[ROM][P3113] Full Stock/Debloated stock(P3113 Only!) - Galaxy Tab 2 7" Android Development

Built from P3113UEUMK3 4.2.2 base
I originally created these for my self but with some encouragement from a couple friends I thought I would go ahead and share them. This is for the P3113 ONLY!!! Because that is the device I have for test purposes.

Sart with battery at 100%
Check all MD5`s
Enter recovery
Make a backup always no excuses!!
Wipe cache, dalvik, data, system. Full wipe all wipes are a must!!
Flash Rom (You will only see minimal progress because the updater script is not built with fancy UI print and progress bar activity) it`s finished when you script result [/system]
Reboot system
First boot takes a considerable time wait for it!!
After booted let stand at least 10 mins before setting up
Opt out of restoring anything from Google during setup (I do this as a general rule of thumb for stability)
Enjoy!

@Chainfire for SuperSU
These guys all straight up rock!!
If you wish to use this base just a request and give credit where credit is due is all I ask.

To make the best use out of ViPER4Android you can find IRS starter pack here and HighDefinition impulse responses samples here extract packages to sdcard/ViPER4Android/Kernel. If the folder kernel does not exist then use Root Explorer or similar to create and paste files there. Enable expert UI, enable convolver then select the impulse response sample you wish to use. On an occasion I have noticed a reboot might be required to put it into effect but not often.
Note: You may notice increased battery drain but why miss out on some fantastic audio performance
Thanks to @BSDgeek_Jake for his HD IRS.

I tested a couple of mods by @Tsjoklat 4 way reboot menu and lock screen ripple effect for the P3110UEUCMK3 and they work great. So if you wish to try those and others head on over to his thread found here and try them out! Remember to hit his thanks button because those are his own personal work!!! Thank you @Tsjoklat !!

I have been using blackhawk 2.2 works pretty well don't forget to flash vendor blobs just after kernel. Don't overclock over 1420 that seems to be the max. I would have added it but so far we are forbidden.

How much Internal storage is freed up by the Debloated version?
Are the stupid Mini-Apps removed as part of Debloat?
Have you considered posting an Odexed Debloated version?
I'm going to load this over the weekend.
So excited.

I wanna say 150 mgs extra don`t remember. I did not remove mini apps because I wanted to leave it native as possible and still debloat http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319196882 this should remove those although I have not tested it remember to thank @Tsjoklat at his thread found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405410 if it works for you use at your own risk of course. Anything for P3110UEUCMK3 should work but I have only tested 4way reboot menu and lockscreen ripple effect as described in post #3 of this thread. Since there`s not a huge calling for an odexed version and I`m away from the machine I build with for considerable time, probably won`t run another build for awhile if at all.

Hi Thepooch,
thanks for this - I got full stock deodexed version. I was using latest SlimKat 4.4.4 ROM, but recently got some 'wake up' issue with that.
I always keep copy of Samsung stock ROM somewhere if i ever end up needing.
Of course, to be sure this stock ROM is good (before I put it in safe place), I did full nandroid of my current ROM (SlimKat), and then I flashed "Stock_deodexed P3113UEUCMK3_062914.zip", configured, updated all apps, etc...and then took full nandroid of stock ROM, and save it to my box cloud space! - so in case I ever end up coming back to stock for some reason.
During my test run, it seems all good, i believe having deodexed system gives more free space to system partition, seems like helps to run much more smoothly (compare to untouched samsung stock ROM).
Anyway, just wanted to say THANK you for this, very much appreciated.:good:

Is there a way to overclock this?

