[Q] Failed recording calls - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have S3 mini, I8190, pre-rooted stock rom I8190XXAMG1.
In the past I managed to record calls using "RMC: Record My Call" application. But, in the past few months I found out that the application doesn't record at all - it always fails. After I reboot my phone it records calls and at some point it stops doing that. I can't say if it's number of calls or time after boot dependent.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I tried several applications instead - still no success: they all fail to record. Some of them give an error and some just not recording at all, without and messages. In all application I tried changing the settings, trying every possible combination.
In the past few days I tried the "SecPhone.apk" hack. No difference, it works exactly as "Record My Call" does.
Does anyone facing/faced this problem before and can advise what to do? How to solve this issue?
I forget to mention that I also tried resetting the phone to manufacture default settings - no change..
Thanks!

Hi!
Since I'm not familiar with it, can you please give more info about it: what is this app? where can I download it from? etc....
Thanks!

Well, you can get the app itself from Google. Just search "xposed installer apk download" and install it on your device. Then go into the Xposed app and tap on framework tab. After that click install/update and restart your phone. When it boots up, you'll have enabled xposed
Now again inside the xposed app tap on download tab and use the search button in the top right corner and search for "call recording", install the module, go in modules tab, enable it by ticking the box next to its name and again reboot the phone. When it starts up again and you receive a call, you'll have the option to record it when you answer it
Also it's worth checking out all available xposed modules when you have some free time. To see them all just tap on download tab in xposed app and explore what each module does and download the ones you like, install them, go to modules tab, tick the little black box on the left of the module's name and reboot.
Remember : Each time you install a xposed module, you MUST enable it in modules tab and you MUST restart your device for changes to take effect.
Press the "Thanks" button if I helped even a little bit

Cool!
But as written at first, I already tried this hack by myself.
I do like this Xpose app!

I saw your screenshots, but I thought that the app you were using was broken or something. That's why I suggested this module. Sry that I couldn't help out, but hey - now you have xposed

Found a solution!
The app CallRecorder by skvalex does the job, even with bluetooth device connected!
I tried the trial for 5 days, and it's doing an excellent job - both side are perfectly sound!
Definitely worth the money.

Use Ad-free ad blocker. Your phone must be rooted though. If you are not rooted - Firefox is the easiest method—just download Firefox, and add the Adblock Plus extension, which you can find in the add-ons page in Firefox's settings.Hope this helps
there has to be an app that is running in the background that is causing this. Check in applications

Reflash ROM (after wiping on a safe kernel) if you can't seem to find the problem. Easiest way out

Fixed the problem. I installed 1 app called MovieTube. that rogue application caused this trouble
I had same ads. I put a post on banner ads up. Adaway did not stop it ,or any others. What I did was use 'auto start manager' in rom toolbox to find the app that had a reciever switched on and switched it off. That was simple though. It was an app that had no right to have such a reciever. A lot do need them to function.
its a recent app . Find it and take out.
I'm going to try the air push someone recommended to you (thx).
It's out of order

Ok Google everywhere (AOSP)

I am running CM 12 nightlies on my XT-1052. I want to enable the feature "Ok Google Everywhere" but it seems to he hidden. I tried typing and speaking ok google everywhere in the google search app like the CNET guide but couldn't get it to work. Since Cyanogen has beautifully incorporated the Contenxtual computing core with Shake to wake camera and Pulse notifications on pick up, i was wondering why waste the Natural language processing core and set the detection. But i am not able to find the option to do so. Any sort of help would be appreciated. Also i am using PA gapps 5.0.1 full.
You need to go into Google Now settings, select Voice and enable the "from any screen" option. But... On my xt1060 I try to enable it and only get the spinning circle... So there may be an issue with it.

I dont have that option. Seems to be hidden (screenshots attached). But i am not using google now which could be the reason?
I would say that's probably why you don't have the option. Install the GN launcher and see if it shows up. But apparently it's not working on CM12 anyways.
I did try it with Google Now enabled but same thing. I am using the Google Now Launcher; it came with the gapps package.
Same problem here, it seems that the mic is not working when I try to set the OK google detection

Cool. Does it work even when the phone is asleep? I can't find the option to do the same anywhere.
Edit: I had disabled store voice data in the account settings. The option is now available.

