Things to note when rooting.
Your phone warranty will be voided meaning samsung won't held responsible for your rooted phone if you decide to send your phone to them if there is any hardware problem.
If you still want to root it, here goes:
1. Download the stock firmware of your phone on sammobile (depends on your country and service provider)
2. Put your phone into download mode (off and on your phone. When it goes to Samsung title screen, press home, off and volume down button at the same time.)
3. Connect your pc to your phone and open odin.
4. Check and see if the message shows pass.
5. Under bootloader, open the md5 file that you downloaded before.
6. Start and wait till it finish.
7. Check your phone and reconfigure as if you have a new phone.
EDIT: This will reformat your phone to the stock rom that Samsung has.
If you want to use custom rom, there are a lot of roms that can be found here:

Sorry but this is not the way to root a i9305 dude, your just telling him to install a stock rom that he already has. he needs to root it.
Noob friendly explanation for rooting i9305 with CF auto root
warranty will be void hereby. steps to root the phone in this order:
* download Odin3 v3.09 here, right click and ''open as administrator'' on your pc
* download CF auto root for i9305 here and unzip it to get the CF auto root .tar md5 file
* in Odin, in the option section you should check the boxes of auto reboot / F. reset time and uncheck re-partition!!
* enable usb debugging in your device in developer options, if you dont see developer options, go to ''about phone'' and tap the buildnumber 7 times and developer options should be visible now (this part is not strictly necessary, just in case if your device is not recognized by pc or odin)
* turn off device now, and put it in odin downloadmode by pressing and holding VOLUME DOWN - HOME - POWER buttons at the same time till you see the ''samsung galaxy sIII GT-i9305'' text, then you let go the buttons and it will boot into downloadmode
* in odin, click AP button and select the CF auto root .tar md5 file that you have extracted earlier
* now connect your i9305 to pc with usb cable (in odin under message box, it should say added!)
* now your ready to hit START button, after finished your device will reboot and will be rooted There is a chance that after reboot some message like ''supersu has stopped'' will popup, DONT worry read further...
after you have rooted the device, there will be a app called ''SuperSU''. but its a older version of the app and its ''SU binary'' needs to be updated. go to playstore and under my apps search for supersu, it should state that it needs to be updated, do that and restart your phone
configure the settings of supersu after the reboot as you like.
for deleting or freezing some apps, download Titanium Backup app (pro version recommended for optimal usage) from playstore. open it and supersu will ask you for permission, grand it and your ready to delete or to freeze apps.
Thats all
You can root with:
POOT: This app is a one click root app. No computer needed
Framaroot: Framaroot is a oneclick root app . No computer needed
This is the most popular one!
Z4Root: Z4Root is an oneclick root app . No computer needed

Dude why you never do any research before asking? There are tutorial on how to root S3 everywhere, yes, I mean EVERYWHERE!
@nikctsh can you send me a link?

Check your device model ! Settings -> About device -> Model number. See the third post for exact supported model numbers. If your device is a totally different model, it will not work (may even brick) !
CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.
Donate
CF-Root has been available for many devices and has clocked over 8 million downloads. This is not even counting custom ROMs that already include it. Don't be a leech, buy me a beer (and use the "Thanks" button!). Imagine if every CF-Root user has donated me $1...
What's installed
- SuperSU binary and APK
- Stock recovery
Installation and usage
Flash the CF-Auto-Root package as PDA in ODIN (details on how to do that are in next post), and your device should reboot into a modified recovery (signified by a large red Android logo) and it will install SuperSU for you and restore the stock recovery, and reboot back into Android.
If you don't get to the red Android logo, boot into recovery manually ("adb reboot recovery", or boot while holding Power+VolUp+Home).
Using this root increases your flash counter. You should run Triangle Away (see below) after rooting to reset the counter. Note that if you want to run custom kernels or custom recoveries, your flash counter will be set to 1 at every boot. Either configure Triangle Away to reset the counter at every boot (Play version only) or only reset the counter when you need to go into warranty.
Did you see the red Android logo during rooting, but SuperSU does not appear? This may sometimes occur due to left-over files and settings, however, you can usually install SuperSU from Google Play at this stage and it'll just work.
Not included - Triangle Away
Triangle Away can be used to reset the flash counter after installing CF-Root. The flash counter keeps track of how many custom firmwares you have flashed, as this voids warranty. (No idea what this about ? Read up on it, you will want to use this !)
Not included - adbd Insecure
As this CF-Root does not include a custom kernel, adb shell does not have root access by default (you can still get it by typing su inside the shell), nor is adb remount supported, nor will adb push and adb pull work on system files. adbd Insecure can be used to remedy this situation. (No idea what this is about ? Don't worry about it !)