But I don't like my favorite community to be sad so...
I present you devoid. #froyo-final.
features:
* Crazy unbranding and deapking
* Patched hosts
* GPS settings tweaked
* Browser settings tweaked
* Build.prop tweaked
* Patched SQLite
* Ramdisk tweaked
* ZRAM support (active by default)
* Added ringtones and notifications
* Replaced boot "animation"
* Boot tweaked to be faster
* Replaced homescreen wallpaper
* Removed more useless trash
* Auto-zipalign @ boot ([email protected])
* Strict minfree handler tweak ([email protected])
* Smartass is now the default governor
* Noein's secret performance tweaks recipe
* I always forget other things, blame Moskovskaya!
And of course, kernel is FrancoKernel v15.1.
Don't flash any other kernel, only Franco's updates (v15.2, etc).
important:
* I don't attend to requests to add applications. Devoid's philosophy is to strip everything to a minimum and make sure you use the goddamn market.
* You are a community, help each other out. If someone needs a stock application which is not on the market, give him a hand.
* I won't add a powermenu or overscroll, it's easy but I'm lazy sorry.
* Want FM Radio, Calculator, Browser or Calendar? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14598612&postcount=1554 (thanks)
instructions:
* The usual; the zip is signed and uses edify so you can flash both on cwm and amon_ra recoveries.

I'll quote myself:
However, the base is no less important. Void's core is stripped of most applications, widgets and along with its pure black theme, I couldn't think of a name for the ROM other than precisely just: void. I've also picked 2.2 for this. It's faster and as stable as 2.2.1 (since it didn't fix the SDcard unmounts).

void. -base (mandatory)
root + superuser + busybox
APKs: deodexed, zipaglined, png-optimized
Build.prop tweaked: JIT, HW:A, VM.HS
Stock kernel clocked at 600Mhz / ondemand governor
Kernel repacked in order to accept onboot tweaks
Extended APNs (won't cover the whole globe but won't be far)
Patched hosts file (will block ads as it slows down the system; however, if you like an application, always remember to support the author by donating or buying the full version)
Applications removed: almost every single one (too many to be named, but keep reading, I'll cover this soon)
Applications added: launcherPro, root explorer, doubletwist (replaces music/video player) and missed message flasher (incl/ my settings)

First of all I want to congratulate you for your hard work. I can call this a piece of art.
Can we tweak a little bit the status bar, and notifications ? It would be much easier to read if it was like the HTC, or Gingerbread for example.
L.E: I tried something here, don't know if it works because I haven't flashed this ROM yet.
I have modified the framework from void.theme-module.
Could you please give it a test Noejn ? (I suppose you have a emulator)
DO NOT APPLY UNTILL TESTED !!!
Noejn I HATE you!!!! WHY YOU DIDN'T COME WITH THIS GREAT STUFF ONE DAY BEFORE?
Yesterday at night I just installed Prime from Megatron because I wanted to try your second ROM even that it haven't exactly what I want same as Megatron haven't. Now, you came with this!! Why you done that to me?
Anyway, really thanks for your work!! I will definitely test it!! But I haven't time now....
Thank you!!
Wow, this looks really awesome, if only i didnt flash and configured my device again yesterday..., this is for sure the next rom i am going to try next.
Nice job and thanks Noejn!

YES!! Same like me.
Is it normal to only have 156MB free space with base only? I wiped everything before installing. Or should i have mounted everything in the recovery menu and after that wipe?
LE: it's fixed now. after reboot i now have 192mb with gapps + a2sd + kernel oc.
Interesting! I was hesitant to try Prime because I didn't want to lose all the apps you stripped from it, but here you provide a way of getting them back When I have a bit more time on my hands I'll try this ROM out, thanks!
EDIT: by the way, would the sapps zip also work in prime (after removing the unwanted apps)?
@Noejn
Is there any way I can tweak this ROM to use ad-hoc wireless AP's when connecting to the internet?
By the way, Noejn...
If you open one of the zips (e.g. the sapps one), and remove the unwanted apks from it, will it still work? or do we have to do anything else to it? (e.g. 'zip align' or ?)
Wow... You're the best Noejn! I'll try this rom now

