Phone was working OK, tried to install an app - "Insufficient Storage" message appeared, even though there is plenty of storage. Restarted to see if it would fix.
Upon restart, it booted directly to the bootloader (as if the down button was depressed), in bootloader, down button is not working, UP volume is working, but pressing UP, it goes DOWN. POWER is also not working.
Had to depress all three buttons to cut power, and can now only boot in SAFE MODE.
When booted in safe mode, volume UP works as designed, but volume DOWN is not responsive at all, POWER button is working in safe mode fine.....
When plugging it into PC in bootloader, cant get to fastboot (as I cannot use the power button), cant access fastboot using ADB, non responsive to PC.
Bootloader IS unlocked, but is S-ON, no root.

Whenever I turn off my phone, or reboot it, it boots into a frozen bootloader. I can't move around or power off the device. If I plug in the USB cable and use fastboot, I can boot the phone (e.g. fastboot reboot), and then it will go into the ROM i have loaded (CM 6), but the ROM has "safe mode" at the bottom left.
What in the world is going on here?
It might be one of your hard buttons getting stuck (VolumeUp or VolumeDown - the one that's calling the bootloader when combined with power button). You could adb logcat the boot, and search for the failures in the CM boot log, that might also pinpoint the guesswork.
Well, it loads into the bootloader even if I tell it to reboot via the ROM. So I am not holding down any keys.
Also, in the boot menu that it boots into, my recovery menu option is missing.
I do seem to be able to reboot directly into recovery (I am running v1.5.3)
doing a logcat when the device is in the bootloader gets me nothing as it just sits there waiting for the device.
running logcat while the thing is booting into CM shows:
/WindowManager( 127): SAFE MODE ENABLED (menu=0 s=0 dpad=0 trackball=1)
does this mean my trackball is stuck?
And while i can get into RA via the reboot to recovery option in CM, I can't actually do anything (pressing the trackball does nothing).
Yep, your trackball is stuck.
Hello. I have a razr I and decided to unlock the bootloader. I tried the button combination power + volume down several times, but the phone just powers up normally (actually rhe screen flashes for a second, but doesn't go into fastboot mode. I trided using adb reboot fastboot but the device just reboots. What can I do about it?
NVM, just did it by fastboot reboot bootloader...
Ok, one more thing. It seems my device ignores the key combo, but I was still able to get into fastboot mode by using adb. However, I have tried to flash a custom recovery with no success.
I tred using the supplied installer and after rebooting I get to the open robot screen with the red exclamation mark. Then, after holding some keys (not sure if power or power + volume down I get into recovery, but it's still the stock android recovery. Then I tried flashing the recovery image from fastboot mode. It sait the recovery was flashed, but still cannot boot into recovery. What's wrong with my phone?

Just incase you need to do it in the future:
Hold volume down, then hold the power button. When it begins to vibrate release the power button and keep the volume down button pressed until you get into fastboot.

Alright. So how about the never appearing CWM recovery?
So the kids changed the password on the tablet so I cannot unlock it. The tab is not rooted. If I try to boot holding power and volume up nothing happens. It just boots normally.
I tried putting the latest firmware on the SD and booting but nothing happens. Just boots normally.
Do I have any options here?
Thanks a bunch.
Hey there! Try to boot pressing volume down and power or middle volume and power. It should get you in recovery and you should be able to reset from there. You should see an android with an exclamation mark, then press volume down to get in recovery.
Sent from my K013 using XDA Free mobile app
Seems any key combination I try does not work. Power+Volume up, Power+ Volume down, Power+middle/both
It just always boots normally.
And if I try to user adb to reboot into recovery it tells me to check my device to give it authorization which I cannot do since I can't unlock it.
I have the following problem: Out of a sudden my volume and power button stopped working. I could still wake it up with the camera button for 2 tries but after trying a couple of things (long press, combinations etc.) the phone went off at some point. Now I'm not able to turn it back on again.
When I plug in the charger, the phone shows the charging screen. I can press Power+VolUp and get vibrations and a restart (to charging screen) but nothing else.
When I plug it into the computer it boots into fastboot. I'm able to submit commands via fastboot but no response via adb. (I found a tip issuing 'adb shell input keyevent 26' but adb does not find the device) using the various reboot options (continue, reboot, reboot-bootloader) only gets me into fastboot again or charging screen.
How can I get my phone back to work preferably without loosing any data? I still have some important stuff on the internal memory and would like to back it up. So reboot into recovery and backup via adb would also be ok, but I can't get into the recovery.
Infos:
- Phone is rooted via http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343 running '23.4.A.1.232 - Unbranded - CE1 [Central Europe] (1288-7915)' after an update. (older version with root installed via instructions, update self-rooted (via PRFC) and installed 1 month later)
- VolUp+Power in charger only gets back to charging. No change
- VolUp and/or VolDown then plug to PC only gets to fastboot
- Reset switch does nothing at all
Edit: For some reason I could boot it now without doing anything. Saving data like hell... But Power button and VolUp still not doing anything. Camera button and VolDown works... What to do?
Edit2: I tried 'adb reboot recovery' to reflash the pre-rooted ROM but it only went into fastboot mode and I'm where I started... Can't turn it on...
Hey, I've tried (and failed) to flash TWRP on my Realme 8, and I ran into a big problem:
The device boots up into the stock ROM, but the touchscreen is unresponsive and I can't figure out a way to power off the phone. I've tried to push the power button for up to a minute, i've tried going into recovery (vol+ and power button), tried adb (the PC is unauthorized, so it didn't work). Got a USB-C adapter to plug my mouse into the phone, but it wasn't recognized.
What can i do to power it off? I believe i could reflash the stock firmware after powering it off.
Thanks for any help!
Try to force a reboot by holding power and volume down.
Right, at least 2 buttons needs to be pressed for SoC reset, try them all, you'll find the right one.
