[Q] HTC One - Unable to install any ROMS

After reading about flashing custom ROMS onto my HTC One (m7_ul) I decided to give it a go. All went well, I rooted it, installed TWRP Recovery and installed Cyanogen Mod. A few days later my phone crashed and refused to get past the boot screen when booting normally.
I have since tried to reinstall a variety of custom ROMS using both TWRP and clockwork recovery. I've tried formatting various partitions too.
Now when I launch into TWRP it asks me for a password - I skip this and when I try to install a ROM I get the following error:
E: Unable to mount '/system'

I've never set a password, from what I've read, this happens when TWRP can't find certain partitions on the phone.

I flashed the stock recovery (obtained from htc1guru - matching up my modelid and cidnum) onto the phone and tried to do a factory reset. When I do, it seems to tries to boot into the factory recovery screen (gets as far as attached image), and then reboots, gets to the HTC splash screen and goes on an (endless?) restart loop.
Edit: Just seen your sig Guich, tried the stock recovery from the link there, and that just boots to a black screen before restarting

If the issues you listed in the first post are true, then you are toast.
However, I hope you were exaggerating only.
So, you need to either use a RUU or ADB Push/Sideload.
You said you installed ARHD 52, but now you have no OS.. That doesn't add up.
Can you still ADB PUSH?

1- next time just bump you own thread (after 24 hours) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674672
no need to double-thread!!
2- the reason nobody answered, is probably because we have no clue what you are doing: riffbox, SuperCID, locked bootloader, S-On = all very confusing
3- no functioning ROM = no S-Off
4- you need to have an unlocked bootloader to be able to flash custom stuff
5- maybe try a RUU.EXE

1- with SuperCID, I don't think the unlock token will work (if that's what you meant)
2- how are you able to flash TWRP if you are locked?? i think you're referring to stock recovery, and that's not going to help
==> you need to UNLOCK the bootloader or try running a RUU.EXE, try this one: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/

I was on STOCK ROM and I received OTA 'over the air', I agreed to installed and now I see a message at my homescreen. saying: Unauthorized device. This app is not compatible with your phone.
My homescreen is black i can't swipe etc. I can just normally type in my pin. I can still slide down the notification bar and go to my settings.
My phone is rooted but it is still with S-ON.
I've flashed stock bootloader and lock it.
I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_JB_50_S1_HTC_Europe_2.19.401.1_Radio_1237.21.28.0627_release_326125.zip with fastboot but it failed with error:
(bootloader) read zipped android_info fail
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
I've tried to ignore it, just do reboot but nothing has changed.
Then I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Nordic_5.17.402.6_Radio_E1237.29.35.0108_release_381671_combined_signed.zip but it failed with error:

Please advise what should I do?

If you are bootloader locked you should see if there is a full factory RUU image available at htcdev. This will put you back to fresh out of the box condition. What's your carrier? What is your Cid?

The first RUU will failed because it is an older version than yours and the second failed because it was the wrong version number .402 vs .401. Since, you are S-ON you can only run RUU that are the same version or higher. You also need to have a stock rom (which you have) and stock recovery before running the OTA. If you had a custom recovery installed then you need to install the stock recovery for your version. If you don't have one, you can get one from this site by downloading an OTA for your version and extracting the recovery.img from the firmware.zip file in the OTA.

[Q] Bricked HTC ONE phone, need desperate help!!

Hi guys, I am having some major issues with my HTC one phone. I was trying to install a rom (ViperOne), but that failed. I thought I knew what I was doing so I didn't wipe cache, etc. I went back into TWRP and tried to restore from backup (I had previously made a backup), but no backups were found! Since then, I've been trying many things. I just want to go back to a stock, fresh install of android. I am a noob at this and have no idea what to do next.
What I can do:
- Fastboot.
- ADB.
- Reach TWRP recovery, and flash other recoveries.
What I cannot do:
- Install other roms via TWRP.
When I try to install a .zip rom, here is the error that occurs:
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard'.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/cm-11/20141129-NIGHTLY.zip'

I'm very angry about this and I hope I do not have to buy a new phone.

What fastboot/OS version are you running if any?

...ah, I see you missed the command.
If you run this using fastboot:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
It'll spit out all the necessary information.
Do you want to upgrade to TWRP 2.7.1.1+? Just go for the latest. It generally has a pretty good chance of working.

You are S-ON, you're currently running 1.27.531.11. And you really need to go back and edit out your IMEI and SERIALNO.
S-ON means you can flash an RUU containing the same or higher version of the current software, you can't go back. To be on the safe side the download link below contains the RUU for the same version you currently have.
An RUU will restore your device to an out of the box condition with all the default software provided by HTC.

Got it working after like 15 hours. Would just like to thank you so much, was a simple fix. Whoever else stumbles upon this thread, consider updating your TWRP to the latest version.

Someone could clone your IMEI and do far worse things using that. So please go back and edit it out. Or plain delete the fastboot output.