[ROM] [JB 4.1.2][XXLT5] BurtROM -- minimalist JellyBean TouchWiz

UPDATED 5/28/2013 -- Updated to LT5.
BurtROMxxLT5 is a minimalist, bare-bones ROM based on XXLT5 with various fixes.
This ROM is NOT for casual, inexperienced users. This is a clean, stock-like ENGLISH ONLY offering meant for those who prefer to install their own apps. If you are new to Android or have just started flashing, you will probably not like this ROM. You have been warned
I've removed what I consider bloatware and most of the Samsung apps. The default language is English. THERE ARE NO CSCs INCLUDED. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE SALES CODE.
Here is most of what is provided...
PhilZ kernel v5.03.0
4-way reboot
Root with SuperSU
Phone
Multiview (with fix)
Google Play
S Note
S Calendar/Planner
MusicPlayer
VideoPlayer
VoiceRecorder
Gallery
Camera
Google Now
Google Talk
Internet
Messaging
Calculator
Clock
Various widgets associated with the above.
... and that's pretty much it. You will not find Social apps, S Voice, Maps, wallpapers, other keyboards, AROMA installer, etc.
If you have any fixes, or suggestions for other apps to remove, let me know
WARNING: FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST.
Do yourself a favor and make a clean install -- factory wipe and format /preload before flashing.

Also. It can take 5 minutes or so to get past the bootlogo

use MA6 kernel, set CPU governor to smartassv2 with 600MHz as max cpu and 245MHz as Min CPU frequencies..
Enable Kernel samepage merging in Memory management..
Enable GPU rendering in Developer options..
Memory management is fine in kitkat, Os is not taking much of memory..Better go for greenify app, greenify google services and apps to get battery..
I never tried sd extension dude, so i am sorry i can't help you in that matter.. Hope someone will clear your doubt regarding this..
And help others with your feedback..
review
note: i'm not a rom-junky, this is my first cm after i've been playing with 9.2 and 10.1 while ago and to be honest - i prefer miui over cm because of its unique features and ultimate themeing
first impressions:
- stable and (surprisingly) ram friendly (one of the main reasons i wanted to test it, including greenifying which i miss very much in my favorite miui)
- everything ok with YourZgappsXS for 4.4
- everything working except for fm radio (tried spirit) << i guess it's a common cm11 bug?!
- i like the new camera very much, but like @naresh babu said: "it's not very colorful" (closer to b&w)
- installed crossbreeder (p_goodbye edition) just because i used to use it with other CMs and it there's nothing about performance scripts in MA6 kernel thread >> don't see any difference and i don't believe in virtual testing
- MA6 kernel @245-729 smartassh3 with sioplus (tought it would give me max performance) with ksm and zram (@69mb) <> would like to hear learn about other's experience with different settings (original and/or other kernel)
- at the moment running (cronmod) INT2EXT4+ without problems, but since my sd is lousy i believe it's producing additional lag; will try with my favorite: s2e
weird stuff and help needed:
1) tried to remove some bloaty and system apps that i don't use (whisperpush, android keyboard, terminal emulator, simtoolkit) with TiB and clean master; everything seemed to work ok, but they reappear instantly - even without reboot?!!?
2) attempted to change superuser with su (with an old flashable zip that worked with other CMs) without success <> superuser sucks, it's very slow compared to su and not updated
3) getting frequent "android.process.media has stopped" when boot and accessing sd, but it's probably because i f*****up something, or maybe int2ext4?!
will attempt to solve these issues messing around with the rom before installation, but it would be better to have the possibility to fix them afterwards
also, i will test more with xposed (mainly regular modules + greenify and xtheme)....
btw any cartoonish (BUUF like) theme? (complete, with icons, menus, statusbar, etc)

Smooth Scrolling Mod for Nexus 4 - give your Nexus a new lease of life!

I found this over at the OnePlus One section, and it originated from Nexus 5 section. Would be good to see such a mod for Nexus 4 (especially for stock AOSP 4.4.4) to give it a new lease of life until ART becomes official in Android L as some of us need to stay on Dalvik for Xposed to work. I don't personally use the N4 any more but still believe it to be a fantastic phone.
What this mod does:
AndroidON said:
- Some android applications have some lag when they scroll.
I found in logcat that garbage collector is working to much when I do some scroll in application.
I googled about it and found the 'scrollingcache' function inside android making problem.
Some application developers recommend disable 'scrollingcache' in app's internal config.
But not all applications have disabled scrollingcache.
So the mod I'll do will disable the scrollingcache throughout the Android OS.
All apps will have no problem with scrollingcache.
I've had scrolling improvements with facebook,playerpro,poweramp,gallery apps , etc.