ODIN Installation (detailed)
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Unzip the attached Odin3-vX.X.zip file
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
- NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, hold VolUp+Power (for several seconds) to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.
New to Samsung? Unfamiliar with Odin? Think all the above is a hassle? Get used to it. It's very simple, and us Samsung folk use Odin (or Mobile ODIN ) for everything! It's so very very convenient once you get used to it. Notice the 30 second comment above? For experienced users, the entire process indeed takes only 30 seconds!
You may now optionally want to install and run Triangle Away to reset the flash counter.

Do you have a blue progress bar on screen below the Android ?
If it's full, just reboot the phone.
45 min, may have a problem? HELP!
Just reboot your phone. Pull the battery, hold power button, whichever works. Then see what happens.
DONT PANIC. Nothing bad has happened.

Not the tab, but ODIN had a bunch in the lower left. succeed 0/failure 0 and the last was please wait.
I think it's a driver problem as I did root something else a few weeks ago? But there was a SAMSUNG driver in device manager with no exclamations.
Was a driver problem in win7 64b. Rooted now and Ti backup works great. Thanks a bunch.
I'm a newbie with the rooting and custom rom installation, I've actually never done one before attempting in on my phone a SM-G730A mini S3, I have searched online and was unable to find the factory rom for this device or instructions how to install.
I was able to root my phone using king root, Then I started removing all the factory programs that ill never used. It was great until a few days ago I removed 2 programs that affected my phone operates. It now gets stuck on the at&t screen when powering on, but the funny thing is that if someone calls me, the screen pops up for me to answer.
Issues with my phone: gets stuck on at&t screen, no home screen at all, only way to access apps is through S voice.
I first started looking into the custom rom because I wanted wi-fi calling since the phone signal is low on this phone. I appreciate any help on this. Thanks

I think you should reflash your current firmware version via Odin3. You can get stock ROMs from sammobile.com/firmware. You will lose your root access and you will get these system apps back what you deleted before.
I download it to my SD card and then what? excuse my newbie questions
those stock roms from sammobile youll need to flash via odin / heimdall

Firmwares from SamMobile are only flashable via Odin3 on your PC/Laptop. Move your downloaded firmware to your PC/Laptop and unzip it. Move the ...HOME.tar.md5 file to your desktop.
1. Now download Odin3 and install the drivers for your phone.
2. Open Odin3 as Admin to avoid errors or "Fail" messages while flash. (If you use Windows XP then open Odin like always) and make sure only "Auto reboot" and "F.reset" are checked.
4. Close all Samsung Kies process in task manager to avoid errors. (ignore this if you don't have Kies installed)
5. Tap on PDA/AP and choose the ...HOME.tar.md5 file (wait until Odin finish check the MD5 check sum)
6. Now on your phone. Turn off your device. Then hold volume down + home button + power button till you see a "Warning!!" screen and continue with volume up.
7. Connect your device to your PC/Laptop via USB.
8. Wait until Odin detect your device. (You will see a blue box) If your PC/Laptop install the drivers again then wait a moment.
9. If everything is OK then you can start flashing. (A flash process take up to 10 Min, so be patient)
10. Now your phone should reboot and you're done.
Don't forget you will lose ROOT access and you will get your system apps back what you deleted before.
DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Newbie Help
I am getting ready to do a first attempt at rooting on a Samsung S3 mini, G730A. I don't know how to get the Samsung USB driver onto the desktop because I'm not sure where it's actually located. I downloaded the Samsung Driver Zip and it's loaded on my C: drive but didn't find anything is there that seemed specific to that phone. I did locate what appears to be the generic Android device USB driver for this phone through Device Manager and put that on the desktop but not sure that is the one that I'll need when I go root. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Root Galaxy S5 SM-G900F on Android 5.0 Lollipop with CF-Auto-Root
I updated from 4.4.2 rooted to the newest 5.0 this Post but is lost my root i Try this one and it works fine und was easy. Now my device are rooted , before i do this steps i installed mobile odin and i Checked the butten Auto Restart because it didn´t restart.
Using the CF-Auto-Root file by XDA developer Chainfire, you can root the European variant of Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F), which recently received Android 5.0 Lollipop stock firmware upgrade with build G900FXXU1BNL2.
The CF-Auto-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock Samsung firmwares and considered as the quickest and easiest way of rooting Android powered devices.
If you have already installed Android 5.0 on your Galaxy S5 and now wish to gain root access, check out the following root method.
Key notes
Ensure that you have installed necessary USB drivers for Galaxy S5
Enable USB Debugging Mode on phone to connect it with the computer and use Android SDK with it. [Navigate to Settings>> About phone>> tap Build number seven times. A pop up will appear, that reads, 'You are now a developer.' Go back to the Developer options and check USB debugging and click OK.]
As the tutorial is likely to wipe out all data of the phone, create a backup using custom recovery
Check the battery percentage of the phone, it should be at least 80%
Rooting the device will void the manufacturer's warranty
The CF-Auto-Root file works on with Galaxy S5 SM-G900F and flashing this on any incorrect variant might brick the device. Check the model number of the phone by navigating to Settings>> About device>> Model number

