I need to confirm before submitting to Sony Service center.
Day before yesterday, I check my phone in morning, It was powered off. I connected the charger & My Phone is not powering on. Not even the LED is lighting up. I let the phone over the charger throughout the night but still no response. Unable to connect the PC in Flashmode / Fastboot mode.
Just noticed that, if I connect the phone to the charger without battery the LED is lighting up. If I connect the battery to the phone the LED powers off. Is it normal in our Xperia ZR, that the LED will light up if connected to charger without battery. Or My Battery / Phone is dead ?
I am in Locked Bootloader
Any suggestion would be helpful. I am asking It because I have rooted my mobile. I am trying to flash clean stock firmware before submitting to Service center.
Did you recently flash a custom ROM? If so, did it boot before this issue? When you press and hold the power button, does the phone vibrate? How did you try to booting into flashmode and fastboot? As a reminder, for flashmode, press and hold the down volume key and plug in the cable, for fastboot press and hold up volume key. Try both of these while connected to your computer with Flashtool open, and check if you've succeeded. If yes, go ahead and flash your stock ROM, problem solved.
If you didn't recently flash a ROM, or none of the steps detailed above are working, it is probably a battery issue, or a kernel issue (some custom kernels have a bug which allows the battery to completely drain, making it unable to charge again). Try buying another battery and check if it works.
After all this, if you still cannot flash the stock, your only option is Sony Service, and even they may not be able to do anything. Plus, if they get it working again, you may not be able to claim warranty if you're on a custom ROM, though you might get lucky, since your bootloader is still locked.
Hope this helps.

I just rooted & on full stock rom. It was working fine all day. Nothing major is done on my phone. No vibrate while pressing power button.
I tried connecting flashmode & fastboot mode by pressing up arrow(and down arrow) while connecting to PC. Device is not detected in Device manager as well as in flashtools.
Just now only I returned home after submitting mobile to service center.

Then it was probably a battery defect. If all you did is root, then you have a reasonable chance of getting it replaced under warranty, mainly depending on the mood of the service inspector.

Hi guys, I'm new with Xperia phones and also new with rooting, flashing and using recoverys..
I installed a new rom on my device (iHackers rom). When i started installing I had like 25% of battery. When I finished the installation (I didn't flash recovery again because I did that with the help of my computer before, so file - zip was not on my phone) I rebooted my phone. So here's where the problem begins. My phone wouldn't turn on. Black screen all the way. Tried the red button near the SIM card, tried power button and volume up/down, tried power button..nothing powered my phone on, but vibrations were there. The red LED is blinking when i charge the battery (idk if it's even charging). If I take the phone out of the charger, the red LED stops blinking. I can't turn my phone on or get into the recovery mode even after 20 minutes of charging on 220v.
Guys please help..I'm in panic here.

Fastboot or flashmode working or not ?
The first your mistake was to flash with 25% of battery. It's wrote everywhere to do a installation with a fully charged phone. Now probably in the middle of the installation the phone died and the installation was not completed and this mean your phone is corrupted and dead. The only advice I have now for you to left the phone under charger all night, next day with phone switched off keep push volume down and connect the phone via usb to PC, if the PC will recognize the device and it will install drivers flash a Stock FTF straight a way.

Your battery is dead. Does the phone feel warm? Leave it plugged in to charge for a while (at least a few hours, maybe overnight) and it might come back.
Like the OTA warnings says, do not try to flash your phone if less than 50% battery is available. If you do, you are only asking for trouble.

When I woke up in the morning the phone was not warm..it was hot..the whole day i was trying to bring it back to life but there were still only vibrations. When I connect it to my computer, the drivers get installed, but the power on button and combination power button+volume down don't work. The only combination that works is power button+volume up(the phone vibrates 3 times but still stays in the same condition). FlashTool doesn't recognize the phone either.
hold power+volume up. then phone vibrates 3 times and should switch off. wait a minute then try to switch it on just normal. does it slightly vibrate?
now try this again, now with charger pluged in. what happens then?

I think i have solved it..I left phone charging for 3 hours (without heating up), and then i plugged it in my computer. In PC Companion (yeah I never thought it would be that easy), i could restore my phone without even powering it on. I'm now downloading updates..But when I connected, flashtool detected that my fone is in flashmode.

Just wants to said same thing - it's probably in fastboot mode but the battery is dead, just plug it and try flashtool or fastboot.
But O.K.
One advice - guys already post that, I posted that many times as well but...
Never, never, never do that if your battery isn't fully charged.
Charge battery to 100% and restart to TWRP and check your battery percentage...
and you'll see why - it never shows correct info.
The other day I was flashing ROM and had 87% when I flashwd and boot my battery shown 36% and stayed on 36% for a few hours...that's not problem when you are in OS but when you stuck on powered off device - it could be very tricky to power it back.
That's why you can't update official ftf if you don't have more than 50% of battery power...

