Simple tutorial in how to install G900MZTO1ANE4 on G900A
Hi everybody!
As many of you get a nice G900A from AT&T but lack the languages even if they are enabled.
Languages came inside eack application, so you should replace all with the international versions.
I tried this at first, and phone keeped on crashing.
So first of all get the Stock Firmware from here!
This is very usefull so you can allways reflash the phone again and again... I needed to do it several times until i managed to fix this:
What you will need:
1- EFS Professional from here
2- My EFS Pro G900M backup from here
3- Start your phone
4- Enable unknown sources in config|security
5- Enable USB Debuging in Development Mode (tap some times in config|about device|build number)
6- Root it with TowelRoot
7- Reboot anyway
8- Install BusyBox
(you may download and save towelroot and busybox to the sd card so you can skip all nonsense on starting)
9- Run busybox and allow it to install all stuff.
10- On your PC, extract the EFS Professional to some place.
11- Run EFS pro
12- Accept RSA on computer and shell on ADB
13- On EFS Pro select the Backup tab
14- On Device Filters select ***All Partitions***
15- Deselect All
16- Select efs (/dev/block/mmcblk0p12)
17 Backup this
Now EFS Pro will have created a folder named EFSProBackup
18- Copy the SAMSUNG-SM-G900A_G900MZTO1ANE4.tar.gz to this folder
19- Go to the Restore Tab and Refresh Backup Archives
You may now see both files, the SAMSUNG-SM-G900A_some_numbers_here.tar.gz and SAMSUNG-SM-G900A_G900MZTO1ANE4.tar.gz
If the names are different and you only see the backup file you just did, just rename the G900M file to start similarly to the one you saved.
20- Select the file SAMSUNG-SM-G900A_G900MZTO1ANE4.tar.gz(pc)
EFS Pro will copy file to the device
21- Select the boot.img and the system.img.ext4 and Restore.
22- You may enter in recovery and clean all to factory default and start your device now with full G900M system.
Hope this helps for now until we unlock the flash.
Best regards to all
Error
Thanks for the help, but unfortunately I get two errors:
On backup:
aaa.png and bbb.png
On restore:
ccc.png
Please, help me.
Thank you.

Hi,
I try to extract Languages from G900F for every USA S5 deviecs (Like Arabic and hebrew etc.)
But i don't what to do, your Instructions & G900M will bring me those (Heb & Arab lang) or all the Languages to every USA S5 Devices?
SM-G900A /G900T /G900W8/ G900M /G900T1 what if I try your files on Non-US devices ?
What this guide does? (/dev/block/mmcblk0p12) ?
What are the risks ?
It won't Brick the Device?
What about KNOX it will trip?
It will Prevent get OTA updates?
Can I use this guide on S4 / Note 3 ? (of course i will get other EFS files from Note 3 / S4)

Is there any way you can get me the SM-G900F version? I would be so thankful! I am even willing to donate you!
Another option is to download a different keyboard from the play store, they usually don't require root and never require a computer. Many support a long list of languages and have a lot of emoji's. Just read the list of supported languages before download. After that, go to settings > language and input > keyboard, deselect the stock keyboard and select your new keyboard, then hit the gear next to it to select it's particular settings. After that, go to the settings on Google and select your language (this also enables the "translate" button when viewing peges in other languages if you enable Google translate). I believe that the play store MAY have a similar setting. After that you should be good to go on a stock ROM. I hope that helps you. ?

Steps To Modify SGS3 Photowall Live Wallpaper
Hi All,
I had tried multiple roms and when used the Photowall Live Wallpaper, I could not point it to the photo gallery to use my own pics. The gallery would never open and I had to do with the default pics which came with the SGS3. (Not sure if anyone has faced this issue).
After playing around with the apk files I did find a way to use my own pics in the PhotoWall Live Wallpaper. I hope you would like this.
A: Uploading your pictures in the Photowall.apk file.
1. Select a maximum of 8 pictures that you wish to use in the Photowall and move them to a folder on your desktop.
2. Rename the 8 pictures as follows: g1p1.jpg / g1p2.jpg / g1p3.jpg / g1p4.jpg / g1p5.jpg / g1p6.jpg / g2p1.jpg / g2p2.jpg
3. Extract the Photowall.apk from ICS ROM onto a folder on your desktop. (I used RemICS v1.3, haven’t tried this is on any other ROM).
4. Open the apk file using winrar. (Do not extract, just open)…. Navigate to the PhotoWall.apk\res\raw folder.
5. You should be able to see the files as shown in the screenshot 1.jpg
6. Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have stored the pictures (remember to rename them as mentioned in step 2).
7. Select the files and click “OK”. This will replace the original files in the Photowall.apk.
8. Once this is done, exit/close the apk file opened in winrar.
You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone.
B: Uploading your customized Photowall.apk file in your ROM. (Tested on RemICS v1.3).
1.Open the Rom that you wish to flash (I used RemICS UX v1.3) using winrar (do not extract)
2.Navigate to \data\app folder.
3.Click on “Add” and navigate to the folder where you have saved your customized Photowall.apk. (Make sure that the name is “Photowall.apk”).
4.This will replace the original Photowall.apk with your customized file.
5.Exit and save the zip file.
6.Use the new edited Rom and copy it to the root of your “Internal SD” card.
7.Reboot the phone to “Recovery” and flash the new Rom. (I did not lose my data & settings as I did not wipe cache partition or Data/Factory, however this may or may not work for you. To be on a safer side please backup your data and applications. I will not be responsible for any data loss or bricked devices while trying this procedure. Try at your own risk.).
You can watch the video on the link below (sorry for the poor quality)

Special thanks toTeam RemICS for the beautiful Rom.

