New software update availabel? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

I disabled the att update and the security update, but I keep getting this little toast window that says software update available in settings. What else do I need to disable?

You could also boot into recovery, and wipe your cache partition to be safe. Then allow the update to go through. In which case it will fail.

I have already done that. When I go into setting and click on the check for software update and the security update, it does nothing. It's more just annoying seeing that notification pop up.

Step 7.

Maybe this will work
I used FX File Explorer to disable the app by changing the folder name.
Open FX File Explorer
Tap # System (Root) Tap OK
Open system folder
Open priv-app
Unlock at the top allow
Tap and Hold SPDClient.apk Select Rename
Rename to SPDClient.apk.bak Relock at top

I used ES file explorer. The file explorer does not matter. You can use any file explorer that has root access.

Try Titanium Backup. Your phone needs to be rooted for this to work.
Also, there are quite a few uninstaller apps on the App Market.

Had the same problem.
Your phone must be rooted and you can find that app in your /system/app directory and delete the .apk and the .odex file with the same filename.
Reboot
For me was this the solution.

I did on my Nexus 5. I got the same error as you, but then went in and cleared data/cache on the Cameranext app and everything worked fine. Might try that.

How to unroot?

I've just rooted my device using geohot's towelroot.apk and now I can't use my ISIS wallet app for my free Jamba Juice smoothies. I'm searching around and I can't find a method to unroot.
Kies3 isn't working either as it says "firmware initialisation is not supported by this model"
PLEASE HELP!
Edit: I've also tried to use SuperSU to unroot, but it won't let me update the binaries and just force closes
Edit 2:
*** PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ALL OTHER USERS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE
I found out that you cannot use the SuperSU downloaded from the play store as it will just force close. Download the apk from this link: http://download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip
SuperSU should be able to update itself successfully after you open the application. Afterwards, you can use the permanent unroot option from the settings and that's it! I'm going to go get my free smoothie now.
I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES AND NEED TO UNROOT ALSO.

You should be able to download xposed, then rootcloak, and hide root from ISIS. Works on my M8.

Yes, I already found this out with my wife's AT&T Note 3. Xposed plus Rootcloak is the answer to Isis not working with root.

It does. I just tried. Now I'm trying Kies 3 to restore. Google play services wont work on my phone anymore. I thought this root was to good to be true. Now we have problems. I'm not the only one.

Yes. You will install the superuser apk that is floating around if you haven't already and then update the binaries after you open the app.
Then go to settings in the superuser app and do the permanent unroot. I also uninstalled the towel root app too just in case. Then reboot and you should be unrooted.
