Knox alert - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hi guys, I wanted to get Brazilian Portuguese language at my AT&T Galaxy S5 so I got root access (Supersu said that Knox was disabled) and installed SafeStrap Recovery.
Everything worked fine then I flashed the Stock International from the International Forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761682. It works fine but I think it tripped Knox and I keep getting a message asking me to reboot.
Now Supersu cant disable Knox.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance and sorry about my bad English

How exactly? Can I remove it?

Titanium backup pro. Not sure if you can remove it safely. I tried a couple of times and the system wouldn't boot up. Just the Samsung and at&t logo. Flashed the stock files to get it running again. Didn't remove anything this time, just froze a bunch of apps. I am familiar with removing stock apps on Sprint phones but not when it comes to safestrap. I watched the install video but I'm missing something apparently.

Unfortunately I discovered that after I flashed the International rom my phone is not rooted. Although I have installed towelroot and it said it worked it doesn't. Anyone can help me to root it?

If you did not flash the bootloader, you could try this guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53454972&postcount=1
Then re-root afterwards.
If the bootloader was flashed, then you may be out of luck.

Sent a new phone with 4.3....what would you do?

So I was having issue with my note 3 ( bluetooth issues ) I upgraded to 4.4.2
AT&T sent me a new / refurb phone and it has 4.3 on it.
So Im curious on what you guys would do?
Upgrade to 4.4.2 and stick with all this stupid bloatware
or
Root, and rom it?
If that latter, does anyone have any links to do that ( I used to do it with my S2, S3 and S4 )
thank s
Root it. It's not worth the grief to upgrade it to 4.4.2.
You can root it and use safestrap to install custom ROMs, or just enjoy the stock setup with root.
Sent from my locked down Note 3 via the tapatalk app
ROOT AND ROM it!
I was ROOTED and ROM'd, but I got bit by the OTA Upgrade bug... I went through all the hassle of downgrading, unrooting, resetting, then upgrading.
Now I've got the fresh new bloated OTA official 4.4.2 and NO ROOT.
Should I use Kingo? is that still safe for the Note 3 on 4.3?
well I rooted it with Kingo, However I'm having issues with SafeStrap.
Downloaded the APK and Busybox.
Installed SafeStrap and installed the recovery. When I manually reboot or reboot into the recovery via the app, it just boot as normal
Root it!
I rooted with Kingo, no problems, the first day I got the Note 3 and took the Nb4 update. I was so lucky to catch the KK update and froze it mid-download with ttb. I am so glad!! I wouldn't be able to use this thing without root. I have installed safestrap and roms without issue. (staying on 4.3 roms mind you)

try uninstalling ss then install it again, make sure it is 3.71 not 3.72. 3.71 doesnt need busybox if im not mistaken.

I am going to use Kingo tomorrow as well I think. How does get root? Will it have superuser on it after it roots or do you have to put it on the phone yourself?
Thanks.

Did you try rebooting into recovery via a power menu? That is what the tutorial says it should do. Hold power to bring up the menu and it should then have an option to reboot into recovery. I am going to try safestrap too I think.

[Q] downgrade from kitkat to gingerbread

Hi, I need to downgrade from kitkat to gingerbread in order to make Barclays pingit work. I tried many things but the damn app to my disgust won't work on rooted phones. Is it just a matter of using ODIN? And which gingerbread ROM should I use? Can you please send me some links thanks! :crying:
Have you tried temporary unrooting from the superSU/Superuser options then installing the app.

Hi, thanks for the reply, when I install SuperSU it tells me I need to update binary SU by doing a manual Re-root? What does it mean?
Just flash this in recovery http://download.chainfire.eu/370/Sup...erSU-v1.80.zip download link is at bottom of page.
EDIT: here's the latest update at bottom of page http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/
Thank you, I flashed it, went to SuperSu, did the full un-root, it worked as the app disappeared but the damn Barclays app still finds the root and wont work...is there any other way around it? Or downgrading...
Found this but you need to install the 'Xposed Framework'' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2577095
Thanks but I've already downgraded to stock rom, did what I had to do with Barclays Pingit and re upgraded to kitkat again...now I won't be doing this crap anymore, I will just buy a cheap 2nd hand mob, install the almighty Barclays apps and use that when needed...easy...:cyclops:
Yeah probably a better idea until the almighty Barclays app gets an update so customers can use it on rooted phone, but tbh i can't see that happening anytime soon.

You could install xposed and use root cloak. Apps that don't work if you have root are just stupid.

