Galaxy Tab SCH-I800 Reboot Loop - Computer USB Won't Stay Connected - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (Verizon) SCH-I800 7" that is stuck in a reboot loop. Searches/fixes for this issue seem almost common, but mine is experiencing this issue much worse than the others I've read about. Full charge, not plugged in; without pressing the power button, the device automatically attempts to turn on, the Samsung logo appears for 5 seconds exactly, it shuts itself off, the process repeats until the battery dies. Battery at all levels, plugged in; without pressing the power button, the device automatically attempts to turn on, an empty battery image displays for roughly 4 seconds and then a full battery (or current level) displays for roughly 1 second.
The 5 seconds while it is on, pressing or holding the power button has no affect. Pressing and holding the power + down volume buttons will display the yellow downloading screen, which displays "downloading.... do not turn off target" and yellow android sign for 2-5 seconds (depending on how quickly I am able to load it". While this downloading screen is displayed, pressing power, volume up or down do not have any affect.
When connecting the Tab device to a computer via the USB cord, the computer recognizes it for approximately 4-5 seconds, then disconnects for 4-5 seconds, repeat forever. The computer is unable to successfully install drivers or do anything useful in this short amount of time. The battery has been replaced as well as I thought that may be the issue, no change.
Any suggestions?

"Pressing and holding the power + down volume buttons will display the yellow downloading screen, which displays "downloading.... do not turn off target" and yellow android sign for 2-5 seconds"
are you saying it turns off after few second even in that download mode?!
what have you done to your phone before that?
are you on stock firmware? version of ROM?
even tho i don't think i am able to help you, but more info my give someone else a better chance on doing so

well, i have experienced this, after i flash a ROM, and my battery is low, i forced it to flash, and became the same like your tab....
maybe this step can help your tab...
1.charge your battery for 3-5 hours
2.after that, quickly hold the power + down volume to download mode
3.connect it with your computer, Restock it
PS: IF after step 1 try to normally boot your tab, maybe there still a hope:angel:

[Q] Nook HD+ won't turn on, tried everything

I was using my Nook HD+, when the screen suddenly showed lines all across it and froze. I had to push down the power button for 8 seconds to shut it down. Then could not turn it on. Tried all possible combinations, power, power+n, power+n+volume up keys for 5 seconds and for 30 seconds each time. Still not turning on. I tried plugging it in (although it had about 40% charge left before the screen froze) and noticed that the charging indicator glows green. If I push down the power button for 8 seconds, the light goes off, but if i press the button again, it comes back on. I've tried all the methods I saw on internet, except for draining the battery because the post suggested keeping it in a fridge, which I'm hesitant and also not in a position to do. Please help guys. I'm at a total loss.

Have you tried unplugging the battery from the MB wait 30 secs then plug it back in and charge it .(you have to remove the rear cover of course) I have had this issue with 3 HD+ units and it worked everytime.

XT890 doesn't start at all.

Hello. This morning I've turned off the alarm, turned on WIFI and went back to sleep. I can't tell for sure, but I think the battery was low. During the next 2 hours I checked the time several times. I don't remember accepting any OTA. Eventually I got up, tried to check the time and the phone was off. I tried to turn it on, no effect. No matter how many times and for how long I pressed and held the power button, the green LED only flashed for a split second and that's all. I plugged in the charger, and the LED stayed lit -but- there was this barely noticeable flickering. Charged it for about 30, 60, 120 minutes, didn't start plugged or unplugged. I went to work, 8 hours later (phone was unplugged) I tried to turn it on again, this time the LED doesn't even flash, but when charging there is no flickering. No combination of buttons works. Windows doesn't find the device, neither does RSD.
I've never done anything 'custom' to the phone. The last change I made was setting the alarm to turn off by shaking (yesterday, never used this option before).
Is it dead?
Try taking SD card out and holding Vol down and then Power for 20 secs, then let go of Power,
Already done that, nothing. No matter how long I charge it now, after unplugging and pressing power button the LED doesn't even flash. Could it be a battery problem (before its death, it would last for a day)? Is there any way of recovering my data without buying a new one?
Try opening and disconnect battery for a bit.
I'll do that as a last resort, on weekend maybe since I don't have the tools with me. Any other clues?
Nobody knows how to help me?
I'm going to make a factory cable. Will this alone allow me to recover the data? Or if I'll be able to flash the phone, can I recover the data afterwards?
Also, I'm not sure if I understand correctly: does the factory cable recharge the battery or not? Is there a way to recharge it when removed from the phone?
Try to use medfield unbrick script. If You have only green led it seems to be bootloader error so this script should bring Your phone to life or Your phone has broken emmc and You can start looking for a new logic board. Good luck.
I've installed the drivers, but Windows and XFSTK don't recognize my device at all. Factory cable also didn't help. I liked my phone very much.
Did You enter medfield mode using combination with camera button??
By a combination you mean holding the camera button and connecting the phone to a pc? I tried that.
Disassembe Your phone, pull out battery, push power button for a 10 sec, plug in battery, push camera button and connect USB. If it wont help You I don't see any hope for Your phone.
Well, new option to try is a new hope. I'll try that on the weekend. Could you please be more specific:
1. Pull out the battery.
2. Press the power button and wait 10 seconds.
3. Insert the battery: should I be still holding the power button at this moment?
4. Press the camera button.
5. Plug in the usb cable (factory? regular?) - should I be still holding the power and camera buttons?
Battery trick is only to discharge capacitors. Sometimes even phone is dead it can turn on in some strange mode and then You can't boot it to flash. Thats why You need to pull out battery, push power for a few sec to completely discharge motherboard and just release this button. After that You can just plug in battery and continue normal unbrick process - so hold camera button only and connect regular usb cable.
You can also try reset option instead of pulling battery out. To do that do not disassemble Your phone but just plug in regular USB, when phone starts (green led) hold power and vol- until green led goes off and then quickly start holding only camera button.
I have no more ideas.
Ok, I've tried everything. Nothing brought my phone back to life.
Thanks for all your help.

