I was on STOCK ROM and I received OTA 'over the air', I agreed to installed and now I see a message at my homescreen. saying: Unauthorized device. This app is not compatible with your phone.
My homescreen is black i can't swipe etc. I can just normally type in my pin. I can still slide down the notification bar and go to my settings.
My phone is rooted but it is still with S-ON.
I've flashed stock bootloader and lock it.
I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_JB_50_S1_HTC_Europe_2.19.401.1_Radio_1237.21.28.0627_release_326125.zip with fastboot but it failed with error:
(bootloader) read zipped android_info fail
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
I've tried to ignore it, just do reboot but nothing has changed.
Then I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Nordic_5.17.402.6_Radio_E1237.29.35.0108_release_381671_combined_signed.zip but it failed with error:
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Please advise what should I do?
I advise you remove your imei from that info
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Where did You found PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Nordic_5.17.402 .6_Radio_E1237.29.35.0108_release_381671_combined_ signed.zip ??

If you are bootloader locked you should see if there is a full factory RUU image available at htcdev. This will put you back to fresh out of the box condition. What's your carrier? What is your Cid?

The first RUU will failed because it is an older version than yours and the second failed because it was the wrong version number .402 vs .401. Since, you are S-ON you can only run RUU that are the same version or higher. You also need to have a stock rom (which you have) and stock recovery before running the OTA. If you had a custom recovery installed then you need to install the stock recovery for your version. If you don't have one, you can get one from this site by downloading an OTA for your version and extracting the recovery.img from the firmware.zip file in the OTA.

Hi guys,
My phone bricked after I rooted my htc one 801e and attempted to install busybox. When I entered twrp recovery, most of the actions I did resulted in "unable to mount system"
Browsing around online, I came across some guides to restore stock ruu. i went and fastbot oem locked my phone and now I'm stuck. Lost recovery, (any attempt to access recovery only resulted in returning to fastboot menu) re-flashing recovery and/or ruu results in "FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)"
Does anyone have any solution(s) to this?

You need to unlock bootloader. What RUU you tried? Sounds like it was not official.

I tried to re-unlock bootloader but it doesnt work. Gave me signature error. as for the ruu, i tried both http: //www .androidruu .com/index.php?developer=M7 and Guru Reset versions. Both gave signature errors. Basically, trying anything seems to give signature error. Hence I cant install recovery nor can I unlock bootloader.
Hello all!
I'm an M7 user for almost 2 years and today I bought a used one for my girlfriend.
It came with the Viper one 7.01 rom.
This is way to complicated for my girlfriend and misses some standard stuff that she wants (can't even find the play store on it).
So I decided to get it back to a stock HTC version with Sense 5.5 (and update to 6.0).
I've now been busy a whole night, but I can't seem to get it to work. When using the RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_4.19.401.9_R_Radio_4A.23.3263.28_10.38r.1157.04L_release_353069_signed_2-1.exe file, it comes up with an 158 error. And when I try to flash it with fastboot and the Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.401.8.zip file, it gives me error: FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
I also tried with a Vodafone file (Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.161.1.zip), because the Phone came with a Vodafone bill. But this didn't work either...
I've managed to get it S-OFF with rumrunner and tried it Locked and unLocked. The tampered line is gone.
Here's the getvar all text:

I really have no idea what I should do next.
I just want this Phone to have the latest stock HTC one rom with sense 6.0, nothing more (and preferably future ota updates, if this is even possible).
But untill now I just can't flash any other rom.
I'm probably missing something and really hope one of you have the answer.
Gonna get some sleep now and try more tomorrow...

flash the 4.19.401.9 firmware first then flash the ruu. Its a well known issue of 4.xx.xxx.x RUUs, you have to flash the firmware first.
also check your MD5 to make sure your ruu isn't corrupted.
Thanks for your quick reply.
I flashed the firmware, it's now got the dark boot bootloader with firmware 4.19.401.9. But I still can't flash the ruu (exe file with correct md5). Comes back with an error 150.
Phone still boots up normally into Viper One 7.0.1
Also tried a different file download, didn't work.
Tried different computer, didn't work.
I'm gonna try some more stuff, but any help would be appreciated.

Well, I just managed to update with the RUU Zip M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.16_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318486_signed_2_4_decrypted.zip" file.
Now to see if I can get it to update to the latest version...
EDIT 2:
SUCCES!!! It installed the ruu fine (with bootloader locked) and it's now updating ota!!!

Why? You must flash the firmware that come with the RUU, not a modded firmware with the black bootloader...