It consists in decompiling/smali edits/re-compiling the framework.jar file (/system/framework).
Maybe Dalvik runtime users will see a benefit, more than the ART runtime users..., I noticed an improvement in scrolling in G+, Play Store and Root Explorer for example when there is a long list of files to scroll for example.
User feedbacks seem to be positive too...

The Framework.jar modification is ROM specific, there are already Madhi/Purity mods for the N5 - some Madhi users have reported it works for their N4 too.
Note:
We could use a few more contributors/developers assigned to maintain this mod for single or several ROMs, it would save one person being inundated with requests for specific ROMs. This may also get slightly out of hand with requests for nightly ROMs, but we'll see.

Seems to be working fine with purity+ 30/07. After flashing scrolling seems a lot better. I'm using art and im on intellidemand. Without the mod the scrolling on xda app was awful, now it's better.intellidemand always give the better battery but the worst experience in scrolling. Thanks for this mod!
Edit: gallery app and Google plus are smooth as butter now! Even art users can benefit from this mod.
I'm a Brazilian without English Course, sorry and be comprehensive
persist.sys.scrollingcache=4
1=cache on always
2=cache on certain times
3=cache off certain times
4=cache off always
Can't we do that intead?

Just tried this stock zip and booted up Android, it wanted to optimize all my apps again which was a bit odd (didn't see this happen on my OPO), and I'm still seeing GC_CONCURRENT activity in catlog while using apps, so I don't think it worked. Hope that helps!
p.s. in TWRP the zip message stated it was for Vanir ROM?
Can you make it for Purity 8/08 pls?
What modifications were made to classes.dex? I noticed 3 of the edits detailed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...roll-stock-t2617050/post49582206#post49582206 were not in /android/widget/AbsListView.smali
I went to try it myself with baksmali and smali and replacing classes.dex in framework.jar but I'm not having any luck with that either
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28241302&postcount=5 - classes decompile/compile guide. Winrar also works for extracting classes.dex out of framework.jar

Slimkat b7
If someone wants to try it for Slimkat b7. I guess there is some difference, but might just be placebo.
First scroll in Play Store is still laggy, as its loading stuff, after that I think its a bit smoother.
I have tested this but still:

You can always confirm if garbage collection is on using catlog, it will spam GC_CONCURRENT or similar.

1- Reboot to TWRP
2- Wipe Cache - Dalvik
NOTE: I do not recommend a dirty flash over Z.A.D.Mix7 or Stock.B29 but I believe it's possible. I always reformat /data myself as I use an external sd and this is my habit since it's about as clean as you can get with minimal risk
3- Flash the version you prefer
4- REBOOT & BE PATIENT First boot will take a few mins since it's DEODEX.
* Additional Info :
If the first boot takes an extreme amount of time (greater than 7 mins on Bootanimation), JUST REBOOT AGAIN by Press & Hold of Power and let the booting complete a second time.
This is not rooted! I leave that to you as this is supposed to be as lean as I can get it.

I run this with f2fs on data and cache, so if you are having issues you *might* try changing the filesystems to f2fs in official TWRP 3.0.3 (I take NO responsibility and will not help you out if you did not use stable/official TWRP 3.0.3, don't be hasty and brick your device and don't try this if you are not willing to take the risk, personally I have not had issues on any rom including B29 stock but YMMV)
Finally once again THANKS to everyone in the community your support it's the icing on the cake!

Not OP but I have actually been doing this on every rom that I've done (whether it was stock or ZAD) via system app removers that require root. The decision is easy when you can replace Dolby with Viper4Android. I've actually had better sound quality using Viper than Dolby ever gave me. In fact, I went back to stock (pure stock, no root, etc) and the sound quality is poop.

I like my sound as unmangled as possible, Dolby is just an overhyped EQ IMHO. The framework is still in place for now. I've uploaded zip with the APKs from /system/vendor to androidfilehost. I can't guarantee they'll work without restoring to /system/vendor/app nor do I feel like testing so up to you guys to figure that out. If there is enough demand I'll consider building a flashable zip to restore but that would be after I remove the framework libraries.

I also use a do-it-all zip file that not only installs Viper but removes any possible conficts (MusicFX but since that is already removed), installs Busybox, and changes the SELinux mode.