this method not working with me
CF root works with G900F on Android 5.0
Hi guys,
I tried to use CF autoroot to do the thing on my g900f. Seemed like it worked, but when I was reading the recovery (when installing root kit) i noticed "restoring files", "unmounting system" and I had a bad feeling about it. It was right. After phone rebooted I saw SuperSU app but when I launched it it said "Super SU binary is not installed and superSU can not install it..." and there was no root access... Then I decided to downgrade it to 4.2.2, but first I installed TWRP recovery, rebooted a phone and the root which I did before started working without any problem. So, Before using CF-Autoroot, make sure you have installed TWRP latest recovery. A lot of tutorials online didn't mention it. So my G900F on android 5.0 is fully rooted.

The problem is that, i cant root it, my phone can't read sd card anymore, so I'm trying to root my device with odin, if I can at least change my recovery mode and read internal storage it would be great...

HERE : i think this will help you out , but be patience and use common sense when rooting also I AM JUST HERE TO HELP , so DO NOT BLAME ME IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE , BUT I CAN SAY THAT IF YOU FOLLOW STEPS YOU WON`T HAVE ANY TROUBLE,
DO DOWNLOAD ESSENTIALS BEFORE FOLLOWING STEPS, FIRTS READ ALL THEN MAKE YOU MIND HOW TO DO IT :
1: ORIGINAL FIRMWARE FROM HERE you will need it to extract original kernel after rooting, or if something goes wrong when rooting
2: SAMSUNG USB DRIVER FOR WIN/MAC.
Make sure that you have backup the data, apps and settings from your Samsung device such as SMS, MMS, Call Logs, Contacts, Images, Audios, Videos, Bookmarks, Wi-Fi, APN settings and MMS settings etc as this process is going to wipe every data from your device.
3. Check of security suites such as antivirus and firewall whether they are disabled on your Computer.
4. You need to turn on the Enable USB Debugging on your Samsung Galaxy S i9070. This can be done simply by following the path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’ and ticking the USB Debugging option box.
5. Please put your battery in charge and make sure that it was charged to at least 80%.
Advice: Before going to start the root process you must go to phone settings->click about phone and look for basedband version number. Note down that number in notepad and save it on the desktop.
Steps and Procedure for Rooting Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070:
1. Download working ODIN FROM HERE AND Working root package only I9070 from attachement to PC.
2. Once you have downloaded the file, then you need to extract the zip file in the PC.
3. After extraction is done.
4. Launch the Odin application in the computer.
5. Turn off the device in order to enter into download mode. For that do like this press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and Power On the device simultaneously. After 1 min you will get a download mode with green android robot image.
6. Connect your device to the Computer via USB data cable while Odin is open. Once your device get connected, ID:COM section turns yellow in colour. If it doesn’t than you need to reconnect your device.
7. In Odin tool you need to two select two files into their respective fields.
NOW YOU WIL ALSO BE NEEDING A PIT FILE , i have attached both version 8gb and 16 gb PIT FILE choose from there if 8gb then 8gb and vice-versa
8.Click PIT tab and then select the GT-I9070_EUR_XX_8G/16GB.pit file from the extracted folder.
Once you selected the file left side Re-partition filed will be tick marked automatically. So you need to uncheck it manually. For more idea see the below picture.
b) Click PDA section and then select the rootkernel.tar.md5.
c) You need to uncheck all other option except ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F Reset Time’.
Click on ‘Start’ button and wait for the process to get completed. The Samsung Galaxy S device will reboot automatically.
9. Now you must try to install Superuser and Busybox from Google Play Store . Once you installed both apps then your device will be rooted successfully. check using root checker app.
Time to switch back to stock original kernel basedband firmware version number. Because above we used kernel for rooting the device have some problems like sudden reboots and lags. So that you need to install exact kernel to the device again. BUT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO ALL THAT , JUST INSTALL ANY CUSTOM ROM / CM11 /cm10 etc ,which has tuned own kernel you will not be needing any of this in the follwoing steps.
HERE READ THIS XDA FORUM TO EXTRACT YOUR ORIGINAL FIRMWARE KERNEL
AFTER THAT AGAIN FOLLOW STEPS
1. Run the Odin application again in the PC.
2.Turn off the device and Boot into Download mode. For that press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together and Power On the device.
3. Connect the device to PC via USB cable.
4. Click on PDA tab and select the file which you downloaded recently. I selected (YOURKERNEL).tar.md5 .
5. Click on Start and the process will be completed. The device will be reboot automatically.
That’s it your device is rooted perfectly without any problems. In case if you find any issues with above procedure comment here:good:
good luck

