i just bought a galaxy gear and it wont charge. it was working perfectly but once the battery was dying I tried to charge it and nothing is happening, i've tried different chargers and charging it on my laptop, tried another gear on the cradle and it works on the other one. is there anything else I can try?
I remember post from a long time ago that others experienced this issue when the Gear completely drained battery. They had a hard time getting it charged. Try holding the power button down for 30+ seconds, then retry it in the charger. Also try a search of the forums for "gear wont charge" and see what you get. If I run across anything I will post back.
Good Luck

Here is a link to a thread that discusses the issue. Several options that have worked for different owners. Try some of these. Taking it apart and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery seems like the 100% solution, but try some of the other suggestions:

Just recently installed alfs v8a kernel with GingerZaraki ROM but now I'm having problems with the battery. It completely drains in a few hours and only charges properly via PC. When I try charging it with the socket, it charges but the charge still drains at the same time when I'm using it, I've tried 2 different chargers as well and different USB cables. Help! Also, how long should the battery last with heavy use?
Try wiping battery stats.

I've kept it on charge for a few hours now whilst the phone is off and the charge level was around 50%. I went to check again 15 minutes later and the charge level is around 20%. What gives? I tried wiping battery stats yesterday when the phone was near enough 0% charge.
Anyone? I really need to use my phone and this is so damn annoying.
do you use your phone while charging? cause for me, if i watch a video via wifi (and maybe got bluetooth turned on) the same happens for me

sorry, just saw 'while phone is off', maybe try another rom....
do you use usb or ac to charge ?
But it shouldn't though, should it? It never used to happen when I had GingerXperia.
i would give it a try... you've got nothing to lose..
I charge using both USB and AC. It charges fine with USB but not with AC? I've tried different chargers aswell.
I got the same problem. The battery status graph even shows a perfect 45 degrees drain, after it charged to 100%. The result on the morning I got low battery -.- cable detach and attach fixed the problem, anyway. On any ROM. What is faulty here?
IS the notification light on?
I have just made a guide for this here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875257
Following the battery drain instructions on the Ginger Zaraki thread seems to have solved the problem but I haven't tried charging using AC yet, still USB.
I had an issue with my touch screen and tried multiple ROM's attempting to fix the touch screen bug and had no luck and ended up bricking my device I am trying to unbrick it but am unable to do so as my device has no juice and it will just not charge like it just stays at 0% on the battery screen or just stays at Battery Low on fastboot please help me I really need to get my phone working again as I am stuck with a terrible $50 replacement that cannot even run youtube without lag and has problems when trying to message friends and family.
Please tell me that you flashed each ROM on a full charge. You mention very little detail to what steps you took prior to this problem.

Sorry about the slow response I have been having problems with power because of a storm. I have installed each rom with at least 80% charge so there should be no problem with that, sorry I can't remember the steps I took trying to flash the last rom but I'm pretty sure it was an original rom so just guessing simple steps through bootloader, the problem is I need charge to be able to reflash a new rom. (the message I get "failed to validate system image Fastboot Reason: Fall-through from mot-charger boot mode" so it wont let me charge )
In some rare occasion while using multi ROM I had problem with battery dropping from 80 to less than 20% and stayed long time (half day) in that low battery state, solution for me was to turn off the phone, let it couple of second off and plug the charger. Sometimes if i did that after the drop starter the charging process starter where it was before

i'm sure theres a forced boot method of plugin into a wall charger with dead phone and holding power button for 2+ mins or something like that - this erases user /data caches to allow fone to try to reboot from scratch - will look it up
---------- Post added at 08:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:08 PM ----------
read this about forced booting try this then try below
this is how to force reset / wipe like I said WALL charger plugged in and hold power for 120 seconds +

still nothing
I think your battery is dead or some main board failure
It was working fine up till 10 mins before I went to bed. It was sitting on the cheotech wireless fast charger, topped off at 100%. I moved over to my bed and took my phone, started watching some youtube. After a while I put it on a nearby wired charger and....nothing. No charging. I tried another cable / socket? Still nothing. The wireless charger? Nothing. USB to computer? No charge or indication that anything connected on my computer. Restarting the phone had no effect, nor did keeping the phone off for a few hours.
Any ideas?
Edit: appears to be similar, but not the same issues to this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/suddenly-smart-dock-connected-usb-t3244683
The issue seems to have appeared after opening the cardbord VR setting in the youtube app. Its the setting that appears in the gear button after you have started a video.
Hi, I just had a similar issue today. My phone wasn't charging regardless if it were connected to the PC or any wall sockets. It was as if my USB port just wouldn't do anything.
So eventually my phone had been depleted to zero percent battery life, now the phone starts charging again normally. I'm little worried as to why it was doing this in the first
place. However it's working now.
**An update phone stopped charging at 46% battery.
---------- Post added at 04:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:25 PM ----------
Also it seems I have to hold power button and volume down to reboot it in order for it to charge again.
I am experiencing a similar issue. It stopped USB charging five weeks ago and after one week wireless too. I had left it on the side for two weeks on the wireless charger when suddenly it started to charge. Everything was perfect for the last one week (both charging wireless and USB in both fast and normal. This morning, while USB plugged in, it shows the battery being depleted (no overnight charge). Dead again.
I did factory reset several times.
I checked my phone before going to bed and it was at 50%. Since I needed a full charge for tomorrow I plugged it in to the charging port on my clock and it immediately said the charge was at 100%. Unplugging the cable dropped the "charge" to 94%. I checked the port on the phone and it looks ok, no bent pins or anything like that. I'm going to leave it plugged in to a different charger for tonight.
Has anyone else seen this? I've tried rebooting the phone a couple of times but that didn't change anything.
Your not the only one brother experiencing these battery problems with this phone.
It seems 2016 is the year Motorola programmed the batteries to fault. Too many users like
me are having battery problems. Check out the post below for a "potential" battery fix.

Thanks - I ran the phone battery down to about 9% yesterday and charged it overnight. It seems to be behaving correctly now. Thanks for the pointer to the post - I'll try those if this happens again.
Hello,
my HTC start to act weird so I did factory reset. After a few day Sense start to act weird again so I did reset again.
After few day of trouble I decided to install James rom, but my phone was not rooted. So I start to do that from Desire 500 root manual from this forum, but my phone turn off and now I can`t turn it on.
When charger is conected there is orange blinking light, like battery is drained out and I try to leave phone for all night and day on charger and nothing. Then I remove batery and charge it with shock charger in service shop. When I put battery back, all is the same. There is no way to get into fastboo. Can I do something and what to make my phone work?
Please help a friend in need
