drain is much better.
But now I am getting "unfortunatly Google play services has stopped" sometimes.
Everything seems to work..
It is OK but anoying somehow.
Anyone here with an actual solution?

I am not wuite sure what you mean with "DisableService in Google Play".
Can you please be more specific?
Do you mean the app "Disable Service" and if so what to disable exactly?
I've already tried to use the app to enable "SystemUpdateService" as it is disabled, but it went
back to disabled after boot.
Yeah! You must download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice&hl=pl
****Go to Google Services>search this:
- "UPDATE" |||| off ALL
- "Sync" III off ALL
- Game III off ALL
And disable almost all proces, in background.
you have to embrace it-yourself
And your GOOGLE SERVICE WILL BE so low
Sorry for my bad english.

Hey folks,
I've installed google play store from an apk and also account manager and framework. It seems to crash before fully opening and returning to the home screen after install.
I noticed the issue with most apk's i try and run as well.
I searched around a bit and have come up empty on a true fix.
Hoping this is something fairly common of an issue, and I appreciate the time. Thanks!

The store crashed on me last night. Though it happened after the last update they made to it. My phone wasn't impressed. Only thing that fixed it was uninstall the store to factory and let it update again. It was making my Pandora music app skip songs. Was the weirdest thing.
Is there any issue with it. I'm using stock note 8 and when I try download or update an app it takes long time. Any ideas. Thanks for your help

Your issues with Play store, reminds me of 2 x similar incidents, i had with my old Note devices.
Think it was Note 3 and my Note 4. Not sure.
Unfortunately It was a few years back!
eg.
When i tried to download, an apps update etc and
app size was eg 2mb or 5 mb.. etc I struggled to download.Very frustrating!
Eventually after a week or 2, maybe 3.
i was able to pinpoint
the the "suspect"
(Unfortunately i cannot remember clearly ,
but it was either, that i had sideloaded
wrong updated version of Play services apk
(Cleaning Play services cache did not help.)
or it was an Xposed /Xposed model.
(So phone was also rooted)
Anyway ,
i then decided to factory reset and Playstore
was working fine again.
Bottom line is
you can either look for the "suspect"?
causing this.
( I know there was a few threads about similar issues with Playstore, on XDA... way back then ! )
or save yourself from the frustration it's causing?
and try a "clean" Factory reset.!
Good luck
Have you tried cleaing the cache data in the internal storage? That usually helps with this sorta issue.
Tried that not working in either what you said

Is it on wifi or data?
Reset router modem.
Do other apps lag like YouTube or Netflix.
Download speed bad in your area.
Uninstall GP updates and try to reinstall them or apk from web.
Is updating apps through wifi only ?
Clear out all pending updates and restart device.
Do you have another device or friends to see if it's the same problem on theirs too for your region.
Try a different proxy.
Just throwing some ideas around!!
Go into your Google settings and see if you have it to update using wifi only I personally always turn auto updates off.. I had this problem with my Note 8 when I 1st got it. How I fixed it was I went into settings and went to apps and cleared the cache and data on Google play services and playstore and foreclosed them and then went to accounts and removed my Google account and restarted my phone.. when my phone rebooted I went to the playstore and had to login fresh again and that fixed the problem.
I fixed it by factory resetting phone. Thankfully I backed it all up
I'm using a Note9 that's only a month old. The last 2 days, any app updates or new apps I'm trying to download get stuck at 99% (sometimes 100%). Things I've tried so far:
* Resetting the Play Store to default and deleting data/cache
* Wiping the cache of the whole phone
* Disabling the Google app (per suggestions I found elsewhere)
* Uninstalling Nova Launcher (per suggestions)
* Wiping the cache/data of the Download Manager
It's driving me up the wall. No idea what to try. Any advice?
This is the same issues I've been having, especially since updating to Android Pie. Only small fix I found was just closing all apps and run Device Care on a download, then it worked. I don't know if this is an actual fix though.
Are you using any package blockers or anything disabled via adb? If yes one app too many was blocked

I am not.
I've ran into this problem but only when having a unstable Wi-Fi connection. Specifically a bad power supply on the router.
And a lot of business wifi like in hospitals and stuff they have blocking software to keep the employees from watching movies and game of thrones and things like!
Photo's[emoji2398] by Sully using SM-N960U or SM-870A
So, no one has found a solution to the stuck-at-99% download problem for Google Play Store?

Only Google.
I'm experiencing this problem as well (Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). This started happening 2 days ago.
Also, another strange thing is happening: The Blue light filter, and Digital Wellbeing grayscale filter, are not starting/stopping at the correct times, they are delayed (sometimes by hours).
The worst part is, my previous phone (Galaxy Note 8) had the exact same issue(s). I endured it for a long time. I was excited to ditch the Note 8 for a phone that worked... Oh well
I generated a debug log, and I'm combing through it now. I don't understand everything I'm looking at.
Here are some attempted fixes, that did _not_ fix the issue on the Note 8:
* Clearing the Google Play store and services caches.
* Removing my Google account, then signing back in.
* Factory reset, then reinstalling everything from scratch. (The issue started happening again, within 1 day.)

Thanks for your response. I just tried this, disabled the Google Play app, then restarted the device. I re-enabled Google Play, unfortunately the issue is not fixed. I'm looking at my 13 pending updates, the first one (Nova Launcher) is stuck at 100%, and is not moving/updating at all.

Thank you very much!
I double-checked that apps were unable to update (Netflix was stuck at "77%"). I disabled the Google app, and restarted the phone. I left Google disabled.
... Netflix took longer to update (it stalled at "77%" again), but it did finish successfully. Now the other apps are downloading and installing! Nice. Hopefully this is a permanent (or at least reproducible) solution to the issue.
Do you know *why* the Google app would be interfering with app updates? I'm genuinely curious.

Did you find out what was causing this issue? I have had to disable my "google" app to allow updates. Are you using a s8 ? We should compare apps to see if something we have in common is causing this issue.

Yes i disabled it, but that must be related to another issue. my girlfriend has the same s8 and no issues. Must be related to multiple google accounts or something that differs from my phone to hers.
Perhaps fully off-topic or just the solution, did you disable or remove Chrome? I know my Note 9 shows similar behaviour when I debloat and remove Chrome. Once I updated the WebView app all runs fine. So I always update WebView before anything else. But then again I only notice this behaviour once I remove or disable Chrome browser.
