I recently purchased an LG G2 and I wanted to put Safestrap on it. But I can't find anything that says whether or not it will work on it. So does Safestrap work on the G2? If not is there something similar that also has multiple ROM slots?
Isn't safestrap a Samsung thing? Anyways we don't have it. We don't have a recovery able to support multiple ROM slots

Hey everyone,
I know that a lot of methods for rooting and installing a bootloader are specific to a certain stock rom for phones. As such, this worried me, since I recently updated my Verizon LG G2 to 4.4.2. I want to root and install cyanogenmod, but I am worried that using existing methods will brick my phone. Are these fears warranted? Is there a recommended way to do this?
Thanks for any input

Rooting the OTA is easy, installing a recovery requires downgrading some stuff. The easiest thing to do is root again via ioroot25 then use AutoRec to install TWRP, it does all the things needed so a recovery can be flashed automatically.

As long as you take your time, read carefully and don't rush you'll be fine. Here's the thread to root and recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713954
CM for VS980 (verizon) isn't based on 4.4 source yet, it's based on 4.2 so you can't flash it anyway unless you want to downgrade. It runs like crap and you'll find no support in the thread from the developers. I would go with Mahdi if you want CM like AOSP with a grip of customization and loads of support. That's what I'm on and it's pretty badass. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590700 There's the thread for Mahdi.
LG G2 ftw
Is there a reason why I'm unable to get TWRP onto my Galaxy S5 Active? I've tried via Odin, Goomanager and Flashify. They all fail and/or even worse... bricks my phone. Something isn't right. I downloaded the tar for twrp labeled Galaxy S5.

You cannot use ANY custom recovery other than Safestrap. Your bootloader is locked down tight therefore NO TWRP or CWM and that goes for AOSP Roms and custom kernels as well.
I would suggest for you to do quite a bit of reading before you turn your device into an expensive paperweight. I'm not being rude but with some simple searching and reading you would've seen it isn't possible.
After rooting I used this thread :

