Hello, I'm a noob!
So my HTC One internal storage and system was wiped through twrp.
Iv tried flashing Ruu.zip through fastboot, and iv tried adb sideload but nothing's working.
HTC m7_ul
Bootloader unlocked
S-on
hboot 1.56
Radio 4A.25.3263.21
Os-4.19.401.11
CID HTC_001
Modelid: PN0710000
I'm not very good at this, I just want my phone back to when I got.
I did root it with supersu but now everything is gone.
I can get into bootloader and recovery -twrp
Can you please help me, my HTC is unusable?
Step by step instructions would be appreciated.

Yes it will do, the ruu is no good for you, it's a lower version than what you already have on your phone, 4.19.401.9 where you have 401.11 you can't downgrade.
You will have to flash twrp recovery 2.6.3.3 and use the guru reset file linked below, put it on your internal storage and flash it from recovery, select wipe data, stock recovery and stock radio during the aroma installer
http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/10/guru-reset-3-62-401-1-stock-rom/

Yeah that site has problems with the downloads sometimes, check the file size and the md5 before trying to push it, you have to just keep trying to download it until you get all of it, it's a pain I know.

hey I want to update my htc one to 4.4 and get rid of twrp.
I´ve unlocked it via htcdev and installed twrp.
i have got s-on
hboot 1.54.0000
CID vodap120 (as far as i know this is still the orginal one)
can I just relock the phone or do i need stock recovery? (hop I´m useing the coreced terms here :/ )
if so can I follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545227.
I remeber that I had to download some drivers when I unlocked the phone and I dont think that they are still on my computer. could someone send me a link to them?
thanks

You don't want to lock the bootloader unless you plan to reflash an RUU. with it unlocked you will just need to reflash to the stock recovery and then do your update. Are you trying to run an ota to 4.4?
Here is a link to drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232799

This tool might be easier to use and quicker for getting the required ADB & Fastboot tools. Here is what is required to receive an OTA update. And yes, you will need your stock recovery installed. However, since you are on a lower hboot, it might be more beneficial to S-OFF first before the 4.4 update. S-OFF gives you more options going forward.

I couldn't agree more. the ability to change CID and flash any available RUU while bootloader unlocked is a huge advantage if you like to be adventurous with your devices' software.
first of all thanks for the quick reply
so more detail:
right know I´m getting the information that there has been an update issue.
I´m running on 4.2.2 (the software number is 2.24.161.1(I dont know how important that is or what it actually is)
after clicking on software-updates he told me that I can download 3.63.161.6
yes I want to make an ota update
need to reflash to the stock recovery

how do I do that. I need a file for that am i right? Which is the right one for me?
after reflashing stock recovery do i need to do something else.
oh yes i forgot to mention that i have super su. is that a problem?
ps I dont need advantages because I decided that I wont do any changes improvements to my system

First, read this post about OTA Updates.
Next, you need to download two OTA files from this site. The 2.24.161.1 OTA and the 3.63.161.6 OTA will be used to update your phone.
After downloading the first (2.24 OTA) open up the zip and find the firmware.zip file. Open the firmware.zip and extract the recovery.img file from it. This file is your stock recovery. You flash it like you did your custom recovery by placing it in your ADB/Fastboot folder. Here are the steps:
In bootloader/FASTBOOT USB:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Relock your bootloader with this command in FASTBOOT USB: fastboot oem lock
You can follow the steps in this post on Manually Installing OTAs.
Please read everything at least twice. If you don't understand something then don't hesitate to ask!

much simpler way, as unlocking the bootloader deletes some files required to update, just leave twrp on your phone for the time being, and download this rom ive linked below, if your phone is currently booting up, then just plug it into the computer and move the zip file to your internal storage, then reboot into recovery and install it like you would do with any other rom, during the aroma installer, select wipe data, install stock recovery and install stock radio, upon reboot, you couldn't be anymore stock.
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-161-1-zip/
guru reset stock rom 2.24.161.1 Vodafone for the following devices:

cidnum: VODAP405

why should i relock bootloader if unlocked doesnt matter?