Tab not charging or turning on

I have the SM T815 9.7 32 gb variant. It worked completely fine. Two days back i connected a USB OTG and the tab recognized it, but i couldnt explore it inside the file manager, so i fonally diconnected it. Now the tab was charged to atleast a 20 percent. After removing the usb it showed 5 percent. So i connected the 1.8 amps charger i had. It generally charges it correctly and the charge doesnt fall even in use. I started watching a movie. Even tho the charger was connected the charge kept falling and finally shut down. So i left the tab on charge. It was stuck at 0 percent. At first the screen would show whenever i connected it to the charger, but after mutiple tries it has stopped doing that. I tried the stock charger as well, held down the power button and the volume up key for a minute, connected it and then kept holding the buttons for another 30 seconds. Still doesnt work. If i connect the charger now, the screen doesnt turn on or show any signs of charging.
1) connect the tab to PC;
2) press Home, Vol Down and Power simultaneously up to a screen appears;
3) press Vol Down to cancel and reboot the tablet.
Did this. Now the screen shows the charging icon. The chraging is extremely slow, after about 25 minutes its 2 percent. And the battery side is all warmed up. Should i be worried?

srry for reviving this thread but did your tablet eventually went back to normal?
my galaxy tab s2 does not turn on nor charging.. I connected it to my pc and tried home vol down and power but didn't work
And another revival - did you find any solutions to this? - mine did the exact same things, and none of the suggestions worked
Here we are again.
Another device, same problem.
Had around 40% suddenly went black and since then now sign at all no matter what I connect to it or button combo I use.
Edit:
After nearly one hour of testing different combos I could access download mode and from then on everything worked fine.

3T on 3.5.4 not turning off?

Seems like my 3T does not turn off when I turn it off via pressing the power button. When I have a charger connected it's easy to spot when the vibration goes off, but the charging light keeps lit - even when I remover the charger. It's also apparent that the device won't turn on when pressing the power button for three seconds. I need to press it about eight secs and then another two to turn it on.
Turning off works when rebooting the phone and turning it off from the bootloader (my device is unlocked) or when turning it off at the pin entry (have boot pin set).
Can anyone confirm?
Tested with clean system (no root, no Xposed) and still happening...
Turning off with the power button works on my device, powering up DOES take some time, 5-8 seconds of holding the power button down.
Seems like forever holding that power button!
Maybe I need to be more precise. Yes, I can "kill" the phone just holding that button for about ten seconds. But that's not the point. I suspect it does not power off properly.
To test, hook it up to the charger. Press power for about three seconds. Select "Turn off". Wait for the phone to vibrate. Charging light is on. If it'd be powering off correctly, it would kind of turn on again to show you the charging screen (battery symbol, then dash symbol). Does not do this for me. Instead it sits there... black. When I remove the charger, the charging light stays on.
To turn the phone on again, I then have to press power about ten seconds (turning it off), and then again to turn it on.
I tried your exact method, and my device shuts down (connected to the power cord, plugged in) normally, and them restarts while holding down the power button in 3 seconds.
When not connected to the dash charger, my device does power down very slowly as described in my earlier post (stock kernel)
My devices is rooted with the blue spark kernel though--so maybe that has some baring in my "normal" shut down/startup behavior.
I have the same bug to you... So I disconnected the cable...
Just wait for the future updates....

Please help! Can't turn on my phone :(

Hello everyone!
I was charging my phone last Wednesday night, last I checked was the battery was at 92% , then after 15-30 minutes I checked my phone again and I found out it was dead. I tried to charge it again, but it doesn't show or indicate that it was charging, I tried pressing the power button, but no display, I tried hard reset, and it displayed the logo for a while then go black again.
I tried charging it last Thursday evening and the phone suddenly blinks red light for about a minute or more, then no reaction at all.
I tried doing some combos from forums like :
Tried doing while charging press voldown + power button = blinks a red light once
Tried pressing voldown + volup + power button = nothing happened
Tried pressing voldown + power button for 15 secs, then volup + power button for 15 secs, then voldown + volup + power button for 15 secs, nothing happened.
I dunno what to do now, please help, service centres are I think closed here in Philippines due to some implementation of the government against COVID-19.

Mine's bricked and still waiting for it to be shipped to china to be fixed
same situation Sir. Any update on your phone now? what measures did you do? thanks!
today my phone suddenly restart then freeze then restart then long beep for about 10 sec. then dead and can't be power on any more help
Same with me. My Phone suddenly froze, and couldn't turn off or close the game (Genshin Impact) and a high pitched noise was coming from the device.
I Tried to force it to shutdown, but then it can't be turned on at all
The phone itself can't be turned on at all UNTIL some point when the phone reach 0% Battery (yes, I don't even know when does my phone reach 0% Battery)
When the phone reach 0% Battery, you can charge your phone and get some small red light indicator response, BUT IT STILL WON'T TURN ON
Then, after some couple of minutes, the Small Light Indicator would be off, the phone would be look like they're fine, it will show the battery percentage as usual when you charge your phone when it shutdown. BUT IT'S NOT FINE YET.
When I tried to turn it on (no matter Via Long Press Power Button/Power Button + Volume), it would stuck at ROG Logo, then it completely shutdown and can't be turned on again.
