HTC One XL first charge and wifi problems? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there,
I just got my HTC One XL from ebay and I have some questions.
1. Does HTC One XL have this problem too? HERE
2. How should I do the first charge? Should I use my new cellphone first and wait to the battery discharge in order to make a full charge of 7 hours?
Thank you!

you are in the wrong forum, here is the htc one M7 forum. your forum is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-x-att
but I already owned a one X so I can answer your 2 questions
1. Newer batch of htc one x doesn't suffer from the wifi issue. Anyway I think that the XL variant never suffered from that issue. If this happen to you, you can repair it by yourself easily (I did on mine), you have to remove the back casing of the phone, locate the wifi contacts on the PCB and very delicately pry boths contacts upward so they touch the antenna firmly when you put back the cover.
2. Its recommended you do a full charge (100%) once before you use the phone, however I never did it neither to my One X or my One M7 and never experienced battery issues.

Where to buy Original HTC Salsa Battery?

Hi Mates,
I had some issues with my htc salsa's battery so I bought a new one from local vendor (As it was not available at HTC service center).
But that battery also didn't work for long and starts bulging so I remove it from my phone and now again I have to buy a new battery.
Can anyone guide me from where to buy it?
Thanks in advance

[Q] M8 battery in M7

Hi guys,
what do you think about compatibility between batteries of the M8 and M7?? I saw iFixit teardown of the new HTC flagship and they seem to have the same dimensions.
Do you think it will be possible to do as it was with One X and X+ battery?
The m7 is almost impossible to properly disassemble and reassemble without the special tools from HTC.

Yes i know it, but i have an HTC One with the broken display and housing cover and i'll replace all them and the battery in the coming months (I have skills in this), so I thought it would be great if it is possible change the battery with the m8 one.
Anyway, thanks for the answer.
The m8 is not the same physical size as the m7. Seems like a silly assumption to think the m8 would use the same size battery as the m7?

Sure it is, but mine it wasn't an assumption but just a question...a question based on the view of the batteries from the site of iFixit, they seem similar despite the larger size of the M8.
Anyway don't worry, I'll find out from me.

[Q] replace battery

I see on eBay u now can buy stock HTC one(m7) battery replacements. Have any of u done this yet. I would like to. I think my battery has lost about %15 of its life sence I bought my phone. I really don't want to buy a new one cause this phone is still fast even underclocked. I want anyone's thoughts on this.

HTC One Battery Failed : Out-of-warranty -- Will I pay or not

Well , after 1 year of use my Stock HTC One got battery issue lately, while using, from fully charged down to 60-50% the phone shutdowns,I need to plug the charger back , then it just shows that it has still 10-15% juice left while charging..I factory reset it but it doesn't solve my battery issue..then after leaving it charge overnight , the moment i woke up i saw my HTC One almost torned apart due to battery bulging causing screen to bow out , then battery overheated..just lucky it didnt explode or burn while im sleeping..
Now I send to a Local HTC Care shop and they found out that im out of warranty and device origin was from other country,i bought it from non-authorized shop, and told me I need to send it abroad..I was confuse and ask them why I need to send it from that country eventhough it is a HTC Device..
Has anyone has the same issue with the warranty even if it is a manufacturing defect??will it wise for me if I will pay everything and bring back my phone to life??

The HTC devices are made in Asian countries and corporate is located in Tawain. So that's possibly why they suggested sending it there. First time I've heard of that battery issue so it may be wise to write HTC for their opinion. Here is their contact info. If you're not in the US, you can select another country on this Web page, right side. http://www.htc.com/us/contact/phone/

I guess the answer depends on where you bought it.

.im willing to pay all the cost if it is my fault, but the problem is with its battery being faulty after a year of use.HTC must state that the battery will be faulty for a year and it will be a customer's account for repair.since it's my first HTC device with non removable battery,,i have no idea if HTC will issue a me a free repair or battery recall with my device..

You have to get those pictures to HTC. Hopefully the rep you contacted can get things going for your repair/replacement. You are the first to experience this battery failure that I have read about. Is there an authorized AT&T store near you? If so, I'd take my phone into them to show and see if they might also have additional HTC contacts for you.
HTC needs to see your phone so they can determine what caused the failure. That appears to be a dangerous failure. You need to sit down and document exactly what was happening before the failure started because I guarantee that they will ask.

im in touch with their HTC MEA digital media agency community manager, his last message was this
Code:
Noman Ali [The Cheek]

to me
Hi Jeffrey,
I’ve asked about the device, still waiting to hear back. I represent HTC’s digital media agency, and we don’t have a direct link with their customer care center… so it takes some time to source a problem.
...
maybe i need to wait for months!!!
Wasn't there a contact in that link I posted?

Ok, so there was no contact information for MEA region? None of these countries are near your home country? http://www.htc.com/us/regions/
I wouldn't give up. I'd start sending emails, letters, any Information to HTC corporate.

I really don't think its possible, you'll probably have to send the phone for repair. And you have posted in the wrong forum btw, this is the M7 forum (standard htc one) there is a dedicated forum for the one mini