Hello, as title says, I need help with going back to stock. I bought this phone super cheap (120€) from some german guy. It works like a charm, but my native language is nowhere so I decided to root and use morelocale2. But when I root I can't update. I already relocked bootloader.
Now I need to pick up right (RUU?), but I just can't understand it.
Radio-4T.27.3218.14
HBOOT-1.57.0000
OS-5.11.401.10
I wondered if I can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2753631 , but it's called firmware so i don't know if it's ota or ruu, or i need to use that stock firmware downwards or am I completely wrong?
Thanks for all responses, cheers
There is no RUU available for your phone version If your phone is S Off then you can flash 4.19.401.9 RUU
If not then you have to restore nandroid backup or flash stock Rom reset according to your software version

You should be able to download the OTA from the phone. However, you may have some missing files that the OTA will be looking to update. In the post where you got the ROM towards the bottom is a preload file zip. If you need them this is where you can get them to complete the update.

I don't think I'm missing some files. I didn't install the aroma zip with TWRP, I installed them with CWM. Successful. But when I tried to install software update, my phone reset, I didn't watch the installation, but when phone booted, it had setup screen on it. I'm currently downloading a 4.4.3 OTA so we'll see.
EDIT: Downloaded OTA, put in sdcard, trying to boot into recovery, phone automatically boot to ota install, instead of green, it's red and after a while back to android. Im hopeless guys, I think i'll live with 4.2.2 and let someone more experienced and more skilled let this do.

you can not apply ota manually from stock recovery with s-on. go in settings --> about --> software update
First time you did, your phone performed a factory reset right? This happen sometimes when re-installing stock recovery. just apply the ota again from settings --> about --> software updates.
then if you get a red triangle with an exclamation mark inside, hold vol+ and press power then release both and you should see some text in yellow. post the text if it fail.

so since you can get to custom recovery, first fix your misc partition as mentioned in the first post
since you're S-ON, unfortunately there is no RUU for you. can you post a screenshot of your bootloader please, i'm interested in the date
can you explain what you flashed to get in this situation, with link to thread please
and you wanna stick with this thread, or the other one?

Fix misc partition by restoring the generic mmcblk0p19?
Basically what I was trying to do was get s-off, so I installed various different roms such as cm11 and older versions of sense to help with the process because some didn't work. After a few attempts I got the cmd error and couldn't get into recovery. I followed the steps in your thread and managed to get back into recovery.

yes, that would be the first step
after that, (before messing around with firmware), install a radio from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419699
i know they're not the latest (dont have any links handy atm), but install one of them in custom recovery, and see if baseband comes back

The Story
So a few days ago I decided I wanted to try rooting my phone despite not really knowing much about the process.
First I unlocked my bootloader, simple enough right? Even managed to change my recovery to twrp and it worked fine.
Being naive I decided to tried to root the phone by installing supersu using twrp. I placed a zip file on my phone and attempted to flash using twrp
Long be hold my phone was still booting but then I tried to update the version of supersu because it was not working. This is when the problems started.
A tampered flag appear in my bootloader which of course is because I was not S-OFF! (Did not know what that was at the time)
So now my phone appears to be bricked and I can no longer boot into the OS
After much research and trying out different solutions, nothing appears to work.
From what I have gathered the only thing I can do is to restore the stock image. That would be fine if it were possible to find!
Not sure how accurate this is but I have read that RUUs do not work if you are S-ON.
Please someone help me...Not having a phone for 2 days now is a bummer!
EDIT :adb and fastboot are installed and working. Though adb seems to only work when I am in recovery
UPDATE: So as suggested by alray I updated the supersu to newest version and my phone now boots!
Thank you to all who responded!

Whoa both supersu version are really outdated. You must use 2.46 on lollipop so boot in your recovery and flash 2.46 and if your phone still refuse to boot we will help you relfash the rom.
Sorry, forgot to say, don't post your IMEI, remove it from your above post.
Should blank out your serial and imei on the forum

Just curious why exactly is it a bad idea to post the imei and serial?
OK I will reply with the results of updating the superSU
This is actually quite weird but I have the exact same problem as you and seem to have the same MID and CID as you aswell.
I also happened to get the SuperSU 1.30 which didn't work (it kept crashing on me). I then updated it to 2.46 but then the phone stopped booting. I was just about to create a thread to ask for help but then I saw this, haha.
Edit: Would downloading a Nandroid restore from guru's stock nandroid backups work? (can't post link) I've downloaded the TWRP ROGER001 backup, extracted all the files into a folder in TWRP (which is visible to "Restore" on TWRP) but I'm not sure whether I should do it.

