[GUIDE] Use latest whatsapp version with ART [NOV-13-2013]

INTRODUCTION
Hi everybody! After using the old method of installing whatsapp's old.42 and .50 version, cernekee found that flashing libart.so in system partition, we would be able to install whatsapp from playstore without depending on the version.
I just did a flasheable zip which:
- Installs neccessary lib
- Fixes permissions
The procedure is very simple...​
HOW-TO
1. Download libart.so_flashable.zip from the bottom of the post and push it to your sdcard
2. Swich (if u hadn't already done it) to ART runtime mode under developer options
3. Flash the fix from recovery
4. Install whatsapp from playstore
5. Voilá, latest whatsapp version working with ART​

Make sure to not update it while the problem is not fixed upstream. Disable auto-update for this one in the Play Store app.

This is a GUIDE. In this guide it's explained how to make whatsapp run with art, but I am not sharing any app. If every post on xda was in apps section everything would be disordered.
In relation with your question, isn't it better to have a GUIDE about an important think as using whatsapp with art since a lot of people aren't using this because of that? Isn't true that it is maybe easier for noobs to follow a guide on a thread rather than finding a post where anything is explained?
I think creating a GUIDE giving proper credits, just to help people doesn't hurt.

Confirmed it works but can't restore messages backup from helium after app downgrade

Managed to get it working after some hassle, thanks for this!
Only thing that is not working is adding an attachment from the gallery to send it to someone.
I hope the whatsapp team stops being so resistant against ART because it gives a huge advantage.

could you please tell us how you did it? because i may apply this on whatsapp+ too, since i use that... so please, if you can, make a guide on how to make it work on ART

If you're already in ART mode (and rooted) and don't want to switch back and forth between Dalvik and ART just to install Whatsapp, you can also copy the modded .apk to /data/app and reboot the phone Worked for me!

there's no whatsapp thread because whatsapp removed the links... but it's still working.

OnePlus One CM11S Camera on Play Store

Looks like Cyanogen Mod put the CM11S Camera on the Play Store, it should be newer than the OTAs.

What's New from XNPH38R?
Cam in 38 update have a bug - cam crash when you set 4k video resolution and raw save format. Than you can't capture any video. Now in PS version is everything perfect...

what do you need as a proof dude.. i am on cm11s, and i have an update ?

I'm on stock ROM, nothing edited, and it says that my device isn't supported. I'm on 33, I haven't got ota update, so maybe that's the deal...

Yeah I saw it now didnt see it before. Hmm :C I guess it is CM11S only. Upload a apk? From screenshots it appears newer than the OTA.

What does that have to do with the CM11S Camera?

Tbh, couldn't really find any differences in this version than the one shipped with the last OTA, the screenshot with the different mode's to shoot pictures is acutally already in the current app (circle icon on the right hand side of your screen and then the magic wand tool). It does however includes all the options including new stuff like clear picture and raw.

Anyone know how to modify this apk so that the theme chooser will theme the icon with the standard camera icon? Right now very few themes will theme this apk.

Its probably the same as XNPH38R as of right now but this will make the camera be updated more frequently without having to wait for the OTA to hit to get a camera update.

I'm always in for new updates but sadly thanks to the same standingpoint I'm currently running CM11 nightlies so no playstore for me

Works like a charm. Video recording, front camera evrything works like a charm. I love the menu and the UI. Miles ahead than the Cyanogenmod Camera.

Awesome pic quality in the gallery app, will try out the camera later,but it seems ok from the few pic's I have taken so far,but it's to dark outside to make a proper test..

I tried it and I realized all the third party camera apps are useless with flash on.

Is it just me or does it fail to install either installing as normal APK or pushing to system. I'm on cm11s and have had to revert to using an older version of lenovo super camera.

I installed as a normal app..it is working great no flash issues..all is well

What rom do you use?

I am on Temasek v154 and after every reboot have to go into system>app>lenovo and reinstall it for it to work and wont install as regular app.

After testing the camera on mahdi/AK,i'm fairly impressed with it.only the option to change resolution size is missing and that is really annoying.but everything else is working perfectly, haven't tried 4k recording yet,but the option is there..
Change your language to English and SOME of the options in dev settings are readable

Where did you find 4K. There is only 2K and does not work. Im also using Mahdi rom with Mahdi kernel.

Look below where it says "normal".as I said I haven't tried it yet.
EDIT: no only 2k recording is available.

Hey everyone!
I'm proud to present you guys a transparent google search bar for lollipop home launcher.
Originallly made for 4.4.x by user @pepitoff on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55659793&postcount=442 user @juanpirulo has made a working version with my lollipop home apk so i'm sharing it with you guys (Screenshots attached)
Requirements
Stock 5.0.2 Rom (.690)
Deodexed
Root
I've only tested this on my device running those requirements, could work for others maybe?
Instructions (A wise man once said it's always good to make a nandroid backup before trying anything)
Navigate to system/app
Backup old home-release.apk then copy and replace it.
Set permissons to rw- r– r–
Clear data and cache of Xperia Home in app settings
Reboot

should work on odexed also. At least my room is odexed and have no problems. cheers

Yeah that looks like gravity box to me he must have got xposed to work without bootloop and playstore problem I wanna know how he got 5 icons on the home menu in a row that makes me want this apk more

Your absolutely right, it is gravity box, and the 5 row icons is by using gem xposed module

I't isn't a 100% working but the icon rows and size works! as for your other problem it is fixable but is a tedious process, you need to deodex your rom an have ric disabled to have xposed working without bootloop

Yes so far i haven't had any issues with playstore at all, just updated most of my apps through it on saturday

Hey unfortunately i don't have .726 installed.... but i've uploaded the default/stock home-release.apk for .690 incase it helps, it should still work, however if you really need the .726 launcher i'm sure someone else can help you

3D Emoji S9 style camera (experimental)

As title suggest below is 3D emoji and S9 Ui style cam. This mode I have made for my ROM but sharing here as it may work on stock/other roms as well.
There is no intention to work on it further, so first go though post, make nandroid and flash mod. If you don't like, restore your nandroid to remove mod.
You can report review which may help others, otherwise no more plan to work on this.

As it would seem - flashing means thru custom recovery. Unfortunately I am not rooted. But m still glad Ketan did it. #LegendsareBorn