Hello I'm new to xperia Z1.

My battery was fully charged. But after installation my phone is not starting.
In flash mode when I try to flash the stock it disconnects and reconnects. I'm not even able to install stock rom now.

No it's not.
Ihackers is working without any problems...
I said that many times but I'll repeat...
When you are flashing ROM (ftf) through flashtool, don't connect device immediately.
Open flashtool, select ftf and hit start.
Wait until flashtool say "connect device"
Then plug usb cable while holding vol down.
That way you'll prevent device to restart while it's waiting flashtool to prepare ftf...

I have similar problem, but my battery is still over 85%, and i got this problem when i try to flash cwm recovery with fastboot... what should do?
flashed 14.4.B.0.56 successfully. Phone turned on and I was not ready for it to so I held down power and one or both of the volume keys to reset it. Phone vibrated 3 times (i think) and has been stone dead ever since. Cannot go into flashmode or fastboot. PC does not recognize the device. What can be done? Tried sony companion software as well and it couldn't connect to it either. I get no lights on the device at all.
Can you connect your Z1s to the computer and it may say usb device not recognized? If so....
Hold power+volume up for at least a minute (shuts off phone completely), retry to get back into flash mode
Just brought my Z1 back after bricking it.
I was having the problem with the flashmode turning on, then dropping off and quitting right away.
I was able to use flashtool and flash the phone using the standard procedure of pressing the down volume button, and plugging in the USB cable at the same time.
After about 15 times of the flash failing, I tried HOLDING DOWN the down volume button the entire time of the flash. That was the only time it was able to flash successfully for me.
Maybe a fluke? I don't know, but it worked.
Good luck.
So the thing is, I decided to buy this phone from another person a few days ago while it was still working but it had this one problem where the owner told me about how the phone can't be shutdown unless the battery runs out of power. Any time you shut it down, it simply reboots instead. I thought it was most likely a problem I could fix after flashing, so I decided to buy it.
Using Flashtool I was able to see that if timed pressing the buttons and plugging it into my computer right before the reboot started, I could boot into flashmode. This phone came in the 4.4 KK firmware and the 10.5.1.A.0.292 Generic NCB build, so I flashed an older kernel and rooted it using Towelroot before reflashing the 10.5.1.A.0.292 Generic NCB kernal. After rooting (and testing if root apps can shut it down which didn't work either), with a locked bootloader I installed the XZDualRecovery using the method here because I was finding it so hard to unlock the bootloader and Flashtool wouldn't do it either. It automatically booted into TWRP recovery menu but when I tried to flash a ROM (existenz Ultimate 3.5 to be precise), it simply made the screen go black for a second and took me back to the recovery menu. So figuring it was a bad download, I downloaded a smaller ROM but when I rebooted I accidentally went into PhilZ Touch menu instead. Deciding to do the usual wipe before flashing, here's where I messed up like an idiot. I saw an option along the lines of "Wipe CLEAN for flashing ROM" or something and trusted it so much despite it saying it's gonna wipe the system partition clean as well (I still don't know why I accepted even when warned of that).
So basically now I have a system that boots the SONY splashscreen and then goes black with the back light still on unless the battery runs out. I can't shut it down no matter how long I hold the power button and if I restart, it boots back to the same thing. I have no recovery menu now thanks to my genius idea of wiping the system, and the only thing I can enter is flashmode. So when I try to flash an FTF firmware (I tried every firmware I could get) back into the phone with Flashtool, it would simply say "preparing for flashing" for about a minute before it says "device disconnected" because the phone decides to exit flash mode and boot normally. I have a locked bootloader (with bootloader unlocking allowed), so I can't flash recovery menus. When I try booting by holding the VolumeUp key and plugging it in, it enters flash mode only with the red LED on and I still get the same results on Flashtool.
Was wondering if there were any ways around this that I might have missed before deciding to open the phone and change the hardware? And if it comes to that, what would I need to change (have always been a software guy when it comes to phones)? Any tips and advice would be appreciated.
TLDR: Have a bricked c6603 from wiping the system, that can't shutdown and keeps rebooting and refuses to be flashed.
If you have time before the phone reboots, hold Volume UP and the power key for 15 seconds. The phone will vibrate once at 10 seconds. Keep holding the keys until you feel 3 vibrations. This will hard power down the phone.

^I've tried this and it simply boots back up again.
Hmm. That should definitely shut the device down, not restart it.
Sounds like there could possibly be an issue with your power button. I've heard of issues with the power button after water damage. Have you checked the water ingress indicators under the flaps? If any are red, it points to earlier damage from water.

Seems like you're right, I just checked it and it indeed has a faded red color on it. Do you think if I take the phone apart it the power button could be fixed or should I swap something else inside this from another Xperia?

