CronMod requires your rom to have init.d support. Stock roms doesn't have init.d enabled by default. But you can flash any custom kernels like cf root to enable init.d support. Once you have enabled init.d support, you can then install CronMod. Here is the link to cf root kernel,
CF-Root adaptation for Gingerbread
Hope I Helped

You have an ext partition on the SD Card right? If you already have an ext partition, then make sure that you have set the right permission to 40int2ext. The right permission is rwx-rx-x. If you don't have one, take a backup of the SD Card and then go to CWM> Advanced> Partition SD Card> Size (1 GB anymore than that and the system will lag)> Swap (0MB) and finally wait for it to say "Partitioning Done !!!". If you already have 40int2ext file on init.d folder, then just reboot. If you have deleted it, then mount /system from CWM and install it again. That should do it. Do post the result. Hope I Helped

Need help for S5839i ext4

Hello,
I'm a little lost, I looked at the forum to help me, but I still can not do.
I would like to run the extension ext4 on my s5839i
At first I tried ext4 with Razodroid (but if you have another ROM do not hesitate to tell me)
as I could not do it I turned on original firmware and flash a kernel that accept ext4. But no interesting results.
So, here I am really lost....
My questions:
- What recovery do you recommend?
- How to run my Ext4 on my ACE?
Thank you very much for your help, because after trying a lot of TUTO, kernel, ROM, script (cronmod) I still do not have conclusive results. :silly:

For me I use cwm5.It's up to you.
For EXT4 flash this Format-All-Ext4.zip by Rafael.Baugis.It will reformat all partitions to ext4 except sd-ext.Make sure that you have your custom rom in sdcard for reflashing and that you did a backup of your data.

Do you have an ext4 partition? It is better to have a 1 GB ext4 partition. You can create a partition using 4EXT recovery.

Ok, Check if your partitions are aligned. Use 4EXT recovery to check for and correct partition alignments.
Secondly, use the APK or the zip file version of m2sd if you want to.

done check and it say is perfectly aligned.
secondly i used APK and it say "The init.d startup script could not be copied to the system partition.".
note that i install other rom and a2sd work great without any of this error
I'm also having the same problem as dev.mahmoud.
I installed the latest nightly from Evervolv from today. Busybox configured with no problem. When I try to install the script, I get: The init.d starup script could not be copied to the system partition.

[Q] CoCore-E 6.2 cwm external SDcard not mounting

Hey, I'm new to this forum and to android. I have the Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070, it has JB 4.1.2 rooted, and I've installed the CoCore-E 6.2 cwm kernel. I want to install the Pure Vanilla mod, but my problem is that when I'm on recovery mode I can't backup my current rom because the external SDcard is not mounted. On the recovery mode there is an option to mount the SDcard but whenever I trie to mount it, it says "error mounting /sdcard". Sorry if this question has been asked before, I just couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. It would be really nice if you could help a noob out. Thanks in advance .

u don't need to mount sd to take a backup. just go to backup and restore and take a backup!
and pure vanilla is not a mod, its a rom!

Do you see anything from external sd? If not, you need to repartition it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning

Yes, the external sdcard is mounted when on Android, and I'm able to transfer stuff on it. I've formatted it to fat32 but no change, should I repartition it anyway ?
Repartitioning it to FAT fixed the problem, now my sd is mounted when on cwm recovery. But when I started a backup it was going pretty well until it stopped and said "Error while making a backup image of /data!". I guess the univers is against me installing this rom .

Well, let's start!
You should be root and you should have CWM 5.0.2.6 Fixed flashed
Code:
1. You'll need a coustom rom or a stock with a custom kernel (to get init.d support folder)
2. Your sdcard should be partitioned, use partition magictools to do it.
3. When you'll get It ready, download int2script in the link I posted avobe
4. Boot into recovery
5. Mount and system >>> mount /system
5. Mount and system >>> mount /data
6. Mount and system >>> mount /sd-ext
7. Mount and system >>> format sd-ext
8. Go back and install the zip
9. Reboot
10. Done!
BE CAREFUL FORMATING THE SD-EXT AND NOT YOUR SD CARD!!!

Problem with installing cronmod int2ext

Hello,
I am a noob with a little experience in using custom roms on a HTC Wildfire S. My WFS is broken en since today iam a ace user. I have rooted the SGA and im using CWM recovery and installed the CM9 TW-rom from Sky-walker. GREAT ROM by the way. I want to use Int2ext cronmod script but i cant get it working. Ive already tried different things. With the WFS i always used it with a lot of different roms and had never any problems.
When installing i have followed the instructions of croniccorey.
I have format my sd-card and created a partition using CWM
Also tried it with SpaceCakers SGS and AOSP GB.
And already mounted system and data.
Does anybody have suggestions what to do?
Thanks!

Which script did you use?
Mount /system, /data, /sd-ext and flash it, It should work fine
Try to put it in init.d folder and set the permissions manually using a file browser, then reboot your device
Yes! It worked. Did a clean install mounted data enz. and fixed permissions with cwm.I am using int2ext+ now. Thanks for the input.

Apps are not installing after Int2Ext+
Hi,
I was using Apocalypse ROM with CronMod Int2Ext+ (Ext2 partition on SD) and everything was working fine. Recently, I downloaded a new ROM - The Ultimatum and installed Int2Ext+. It installed correctly, however I could not install many apps after that. Downloading from market would give an error. This problem is happening for only those several set of apps.
Can someone pls guide me as to what the problem might be. I'm kind of new here.

Kunal

I tried the above with link2sd and darktremor a2sd as well, but all were giving the same problem. Before installing any app2sd script the applications were installing correctly. Only after installing the script they stopped working. Is there some script on The Ultimatum ROM which is clashing with the above app2sd scripts?
I know I should post this on the ROM page, however I do not have the priviledges.

AFAIK The Ultimatum rom has already an int2ext script it might be the problem (swap all kernel) so follow he steps to install it correctly, you only need to mount /sd-ext and format this partition before flahs the rom to clean your sd-ext partition.
If you select fire kernel then you'll need int2ext script
1. download it and put it in sdcard's root
2. boot into cwm
3. mount /system /data and /sd-ext
4. format /sd-ext
5. flash the script
6. enjoy