Just tried this; it did work and I've been reverted to Android 4.3 but my phone actually boots.
Edit: Whoops. Turns out this is a bad idea.

because the IMEI is a unique number identifying your phone, each phone have its own unique IMEI number. Lets say you loose your phone, you will call your carrier to declare your phone lost/stolen, they will blacklist your IMEI number so the phone can't be activated anymore on any GSM network.
Also your IMEI number could be used with other information like your sim card number / serial to clone your phone.
Its like sharing your social security number

Not sure I understand your question. What do you mean by version? My "getvar all" information is actually exactly the same as OP.
The nandroid backup that I downloaded was "M7 TWRP Nandroid Backup CID ROGER001 3.22.631.1". Hope that helps.

So you just created a mismatch between your software version and your firmware version.
Your software is now 3.22.631.1 and your firmware is 7.17.631.7, you want the firmware and software to be the same version hence why OP shouldn't do the same.
There is already a 7.17.631.7 ruu posted in the general section, use this instead and then root your phone using supersu 2.46
So if you are s-on, you will need to re-lock the bootloader first, flash the 7.17.631.7 ruu, unlock the bootloader, flash twrp and root.

Nevermind; it seems to be available on htcdev. I hope that is okay to use.

The ruu is here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
relock your bootloader (only if the phone is s-on)
flash the ruu
unlock your bootloader again
flash your custom recovery
flash supersu 2.46
btw if you are using a recent twrp recovery like 2.8+ it should already have the latest supersu included so you don't need to flash supersu 2.46 manually, just enter twrp then exist, you'll prompted to root, select "yes" and the phone will reboot and be rooted.

Stupid question but to flash it, do I do the following:
reboot oem
fastboot flash zip *nameofruu* (twice if need be)
fastboot reboot-reloader

no.
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
fastboot reboot
You need to use htc_fastboot.exe which is provided in that thread and no longer need to flash twice. After doing "fastboot flash zip ruu.zip" the ruu will flash the pre-update, reboot itself in ruu mode and continue the second flash automatically.

Is there an advantage of using the htc-fastboot other than not having to hit it twice? Because then I can just use the one I have been previously that does work on Linux.
If you google "htc one root linux", the first link from htconeroot is the tutorial I was following. He had shared fastboot/adb files that work on linux and those are the ones I am using.

the normal fastboot won't work to flash 7.xx.xxx.x ruu, you must use htc's version of fastboot which is only available in .exe. the "normal" fastboot from google can't handle the file size of new 7.xx.xxx.x RUUs.
Hello, so I rooted my phone successfully. But when I installed SuperSU the program didnt seem to work, so I replaced it with with a newer version on SuperSU.
Somewhere along those lines I managed to bootloop my HTC.
I have tried EVERYTHING to get my phone going. With little progress.
I am currently trying to reflash the stock ROM onto my phone using adb push, and adb sideload with both TWRP and CWM, but it keeps saying that it failed or its bad when I try to install it through recovery... i've tried 3 different RUU downloads.
What am I doing wrong?? Please help!

Had a similiar issue a day ago.
What happened was I put a old version of supersu on my phone that didnt work with the firmware I had so it bootlooped.
I had to update my SuperSu version and it worked. If you are running a newer firmware make sure SuperSu is the most current version (2.46)
If not try flashing 2.46 and see what happens.

I have never even thought of that!!
So I don't have to flash a new ROM like ive been trying to do this whole time?
I know I put an updated SuperSU on there, and accidentally left the old version on there too... I had already done a factory reset and all... does that matter ??
[EDIT] Can you run me through the steps to do this properly? I really don't want to screw up again lol

Like you I did factory reset which did nothing
All you have to do is place the zip with the newest version of SuperSu on your device.
Then using twrp or whatever recovery you have flash it on their
Phone will reboot and it should be working
Not sure if this will help or not but I made sure to update my twrp to latest as well

Good to hear :good: For the record I believe your original problem was most likely your recovery version.
TWRP is definitely better for the M7 than cwm. But newer versions of TWRP tend to be a little buggy. If in doubt always flash roms with the recovery recommended in the roms main thread.
TWRP 2.6.3.3 has always been the most stable version