With s-off you don't need to relock the bootloader to flash a RUU. Anyway glad to know that your problem is solved.
Well, I'm not that advanced with flashing and modding bootloaders, firmware and ruu's...
So I searched on the 4.19.401.9 firmware you told me to install and the only one I found was that one with the black bootloader. That's why I used it
Are you saying that if I would have flashed it with the firmware that came with the ruu, it might have worked right away?
But I only had the exe ruu file, so would that mean I had to extract the firmware from it, or download the zip somewhere?
As for locking the bootloader... I understood that if I want to get official HTC ota updates, that it has to be locked. Could have misunderstood, but at least it works great now and my girlfriend is happy as ever.
I have an M7 which currently has cm10 installed and unlocked using HTC Dev. I can't S-OFF becuase the HBOOT is 1.61 (I've tried all methods apart from sunshine but they've failed)
The phone is currently locked to o2 uk, and i got an unlock code but aparrently these only work if the phone is stock.
I currently have cm10 installed, and i need to install a stock rom and relock.
I've tried flashing a RUU but no luck.
Currently have TWRP RECOVERY.
any help greatly appreciated!

O2 UK RUU is the 2nd one down in the list, instructions on how to flash it are a bit further up http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
By the way, HBOOT 1.61 (which is the Lollipop HBOOT) Sunshine is the only way to s-off this HBOOT, dont waste your time trying other methods, they will fail, and Sunshine also requires a stock rooted rom, so after flashing the rom linked above, just flash a custom recovery, root it by flashing SuperSU 2.46.zip and then download and run sunshine.......and the alternative, live with s-on.
Thanks, I tried this method but flashing the rom failed. THe process went on for several minutes then ended in this:
sending 'zip'... (368766 KB) OKAY
sending time = 15.457 secs
writing 'zip'... (bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAIL12 signature verify fail
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Execution time is 421(s)
Now i can only boot into bootloader and not android.
after a couple of reboots i'm back into android. Thanks.

theres 2 reasons why you got those error's
1. either you are s-on and didnt relock your bootloader first
or
2. you didnt use the recommended HTC_fastboot.exe from the instructions, the normal fastboot wont work, you need to use HTC's
just to be sure, could you post your fastboot getvar all without imei and serial number please.
I did make sure to follow the instructions, i've double checked them and I did follow allt he steps including using htc's fast boot. Here are the results from getvar all

doesnt matter which rom your already on, it doesnt change the firmware, and you are already on the latest firmware 7.18.206.2, that RUU.zip should work fine, maybe there is a problem with the RUU.
there is a stock nandroid here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934549269 which you can restore through twrp recovery if you want to get back to full stock.

The phone is relocked.
What should I do to get a working european version, that can then finally be updated to Lollipop? Or alternatively how can I get to directly Lollipop?
Thanks for your help!
Zsolt
Finally managed to change to a european 4.2.2.
The page from where the above mentioned (KitKat) RUU was taken is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159.
On that page it was written that this version requires a new hboot version and I had an earlier one. So I went with an earlier RUU that fitted the actual hboot (2.23).
It is not easy to spot the relevant pieces in a wealth of information...
Now I can try to proceed with getting to Lollipop with gradual updates, if possible this way at all.
resolved
And at last following nice information, RUU and OTA file sources of xda I could apply OTAs successively I finally got Lollipop to my phone. Forum thanks went to all it concerns, guys!

I got a HTC ONE M7 O2 UK. I fully unlocked and installed ROM ViperOne.
Today I want to sell my phone and put it back everything where it was or including better. I had bad experience with ViperOne, so I want WWE last ROM.
I went to htc1guru and got the lastest RRU, but everytime I try to upgrade it, it get stuck on "Sending...".
Was thinking thats maybe because I'm trying to downgrade and isnt possible. but when it starts it says 1.9.401.2 or something like that, and the one im trying to installe it seems latest version over the one I have.
So what I should do? I tryed opening the RUU and get the rom.zip from temp folder and put it on the card but it says its corrupted, redownloaded it again and same thing.
Im doing something wrong? Or whats the best thing I can do ?

I was trying to S-OFF.
The idea was to put device on s-off, install everything I need, and install:
*PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.51_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_458803_signed
*M7_UL_Firmware_7.19.401.2
Like I did for my old htc one. (this post)
Now Im stuck on HTC One white screen. (every time I do a normal boot I get that screen, cant load phone back after installing super su via TWRP (was trying to s-off it)), only to bootloader menu access.
(Apart from this I tried to Soff it using firewater... i get till adb push firewater... then adb shell.. till there excellent... then.. su enter and it says su not found.. so i jump that step and continue with chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/fire till there ok.. then the next command /data/local/tmp/fire and it says sintax error... while its perfectly fine.. expecting ")"... so well. I cant soff it.. tried all day... neigher doing what it says on the post... only trying to leave the phone on the last firmware update.)
Thanks in advance

You don't need soff to flash a ruu on this phone. If you absolutely want s-off your must use Sunshine S-off (25$ USD) , firewater is discontinued, will not work even if you have the file, it need online resources that are not available anymore to do its magic. And even if it was still working, you can't just skip some steps like that... Firewater was designed to work when booted in a rooted rom and all steps was required. Relock the bootloader and flash a 7.19.401.x ruu using htc_fastboot.exe.
