Talk to type it doesn't work you can't erase words that you didn't say.. it refuses to let me backspace and delete whatever it types you cannot backspace and erase like you used to be able to. Google leave something that works alone
You cant backspace.. anyone else have that issue? never had this problem on my razr m. if it didnt type what i said right i simply backspaced and corrected it.. but now backspace doesnt work over something King Google wants typed

does anyone know if this can be done? it sometimes pops up when i can enter text, and i always use the hardware keyboard, so i dont need the soft one. can you disable it in the registry?
never mind, i found a way of doing it. for those who want to know its like this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\AllowChange=1
Change the above value to AllowChange=0
Actually, this reg key seems to disable the soft keyboard altogether! (the icon is still there but tapping on it does not bring the kbd anymore). I'd like to have a way to have the soft kbd not show up automatically, but still work when I want to bring it up manually. Anyone?

This gives you an alternate soft-keyboard, which has no keys. So, select this one and there is nothing to pop up.
Be aware that this version is free, but there are later versions from the same author which have more features (just what you don't want) and you have to pay for.
I have not tried this on WM6, but it worked fine on earlier versions.

I just tried it on WM6, and although it does what it is supposed to do, it was impossible to then return to a normal soft-keyboard, so I had to uninstall and reset.
Oh well...
In a text message, word document, etc., i try to delete something with the backspace key.....obviously. But it deletes only words in front of it, it does not "backspace". Hopefully that made sense. I have a feeling it is a windows mobile issue and i might have a wrong function on?

this is going to sound like a odd fix but it is what I have to do with my phone to get the backspace key to work, if the backspace is working only as a delete key, try hitting Fn then the backspace, after that mine usually starts working as it should
I'm having the stangest bug pop up on phonemypc. I have used it often but recently it multiplies what I type in the strangest way. I'll try to explain but it's strange. whichever letter I type it types out each letter I typed before in addition to the letter for instance if I typed the word "stone" it would come out as "sstsstosstsstonsstsstosstsstone" this is how it happens letter by letter.
1.s -i typed s
2.sst -i typed t
3.sstssto -i typed o
4.sstsstosstsston - i typed n
5.sstsstosstsstonsstsstosstsstone - i typed n
All I can say for certain is that It never happened on froyo. I always used DG roms like cognition or perception but now I'm using continuum 6.1. I also used perception II but I don't remember if I tried phonemypc while I was using it. I'm not sure if this is a gingerbread bug or a continuum bug. I also have problems with splashtop remote desktop but it is a different issue where I cannot type at all or the text takes very long to register.
has anyone had a similar problem or thinks they know what happens.
Has anyone even experienced this issue before? even on a PC?

happened to me when word suggestion and auto-complete was on.
Try to turn it off. No idea how to solve it.

I have used the gingerbread keyboard that came with the rom and the gingerbread keyboard from the market. I never thought to change the keyboard. Might it provide a temporary fix if I switch to the samsung keyboard or some other?
We've not heard of anybody having problems with those keyboards, but so far, all "key repeat" issues have been keyboard related. Please try another, and let us know your result.
I'll try that out next time I flash a gingerbread rom. I'm back to froyo for now because I need phonemypc.

No issues here with Swype on 2.3.4 GB ROM
few questions for the guys who know, to start i appreciate any input:good:
ok had this issue on my htc mini if i remember right, but i just got the one 32g and i have a facebook feed in my gallery..... pisses me off took a few calls to att and tey got it to go away, well somehow its back and i dont want it and i called them back and they cant help get rid of it.... how can i get this feed GONE!!!!!
my gmail has a auto sync option what is that all about?
my spell prediction sucks big total ass, i type i it changes to k.... its all f'ed up and i add the words but sometimes it changes the words automatically and i dont get the chance to type the word i want because it changes it half way through the typing.... can i change it where it will just show missed spelled words and not auto correct?
typing on the phone sucks,i typed just fine on my mini and on the one its a act of god to type right.... is there something im missing or some settings i can adjust?

Log out of facebook then settings/apps/facebook / disable
you can also disable it in the blinkfeed settings

Again Settings/apps/gmail/uncheck notifications and remove from your sync settings

this is usually due to the wrong keyboard being used
change it to a different language reboot and then back to your's and reboot

Ever since I got my One, through both major updates, I've had a problem with capitalization in Swype. Namely, when I'm typing a word out that I know isn't in the dictionary, I will tap shift for a capital letter, the shift key highlights signifying that I am, in fact, in shift mode, and start typing only to find that the first letter comes out lower case anyway. I then delete what I've typed and start over again, the second time working. It happens probably 8 to 9 times out of every 10 and I'm pretty damn sick of it. Anyone else have this problem? Know a cause? Have a solution? Please let me know!

I had the same problem with Swype, along with a few others. It got so annoying for me that I just quit using Swype and went to the Google keyboard with gesture typing. I'm very close now to giving up on gesture typing altogether.
I'm also interested if someone has a solution to the Swype problem.