Unlocked/Rooted Problems

Hi all!
Iv got a Galaxy S III I9305 here, and it has just been unlocked from EE, so it can be used with a Three sim instead.
But this seems to have caused some problems...
I have no idea how this person has unlocked it, but now when I try to open a Banking App, its telling me it cant be used as the device is rooted...
why would the person that unlocked it have rooted it too? just seems weird!
My question is, if I was to follow This guide to unroot it, would I also loose the unlock to use any sim, as I will probably have to flash a stock EE rom back on to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
cheers
Keith
You just need to flash a Stock Sammsung rom.Wich firmware have you now? When for example you.'re on 4.1.1 you need to find and flash true Odin Stock 4.1.2 firmware. This will remove the root.

Im not actually sure what version has been put on it to be honest, because it just looks like a stock rom to me, which is weird haha
It says its version 4.3.
So if I use Odin to flash this file... http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/38008/I9305XXUENH1_I9305EVRENH1_EVR.zip/
It should let me use banking apps, and also stay unlocked for any sim?
Cheers for your help!
Another option, would be to keep it rooted, install Xposed framework (which is great by the way) and then install Rootcloak.
Rootcloak lets you fool apps into thinking that the phone is not rooted.
I use it for some tv-streaming apps, which works quite well.

Problems after rooting, Help!

2 days ago i rooted my G800F with CF-auto-root through ODIN. (Used the latest CF-auto-root from here , with ODIN v3.10.6)
But after that my device is too laggy!
Much slower as it had 512 RAM. Root success was confirmed with Root Checker
SuperSU was also installed but sometimes i get a message that SU binary isn't installed.
I 've tried with "ROM toolbox" and "System App Remover" to unistall some system apps but i got the message "Failed to Unistall xxxxxxx app". But if i entered again "ROM toolbox" i found out that the xxxxxx app wasn't there. It has been unistalled!
Once Play Store didn't let me upgrade some apps, because it said that i must logged in to my account (which i was already logged in), and others problems like that!
What shall i do now?
Root again the device? Unroot the device and root again? Unistall Knox? (i've read somewhere that Knox is responsible for problems after rooting). Find another version for CF- auto-root? (the latest is for Build ID LMY47X.G800FXXU1BPB2 but mine is LMY47X.G800FXXU1BPC4 if it matters)
Please help!
Yes, if you have root you must disable Knox. If it doesn't help, you can try go back to stock to see if it's a hardware issue (it will still lag), then root again if everything is fine for a day or two...

I have this device for about 2 years. These problems have begun just after rooting. So, i believe it is not a hardware problem.
By saying disable Knox you mean delete/unistall or freeze?
And how can i do that?

I would first use Link2SD to freeze all related to Knox and Security log first. If everything went right, backup and delete files.

I freezed all apps and having the word Knox in their names. The phone isn't so laggy now but if i open some apps for rooted devices such as Busybox or Rom Toolbox they can't operate and got a message that my device isn't rooted. After that, no others apps for rooted devices are working! The SU doesn't open at all! All will work again after restart (except ofcourse Busy box Rom toolbox)
So what shall i do?
Unroot and root again? Root again over the previous root? What else?

I thought that CF-Auto-Root disabled Knox protection when used, but maybe not... I think there is an option in SuperSU to disable it, you must use it as soon as you open it after using CF-Auto-Root and booting again to Android. If it doesn't have this option, it's not only Knox that makes the security system that prevents root, there is SecurityLog too (and on MM I think I've seen Rootpd that probably is a root protection daemon). Probably it removed su when you were disabling Knox. If you can root again over the current state, probably you can try disabling security system completely this time. Check other threads about rooting G800F, probably there is a list of apps you must disable.

Thanks for your anwser.
The SU isn't permanently removed but only temporarily, because after restart it is working again
I 'll try to unroot and root again and we 'll see what happens

So finally the problems are still here. The device is no longer laggy, but the root sometimes works sometimes doesn't.
I root again over the previous root, again the same. I unroot and again root, the same. I install a custom recovery and flash the SuperSU, the same results.
Initially working fine, giving rights to the applications but later sometime does not. With restart reverts briefly again.
What on earth has gone wrong? I have root many devices and all of them were working perfect!
I would like to avoid factory reset because i don't know how to restore my backup without problems.
Is there another solution?
Knox disables root, it can even revert custom recovery. Did you disable it, as well as Security Log (disable its updates in settings first), as suggested previously?

Yes, i disable some apps with the word Knox in them. I don't know if is still a Knox app with a different name. Is there a list with Knox apps?
I didn't disable the Security Log neither its updates. Where can i find them?
So, finally i have a rooted device which randomly unroot itself!
And nothing can be done!