I think you over complicated the install process by a bit...
Why not just use a file explorer with root permissions and place the new Photowall.apk back to /system/app where it actually belongs, reboot the phone and be done with it? (/system/app is where live wallpapers that come with the phone are located by default, not /data/app)
As you can see here on my GS3, two of the several live wallpapers (phase beam and photo wall) are in /system/app
And these are the proper permissions for the apk
I tried that, but that wont work..... that the reason i mentioned
" You can try installing this file directly by copying it to your phone, however that didn’t work on my phone. "
Unfortunately wht u menitioned didnt work for me...
correct me if I am wrong... did u mention SG3... for SG3, you dont need to modify the photowall.apk, if you go to the wallpaper settings you can select pics from your gallery..

Yes, I understand that on the SG3 you don't need to do this, but on a Captivate, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to place it in /system/app and still have it work.
That's true! Perfectly working on my stock rooted ICS for 24h+!
This mod is for test porpoises only. Although I'm using it with success right now, I can not guarantee you that it will work, so:
I'm just reproducing the method I used to make it works on my own device. I have no intentions of being a developer, I don't wanna any donations and I'm not encouraging you to try this, and I'm warning you this can potentially brick your device. So, if even knowing this you assume these risks, be warned that I'm not responsible for any problem you could have trying to do this. In short: do it by yourself!
It works on my stock ICS with rooted system.img, and I did as following:
- Backup your internal SDcard, because if anything goes wrong, you will have to use smartflash/nvflash to recover your phone, and your internal sdcard can be formated if you need to reinstall your system.
- Download ES File explorer from market (of course this is for not so advanced user, since they don't need this instructions)
- Enable all root options on it (menu, settings, root settings, check all the three first options)
- Click on the zip you downloaded from here
- Unpack the system folder from the zip attached to your sdcard
(on ES File explorer, click on "select" button, than on "system" folder, than on "extract" button)
- Go to /data
- Create a new dir called ICS
- Move the extracted "system" folder to /data/ICS/
- Enter /data/ICS/system
- There should be 4 folders: addon.d, app, lib and vendor
- Enter addon.p, long-click on 71-gapps-faceunlock.sh, click properties
- Change its properties to owner:read, write and execute; group: read, execute; others: read, execute
- Go back to /data/ICS/system, enter app folder
- long click on FaceLock.apk and change its permissions to owner:read, write; group: read; others: read
- Go back to /data/ICS/system, enter lib folder
- Change the permissions as you did for FaceLock.apk in all the 9 files, one by one, inside this folder
- Go back to /data/ICS/system
- Click on select, than select the four folders, than on CUT
- Go to /system (note: now it's /system, not /data/ICS/system anymore)
- Click on "Paste", confirm the changes on all the files/folders
- Reboot
Well, at this point, if you are a lucky guy and didn't get a 90% of a bootloop chance, you should be able to change your lockscreen to facelock.
I have no idea if this will work on tonyp/harsh's stock ICS flashable zip, because I don't have it to test. It should work since they are almost the same rom, however they have deleted a lot of LGs stuff to make the zip flashable on GB partition layout, so you can try it (the zip itself should be flashable on CWM), however:
- DO A NANDROID BACKUP firstly and
- YOU WILL NEED at least 39MB free on /system to do it! I have no idea if it's even possible to get this on GB partition layout

how do you unlock youre phone in the dark on lights off???
You just don't
It's really great that you write this to help others, but there is no need in such long instruction. Why just not to say easier:
1. Download lates ics gapps: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
2. Copy-past folders "optional/app" and "optional/vendor" into device system folder. (There is no need in addon.d on a stock rom)
3. Copy-past optional/noneon/lib/libfacelock_jni.so into system/lib folder. (There is no need to replace other libs)
4. Change permissions for system/app/FaceLock.apk and system/lib/libfacelock_jni.so to 644 (-rw-r--r--) (just look how it is set for other files in these folders).
5. Reboot.
I tried earlier to extract the face unlock files from gapps, but it didn't work for me... This way it works perfectly, thanks!
working thanks.........