couldn't find PDA on Odin3 v3.10, i installed with Odin3 v1.87 and i got bootloop after step 8c
@knurd : in latest version PA is same as PDA , AND DID ODIN SHOWED SUCCESS after finishing installation of root kernel ?
if you getting boot loop just go to recovery ,clear/delete cache and reboot 99 out of 100 times it solves bootloop.

hello
i search whole xda and many chinese site for rooting A9 A9000ZHU1BQE1 but there is nothing. becuase this model just release in afew country and no body work on it worldwide
but i finally find a way for rooting. (after searching alot chinese!! site)
first of all cf auto root doesnt work on this firmware.dont work on it, i see some site root with cf auto root on A9000ZCUxxxxx model but not work on A9000ZHUxxxxx (ZHU is hong kong firmwire and ZCU is open china firmwire)
IMPORTANT:
you should do several work before start the rooting.dont worry its easy
1. enable usb debugging (its easy search in google)
2. enable OEM unlock (its easy too.search in google)
3. install CROM service.apk . its for unlocking bootloader. (i install this from galaxy app in phone, just like other app.then go to CROM and unlock bootloader automaticly.its samsung company app and safe.)
you need just 3 thing (i attach them to post)
1. twrp for A9000 (15mb)
2. supersu( i use 2.82 version. put supersu file in phone memory or memory card )
3. odin soft (recommended version 3.10.6)(its a soft for pc,sry i said all things that amator members dont confuse )
after doing important thing that i said above ....
HERE IS METHOD
1:
go your phone to downloading mode. (just turn off phone and then press volume down + home + power button. if you couldnt search in google.its easy
2:
A: open odin in pc with administrator. (right click on odin and click on RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR)
B: connect phone to pc ,when you connect phone odin said "added" with blue color
now click on AP in odin and select TWRP file i attach to post.dont change other option in odin.)
c: now click on start in odin.(if odin freeze and said "not responding" dont worry just wait a few minute and dont close odin!!!)
d: after odin finish its job. odin said "pass" with green color .now phone restarting automaticly)
3:
now you should go to twrp recovery.( after phone come up,again turn off phone.and go to "recovery mode" .just turn off phone and press volume up + home + power button). if the language is chinese, change it to english(easy just press right button in first screen of twrp.or search in google).now you should install supersu with twrp .for that press install on twrp and find supersu file you put in phone memory ... .after installing press reboot.(dont need wipe cache) .
4:
after phone come up android, check supersu icon must come to your phone app.if it doesnt appear ,install it from google play .and then install "root checker" app in your phone from google play, and check for root.
finish. its done. your phone root. the whole method take 1 5 minutes
if other firmwire of A9 A9000 ,for example A9000ZCUxxxxx do this method with twrp file that i attach .if its work or not plz say in post that other one know.
Hello Sir, I think I have the same Tablet, Baiduzhe A9000, with MT6797 Android 8.0. The recovery is not working, and the manufacturer is not providing the ROM file. Will this above method work for me? Please help me
I just confirmed that my device is the same MT 6582. Sir, kindly tell me how to flash or root. My device is corrupted.
Rooting made easy
Download Kingo root app, no need to use PC, it worked on my similar tablet (tab910, mediatek, mt6797)
Google kingoapp
Now I just need to find the ROMs (android versions higher than 4.4 which is compatible with my device)
P.s. if it doesn't work, try installing the PC version & follow steps from the website