I know says nd3 but I have ng3 and didn't catch that but it installed 100% fine. Safest rap is built off old version of twrp. So u should be use to the setup. Don't use rom slots they don't work for us. There is only 2 roms u can use on the active and that is dynamic kat and unity rom. If the title or description shows active or s5a or g870a support then ur good to use it.
Both roms run about the same. I use unity because it is made by 3 of the main att rom makers so I figured it might get updated more. I'm just waiting for lollipop. Feel free to pm me if need anything.
Night Everyone,
I just ordered a D950 LG G Flex AT&T, and i havent received it yet, however, i wanted to ask some stuff.
Im not a newbie on the android section, but each hpone acts different, as example, i had a E980 [LG G PRO AT&T] before this one, and wha ti know, is that, removing any carrier system app, using any root explorer, managed to get stuck at the boot screen on the device, saying, Security Error, and then had to reflash it again using the KDZ or the TOT method.
I wanted to ask, if its the same thing with the D950, if i remove the system apps from AT&T, will my device stuck at the Boot Screen with any kind of Security Error message?, since there is not much action on the development of this phone, i wanted to know before start messing with it.
I saw the ROOT method and everything, as soon as i get it i will root it and set TWRP or CWM, however, even on the E980, when the security error appeared, it was almost a 100% rate to flash it with a KDZ to get it working again, and i was curious if this was the same thing with the D950.
Also, i saw the Hyelton guide, its the same one to flash the KDZ, but since the E980 Bootloader was locked if i remember right, and it was needed to be lokified in order to isntall a custom recovery, is the bootloader of the D950 locked? will i face the same issues while trying to remove the system apps, i used to mod my R800X and my E980 ALOT, LIKE 5 flashes at day, both of them, and now i just wanna keep my phone without bloatware, and remove the system apps from AT&T.
So, im open to any idea/suggestion/advices or whatsoever.
p.d. Sorry for my mistakes if any~
Weekly bump!
[AUTORECOVERY] Flashing TWRP > |in 30 seconds|< on your LG G2; VS980 [ALL VARIENTS!]
I just upgraded my cellular device of choice from a LG VOLT (Which WAS the greatest phone i have ever had) until my purchase of a Factory Unlocked LG G2 and Root via the IORoot method worked like a CHARM!
If you need to Root your G2; The IORoot method I used can be found here:
[ROOT] Root your G2 [ATT|VZW|TMO|KT|RGS|BELL|TELUS|OPEN] [Yay!]
AFTER THAT:
I had one hell of a time trying to find a method to install a custom recovery with positive results! Team Win Recovery Project has always been a personal favorite of mine, and i could not get it to work correctly with the normal way of using Flashify; and the next route i tried failed when the specific versions download link of the G2 FREEDOM TOOL my phone requires was dead - (Version 24a). The "Loki" method also wouldnt work for me either. So just when I was about to give up; Low and behold; I found a method that appeared EVEN EASIER then all the above. It is a simple .apk that automatically installs Loki, and flashes TWRP Recovery (v2.7) in about 30 Seconds!
PLEASE NOTE: I just want to share the EASIEST process i have found to install a custom recovery in hopes it could help someone else who encountered the same problems I did.
I of course take NO CREDIT for this method; and I am not responsible for any damage or any voiding of any warranty that doing this to your device could cause! I REPEAT: THIS IS NOT MY WORK! IM JUST PROVIDING A LEAD!
Here you can find the G2 Freedom Tool - TWRP:
[Tool] G2 Freedom Tool vs980 39a TWRP
Here you can find the TWRP via Loki Method:
[GUIDE] INSTALLING TWRP on LGG2 (VZW, AT&T, TMobile, KT, d802, others) [UPDATED]
BUT!!! When if those methods fail you; or you just want to try something as EASY as downloading and Installing an .apk; using a "One Click; No Brick" process called: "AutoRecovery" then GIVE THIS A SHOT!!!
How it works:
NOTE: AutoRec – KitKat Recovery Installer downgrades your phone’s KitKat bootloader to the older replaceable bootloader that allows installing a custom recovery. Replacing any of the partition on your LG G2 might prove risky. Install the app at your own risk!
AutoRec app can install TWRP Recovery version 2.7 on the following models of the LG G2:
Choose the correct .apk file download for your phones new TWRP recovery by selecting which carrier LG G2 you have.
Choose your correct Carriers download link below:
Verizon LG G2: VS980_AutoRec.apk
AT&T LG G2: D800_AutoRec.apk
T-Mobile LG G2: D801_AutoRec.apk
International LG G2: D802_AutoRec.apk
LG G2 D802T: D802T_AutoRec.apk
Sprint LG G2: LS980_AutoRec.apk (some users reported white lines issue after using AutoRec)
Canadian LG G2: D803_AutoRec.apk
Latin American G2 D805: D805_AutoRec.apk
Korean Models:
F320K_AutoRec.apk
F320L_AutoRec.apk
F320S_AutoRec.apk
Just grab the appropriate AutoRec – KitKat Recovery Installer and flash the TWRP recovery right now.
Fixing White Line Issue After Flashing TWRP
If you have used AutoRec on your Sprint LG G2 and facing white lines issue or if you have Korean model F320 and have lost Knock On, here’s a solution for you. Download the patched Kernel file for your LG G2 model from here, copy the KK_Kernel_XXX_jdi.zip to your phone and flash the file in TWRP recovery. If you do not know how to flash files in TWRP, follow Steps 4-7 from this guide.

Im not sure if he is the Dev Source or not; IF CREDIT IS DUE ELSEWHERE; PLEASE Let me know! I'm not the kind of guy to try to steal credit for someone else's work, i know how hard it is! I am just here to share a very NICE source of a method that I found which actually HELPED me out a lot; and if It helps even ONE other person like it did for me; then I am happy enough!

That's what actually happened to me at one point. Many forum members including myself bought the phone when it first came out, rooted it, installed a recovery, and just kept it as is for a long time. Then there comes a time when one will want to upgrade and if things screw up for one reason or another they have to start fresh.
I was in your spot trying to navigate these forums to find a way to install a recovery. Every possible solution either didn't work out well or the links were dead. Eventually I landed upon the Autorec thread here and it was my final solution as well.
Thank you.
So my wife still uses her LG G2 and has no intention on upgrading. So for vs980 there appears to be a 3AA update recently. I installed twrp as a backup tool incase something happened to her phone. So there is an OTA that now fails due to custom recovery. Anyway, is anybody here still even using this phone? If so, what is the 3AA update? Also if there is a developer out there still, is it a possibility to get this 3AA as a flashable zip (Preferably debloated )?
Thanks!