Facelock always have a secondary method of PIN number. If facelock fails you can enter PIN number (numeric code) and it unlocks,
Has anyone tried this on CM10... I guess I will be the first then would be nice a .zip to flash

Hi,
I followed the instructions to convert L09 to Middle Eastern & North and South Africa version and it all worked well for me, but I'm wondering how do I convert to Chinese version? Can anyone help with some information?
Like do i just need to edit the build.prop and have the correct regions update.app file? or is something else necessary.
Thanks in advance
Gavin

So I managed to convert to Chinese version. This is how I did it.
While fresh in the memory, instructions on how to change the region+ firmware to UL00
What do you need (links in 004's original post earlier in the thread or here:
1. Firmware UL00-C433B114 (Middle East, North and South Africa)
2. The oeminfo.img program to change the locale (45.69 KB) Anti-Virus may or complain, so disable it)
3. Mounted on the phone ES Explorer (Solid or Root Explorer will not work !!!)
4. You need a copy of your existing ROM versions recovery.img. You can get this using the Huawei ROM extractor tool.
What to do:
1. Flash TWRP Recovery through Fastboot (Bootloader must be unlocked)
2..Get Root (install SuperSU.zip through TWRP), reboot.
3. Install and enable root in settings of ES Explorer and go to the folder /dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/
4. Copy oeminfo file and transfer it to your computer
5. On your computer, unpack the oeminfo.exe program from the RAR. Put your oeminfo file in the same folder.
6. Rename oeminfo in oeminfo.img
7. Run oeminfo.img.exe and type hw / meafnaf replacing dualcu / cn - click apply
8. Rename oeminfo.img back to oeminfo and copy to your mobile phone
9. Replace the original file in the phone to change (overwrite)
10. Go to the phone / system / and open the file build.prop
11. Find the line ro.build.displey.id = change your version to "=" CRR-UL00C433B000 and save changes
EDIT ?: These steps (10/11) MUST be completed or it will not allow you to update later with new regions ROM
12. Extract the new ROM file on your computer with the firmware.
13. Copy dload folder with the Update.app file and copy it to the phone's internal memory or MicroSD card
14. Flash back stock recovery from your existing ROM (use the extractor tool if needed). You can do this now or at the end before flashing but you must remove TWRP and ROOT before attempting to flash new rom.
15. On the phone go Settings - Update.
16. Select Menu - Local update
I then ensured Google Play was installed.
After doing this, flashed TWRP again and Rooted the phone, I then edited the oeminfo file using the above method, changing the attribute back to "dualcu/cn". After this I edited the build.prop to using the above method but this time I changed "ro.build.display.id=CRR-UL00C00B131".
I then removed root and flashed the original Huawei recovery, and then rebooted and went to update settings. I searched for update and a new file was found however a modified system was detected so it offered to download a full version which was the B160 build. This downloaded and then updated and now I have CRR-UL00C00B160 version
Whats the advantage of this Version?
There are more updates to the Chinese version..they are on build B160 whereas UK still on build B144.
Some other features like dual SIM should work however I haven't tested this.
Other things like build in virus scanner, permissions manager and also the ability to set the date of your mobile data plan to help keep track of data usage and allowance.
Pressure sensitive screen is also featured although not yet used in any apps but maybe it will be enabled soon by Huawei

Hello, could you please tell me why do you write (type) in step 11. CRR-UL00C433B000 instead of CRR-UL00C433B114? Thanks for your answer.

Thanks for your soon answer. To say the truth, i have just completed the process. Unfortunately, i wrote (in my case) CRR-L09C432B114 instead of CRR-L09C432B000; my device ist just running with this B114 Rom. I was running the B119 Rom before, what should i do now in order to receive the updates?

if you have changed your localization ( the "Cxxx" part) then you won´t receive any updates. You have to manualy update via Update.APP files.
Your IMEI is linked to you Build/Localization. This way, Huawei makes sure that every phone receives the right update file. If you change one of both, you won´t receive OTA updates anymore, since the update system can´t assign the "right" update file.
Anyone can confirm the dual sim function work after this procedure?? This I want a dual sim active dfsa
it does not, EU Mate S does not have dual-dim hardware

Hello,
I just rolled back from nougat to Marshmellow (B181).. But I noticed that some of the default apps of Huawei is missing and themes are not working.
I also tried wipe/ factory reset and install another custom rom (B152 which is oldest I can download) but it didn't work, either.
I have no idea about rooting etc. so whats the easiest solution for p9+ ?
1. Download hw_init.zip > https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24421527759882525
2. Unzip hw_init.zip
3. Copy folder hw_init to /data
4. Reboot
5. Apply themes
6. Enjoy
thank you for your answer. Before doing what you said, I was updating via emui from b152 to b180.
And it's corrected everything automaticly....
Thank you for your answer.

I too had this problem after rollback from VIE-L29 N (C605B354) to M (C636B202) . I was rooted and used root explorer to copy the files. The instructions I followed were similar to the above, but in addition, I had to set the permissions on the contents of /data/hw_init/system/themes to rw-r--r-- and place the theme I wanted to apply in that location. I am not able to successfully add any themes from the usual /HWThemes location, but If I copy the *.hwt file to /data/hw_init/system/themes it works.
-Paul
this is my solution ( made by me ) after trying many solutions over this forum @ other forums
just
1- delete any folder for themes u made (as hw_init or themes in root folder or at any site )
2- make folder & name it ( HWTHemes ) in internal memory
3- download this folder & put it inside (HWTHemes )
4- go to themes app and chose ** Aqua theme ** & apply it
5- no need to change any permissions
this was try on huawei y 7 2017
