You may have to switch recoveries to TWRP 2.6.3.3 OR 2.6.3.0, and use a windows 7 machine.

What will switching recoverys do?
Did you try "adb push rom.zip /sdcard/rom.zip" while you were on the home screen of the recovery?

Try it in recovery and also check to see if the device is being detached while in recovery by typing in "adb devices" in the command prompt.
Nope
If I use htc one toolkit while in bootloader and I fastboot I get my device show up but when I do adb I get nothing

So no adb in recovery, but fastboot working hmm. So adb devices shows nothing?
Your device is obviously being detected to have fastboot working.
Try adb kill-server to reset adb and then check if it's detectable in recovery, also make sure to mount the data.
Use a different computer if available
Make sure you don't have any tethers installed that would ruin adb like easy tether
Try downloading and reinstalling the adb universal set up drivers.
Try running a RUU if you can
Sorry if i'm not much help I'm still noobish to all this still

Your welcome glad its working finally
I started to root my phone this morning. I did the HTVDev unlock, flashed twrp, then tried to flash viperboy's disable RW system protect. This caused my phone to just hang at the HTC screen. I let my phone die and was able to get into my bootloader and fastboot. I tried to push the rom via adb but I kept getting the error of no device connected. Then i tried to flash the stock boot.img though fastboot. This brought me back to the HTC screen but now when I plug it in to my computer it shows up for everything and it installs drivers but the HTC MTP Device fails. Now I cant send commands to reboot through fastboot or adb. Im currently waiting for it to die again to get back to twrp or the bootloader. Any advice on how to proceed?
Thanks,

Likely no need to let it die -- a hard reset (hold the power and vol down for a very long time) should bring you back to the bootloader (hopefully). It'll seem like a good long while -- keep pressing.
From there, select 'fastboot' and press the power button, then plug in to your computer (USB). That'll show USB on the fastboot line.
Then, on your computer, open a command window (presuming you're using Windows) in the SDK platform-tools directory and type:
fastboot devices
If that gives back your device ID, you're at least at a reasonable fastboot. I'd flash a good recovery (I use PhilZ, and while it might be foreign to you (CWM style), it lets you load a ROM via OTG cable over USB if you have such a cable -- if not, hopefully sideload works for you in TWRP if you stick with that) -- just to be sure you have a good recovery.
Then, reboot into recovery.
Your kernel (boot.img) apparently is garbage, so hopefully you can either put a ROM on USB and flash from that (OTG) or adb sideload it. All the ROMs normally have a good kernel so would flash your boot.img properly during install. Were me me, I'd flash O.M.J's stock rooted ROM just so you at least get back to some place of sanity).
If that all fails, you might have to RUU and start over.
Let us know and we'll help out.

ok. can you use adb push in fastboot? also i noticed that my captive buttons blink when i tried to turn off my phone. don't know if that means anything.
OMG it worked! Thank you so much. I uber appreciate it. Today I learned a ton about how android works and how to use adb and fastboot. While the processed about gave me a heart attack i did learn a lot. I can not believe how great of a resource xda is. The knowledge of everyone on here is incredible. I cant thank you enough.
Thanks all,

Before installing a rom zip from twrp recovery, as soon as i got the successful message i proceeded to format my internal storage. Now the rom is stuck with bootloop , i have a twrp recovery installed which is fairly (not too much) old though, also adb sideload does not work (the recovery always tells that adb sideload is starting). Also that i do not have usb-debugging on. Also, though the recovery has the option to mount otg, it doesnt seem to work. Also i am not able to access the fastboot and flashmode by just pressing the volume up/down while inserting the usb cable. To enter into the recovery i need to switch on the device and hold power for 12 secs and then press the volume down. This leads me to the bootloader using which i can reach the recovery. Any help or advise is appreciated. Thank You
You didn't say if you tried to RUU. At this point, I'd download the RUU from here and run it. It's the first link in the OP. If you are s-on, make sure to lock your bootloader first.
Thanks for the reply coal686.
How can i lock my bootloader ?
Coz i do not have access via fastboot or adb.
Neither i can connect an otg.
even adb sideload doesnt seem to work.
Added later :
Also that though my bootloader shows fastboot, my device isnt detected and it always stays in <waiting for device> stage.
Finally, adb sideload started working... Htc one restored
Thanks for the RUU suggestion though...
May be usefull next time
I have not received the OTA update to Marshmallow yet and getting impatient so I'm attempting to sideload the update myself. I've installed the SDK and drivers. The device is listed when I use 'adb devices' at the command prompt and it allows me to boot into the bootloader. But from there it disconnects from my computer and I'm not able to push the update to the device. I get "error: device '(null)' not found". Any advice?
In the bootloader you use fastboot, not adb...
I rarely use adb, but I do believe you need to be booted into Android or the recovery (a custom one).
Edit: some reading for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/noob-read-adb-fastboot-how-help-t3006500

Ok, but all the instructions I'm finding online to sideload the OTA say to type "adb sideload [the full name of the file].zip". This is after enter Recovery Mode and select "apply update from adb"
I typed "fastboot devices" and my device came up in the bootloader. I click into Recovery Mode and the computer makes the disconnect sound. That's where I'm cut off.
Have you tried unplugging and plugging in the usb again after entering recovery?

I ended up trying NRT and caused even more problems at first, so I ended up just flashing the update instead of sideloading it. I was freaked out for a while because it was stuck in the boot sequence but as of right now, it's working and I have 6.0.
Yay!
ok, sideloading is for twrp recovery. but thats not needed anymore as you can just move files in and out of twrp without adb. flashing factory images is only via fastboot while you are in bootloader. adb and fastboot are different.
Hi there,
I had installed TWRP on my HTC One mini 2, but accidentally "wiped" system, sdcard and external sdcard. I'm now trying to enter Recovery but the procedure isn't working anymore (before wiping I could enter Recovery mode manually by following the procedure). When I connect my phone to my computer, I get an error message ""This device cannot start. (Code 10)". Before wiping the device, it was detected and I could use ADB and FASTBOOT. I've search a lot on internet but can't solve this issue.
I hope someone can help me so that I can enter recovery and install another ROM.
Thanks

Hi Kativiti,
Thanks for your reply. I have already downloaded those files and tried the USB drivers on two different laptops and different USB ports, but the drivers aren't installed. Without the drivers I can't execute the adb commands.
Do you have any other other suggestions?
Thanks.

need a bit more info to try help better.
are you able to enter HBOOT then FASTBOOT?
Is the device recognized in laptop? "fasboot devices"
When you try to enter recovery what happens? error? black? anything?
are you using original HTC cable?
I can't enter either hboot or recovery. When I follow the procedure, the phone just reboots and nothing else is happening. When it reboots, I can see the HTC logo.
I have tried to install the drivers on four different laptops but the phone isn't being recognized and thus can't use any adb or fastboot commands. I'm using the original usb cables I got with this phone.
Please advice.

you should be able to enter HBOOT. if you doing it right and still cannot enter them you'll need to send phone to HTC.
Ok. I was able to enter HBoot before I formated/wiped the system and sdcard location. Can you confirm that I should be able to enter HBoot even after formating/wiping the whole phone?
Thanks.