It works when the screen is on and unlocked. According to the voice training, it is supposed to work "with the screen on or when plugged in", but I just tried with it plugged in and the screen off, and again with it plugged in and the lock screen up... neither worked.

Yeah its not working for me either but the guys at Cyanogen will figure it. They are doing a great job with the device. Recent nightlies have been super stable and i know we'll get CM 12.1 (5.1) before Motorola release 5.0.2 smh.

[Q] Downloading Widgets Nexus 6 troubleshoot

Hi everyone, I have the AT&T Nexus 6 and I have tried downloading widgets from the Play Store but none of them shows in the widget drawer when I try to add one to my home screen. I have read reviews and forums saying that the apps/widgets need to be moved from the SD card to the device itself. The problem is that the nexus device does not even have an SD card slot so that option is not available. Can someone please help me ,is there an option to enable the widgets function without rooting? Thanks so much in advance.

I was informed by another member here that restarting system UI an accomplish the same thing without reboot. Just FYI.
How do I restart the system UI on Nexus 6? Sorry if I'm asking simple questions...I had a note 2 for almost 3 years so since switching to Nexus is a whole new experience...seems like I have to reboot every time after I install or uninstall an app for it to show/not show in my apps drawer.

Yes, I just searched everything under Developer Options and did not see anything about restarting the UI. There has to be another way other than rebooting which is very inconvenient. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue.

hi,
Firstly, i had " something "similar (issue)
I my case i was missing my "auto rotate" icon, in my shortcut notification bar. I managed to sort it out, eventually.
I would suggest, try the following... it might work for you.?
1. check your notification shortcut "edit" to see if its not there.
If not,
2 Go to Samsung Store, search for "Quic Panel Restore app its a Samsung app.Install and" run " it. (see screenshot)
App is suppose to fix missing shortcut icons.
Plse note, that missing shortcut icons, is a common
" bug "for Samsung devices.!
From the then S6 device's (big issues then) plus all other Samsung models afterwards.
(You can Google issue and see)
In my case, QuickPanel Restore did not fix, nothing..!
I then had a idea, and downloaded 3rd party app" Auto rotate widget "
install it and switched /activated Auto rotate.
My icon showed up in my notification shortcut bar.! !
Yes, it a Samsung software bug !
Problem is, if i uninstalled" Auto Rotate widget "
my Auto rotate icon disappears from notification shortcut bar.! O, yes...
i do have the Mobile Hot spot (see screenshot)
Good luck

hi,
no, you are correct.! I did a search now and it's not showing.
Previous occasions it showsed for me.
Samsung must have "pulled" app from App Store.
Have you tried my last suggestion,?
re look for similar 3rd party app "Mobile Hot-spot"
Google or check Play store?
Install and see if it "enables" Notification shortcut icon for mobile hot-spot.
This method, worked for me re Auto Rotate and still does...... "forces" icon to show. up in Notification bar.
Good luck
Post note
Did a quick search Play store.
One app "Quick Settings for Android" (has Mobile hot-spot)
and a few others similar apps you can install and try.
Also make sure your carrier has not blocked Mobile Hot-spot ?
(reason maybe why not showing? )

Looking for a few features for my Galaxy

Hello,
I am looking for a few features and I believe it is possible to find with a Xposed modules.
I have a root on Galaxy S7 Edge, latest Xposed installed (Android 7)
Currently I am using modules:
- All My...
- GravityBox
- YouTube AdAway
But I need module which allows to:
- unlock after double tap
- let YouTube play videos/music in background
- more intensive vibration after a knocking back button or a recent apps button
Open a special menu (same like we have in iPhones, after slide up starting from the home button), like in a GIF below

There's no Xposed module for this. Was earlier, but Google made it impossible to continue the development. What you can use now is a Magisk module, search for iYTBP in the Magisk thread.
