Guys just use TowelRoot google search it and it would come up it the best root for G flex on 4.4.2 if you need a link let me know
UPDATE: here is the link you need to put in your phones browser http://towelroot.com/\

I have tried to use towel root, but it does not allow me to root it as it says device not supported. But thank you for your response.

I fixed root
,i fix the problem then I was having all I had to do was manually factory reset and when I went through the steps it booted up my recovery I didn't have a backup all I had to do which create a backup and when the backup was done I restarted the phone and it asked me did I want to fix my root and I hit yes and my root was back so superuser works fine now and towel route does not work on my AT&T G flex

[Q] Left partially rooted after OTA update - any help?

Hi all, hope anyone can help.
My phone was all rooted no problem after unlocking my bootloader etc.
I did the latest OTA update and it went through all fine. I saw I still had superuser on my razr i so didn't think much of it.
I came to use a particular app the other day and realised it wasn't working.
I rebooted my phone and noticed for the first time that the unlocked that appears under the motorola sign (when I unlocked the bootloader it started displaying) was now missing.
I tried to update the binary settings on the superuser and it kept on failing. Then I downloaded root checker and it said my phone was incorrectly rooted.
So couple of questions if I may:
1 - how do I go about properly rooting my phone again....has my bootloader re-locked?
2 - how do I scrap the whole thing and go back to stock i.e removing superuser completely.
Thank you all and Merry Xmas!

Hi,
everything you described is normal after an OTA update. The unlocked image at startup is replaced by the standard one but your bootloader stays unlocked. Root access gets lost after the update but you simply have to re-root it as you did the first time. (root exploit or root zip for cwm)
look here:

I hope this helps.

Cheers but I won't be able to do this I think as superuser is a system file that I cannot remove without being fully rooted first so therefore I guess I will have to re-root it to unroot it lol.

If su is still there (/system/bin/su or /system/xbin/su), all you need is SuperSU, which you can install from the Play store. (Without an "su-ish" app, apps can't get root, even though su is installed.) If su isn't still there you'll have to root again.

No, if SuperSU is still there and you don't get root, the su binry is evidently missing. That mans that you have to root all over again. (You need to be rooted to install the su binary, which you aren't, so ... which is why rooting uses an exploit [a different one in each line of phones] to get temporary root so it can install su to get permanent root.)

i have tried with odin but it keeps failing should i use the kingo root insted ?
at this stage what would be the best way to re-root
thanks in advance
Are you following these instructions? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715
Everyone else seems to report that this method for getting root works.
Kingo root works (though some people don't like Kingo)
Also - always freeze OTA update app after you root, otherwise you'll lose root with every OTA update.
If you're expecting an OTA update, you can unfreeze the app, then use SuperSU survival mode, then let it update, and then turn off survival mode to get root back. But ofc it's too late for that now in your case.

Kingo is fine. The Heimdall and Odin one is a pain in the but and risky. Mostly for restoring. I used kingo and its just fine. If you mess up then you can go to that other link and restore with or without root.

As far as I know all you have to do is download SuperSU from the playstore after your phone reboots from clicking "make it rain".
I personally have not used this method to root my phone because I was already rooted.
UPDATE : After watching videos online, it seems that SuperSU is not needed with this root method. Without SuperSU, there doesnt seem to be a method to unroot as of right now. I'm sure Chainfire (maker of SuperSU) has already heard about this and is working on a fix for SuperSU. He personally hasn't posted anything about it though.
UPDATE 2 : Apparently the latest SuperSU 1.99r5 fixes this issue. Problem is, that isn't the version on the Google Playstore.

All I did was extract the apk from the zip file and uploaded it to my dropbox. I tested it on my phone and it worked.
UPDATE : Chainfire just updated the apk listed on the playstore. So just go on there and download that version and you will be set.

When you phone boots up, does it show a unlocked padlock? When you put towelroot on it and click to "make it rain" does it say "You should now have root, no reboot required" or " This phone isn't currently supported"? Uninstall Supersu restart phone and install Supersu again. It shouldn't be giving you any problem as this is the only baseband that can be rooted.