I experienced this problem
Pls hold down volume When u connect your phone to pc via flashtool,
It will connect in flash mode
After that , just flash 0.230 kernel via flash mode ( kernel not rom )
Then disconnect your phone
Turn it off ( hold power button and volume up till it vibrates 3 times )
Then before it turn on again , hold down the volume down and connect it to pc via usb and this time flash 0.283 Rom ( not kernel )
This worked for me
hey everyone,
I recently got a warranty replacement of my xperia z3 compact. It came with the latest 5.1.1. I downgraded to .77 (kitkat) through flashtool, rooted, installed the latest dual recovery. In TWRP, I restored one of my old TWRP backups, which was a .28 (lollipop 5.0 I believe). When I press reboot after restoring, the phone won't turn on anymore. No LED or anything. When I plug it into the charger, the LED blinks red. When I hold down the power button while charging, the LED light became solid red.
Flashtool doesn't recognize the phone. What else can I do? Did I corrupt the bootloader? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
happened to me, just flash any stock firmware with flashtool (it doesnt need to be recognised) and do not plug in until it tells you to.
then follow the instructions and wipe everything
hope it helps

I tried flashing with flashtool, but when I plug the phone in when asked to, flashtool does not recognize the phone being plugged in.
Do you know why this happened? Did I do anything (downgrade firmware, flash wrong firmware) that caused this to happen?
I cant tell what did it, because flashing any rom will brick mine to this state, and what do you mean by not recognised? Does it say preparing files for flashing? does it give the 'press volume down and power button' pop up?

yes, after it's done preparing files for flashing, a popup appears which tells me to plug in the phone while holding the volume down button. When I plug in the phone, nothing happens. The flashing process doesn't start

Do you be sure to hold the power and volume down button before and during the time you plug it in, until the pop up disappears?
Had something similar, but flashtool magically fixed it

I know it's a late reply, but my Z3c is rooted and running marshmellow. My phone would do the same thing, I thought it was bricked. After monkeying and monkeying it finally came back. The problem was I let the battery drain all the way to 0, and even while plugged in for a bit it didn't do anything. I think it liked it when I would plug it into my laptop instead of the power outlet. From then on, I haven't had the problem because I try to avoid the battery going completely dead.
Although the last time I did by accident, it did come back after plugging it in. My suggestion? Try plugging and charging it in your laptop and then turn on.

Hi Guys,
I really need your help unbrick my Xperia Z1 C902.
Here's what happened:
I tried to flash a custom rom that wasn't compatible VIA AROMA ( I had MiUi 7 custom rom ) and it is now dead. It won't boot. No sign of life. No Vibration when pressed vol up+Power . Hard reset ( via sim slot ) has no affect on the Phone. No recogniztion to USB on laptop ( tried other USB cables as well ).
I have left the phone be charged overnight assuming the flash took a toll on the battery ( it was about 30% when I flashed the phone )and in the morning there was a red LED. Assuming the battery had enougfh power I tried to turn it on, connect to Laptop, Fast boot mode, flash mode but with no luck.
Day2:
Left the phone connected to the stock charger for about 20 hours or so.
No LED lights. No vibrations. No sign of detection on the laptop.
Sony Companion will not detect my phone via fastmode as well.
This phone is out of warranty so I was hoping you can help save some bucks before I take it to the Sony centre.
I looked through XDA all day but nothing has helped me bring my phone back to life.
EDIT:
I have downloaded India Stcok ROM via Xperifirm and tried to flash it but the flashtool does not detect the phone. Fastboot and Flashmode both does not detect the phone. Strange thing is, when I plug the phone to laptop holding the Vol down button, a red LED blinks for few seconds but the fastboot does not work ( as my phone has bootloader unlocked )
ADB does not work - No devices connected.
If there is anyway I can flash or install TWRP recovery ( or any for that matter ), I have the old working MiUI rom in the external SD card.
I will owe you a beer or two and a dinner if you 're able to bring my phone back to life. Please I am desperate.

Hi.
You have flashing led that means there is some hope first press and hold hard reset button for 15-20 seconds under sim cover then realizes it. Now plug in charger and dont touch the phone before 4-5 hours. Let it charge even though red led comes on.
After that disconnect your phone and don't turn it on wait for 5 minutes.
Also do check if the flash tool drivers are properly installed (window 8 and newer needs you to disable driver signature enforcement) use flashtool version 0.9.19.0, dont know why but this version works best for me.
Flash *.108 firmware (available in xda) also do always check hash after downloading.
Now try to flash the firmware as normally we do and hope for the best. This method worked fine for me many times.
Good luck..! [emoji111]
The flashing Red LED is bringing back some really bad memories of my own Hard brick. Try what kathanpatel suggests first - holding the reset button down.
Are your symptoms identical to this?:

The red button in a sim slot won't have any effect unless your phone is connected to the charger (not computer). Connect the charger, press and hold the red button for about 10 seconds until there is vibration. Then immediately push and hold the power button for a few seconds.
