Theres a new one click root solution floating around called Kingo Android Root. The website states it works on all version up to & including 4.3. It also includes a good number of sammy devices in its supported list. Im wondering if it will work for the ATT note 3 which doesnt have a root solution yet. Im willing to guinea pig it when I get my device but was just wondering if anyone happened to try it on a different version?

If the bootloader is locked it isn't going to work until an exploit is found.
Looking into it on other forums its said to be working on several bootloader locked phones specifically the xperia z. I dont see how the bootloader would affect it as its not tryingnto install recovery or anything other then granting superuser access.

This root method works on the S4 with locked boot loader. Of we can't get recovery at least root access for ROM tool box will be nice.

I wonder if you can disable or force stop knox through the app manager and then try to do it. Hopefully mine gets here today so I can mess around with it. I live like 2 blocks away from an AT&T store if something goes wrong haha

I'm with NightHawk. I believe since CM uses it's own Kernel this will not work. We will get KK soon enough. People need to slow down and wait.
post here when a custom recovery is found to be working on the AT&T Galaxy s5 G900a
Thanks to geohot over at towelroot.com we can all bask in the glory of absolute freedom. Until a custom recovery is confirmed we won't be flashing any ROMS so when one is found please post in this section. As well as any custom ROMS known to be compatible with the galaxy s5 g900a.
Anyone thought about SafeStrap yet? Is this a possibility?

However, once unlocked on 4.4.2, you can freely downgrade back to 4.1.2 and have an unlocked bootloader as well

Downgrading your security version will brick your device, so I wouldent suggest it.
However, you can use AOSP 4.1.2 with it.

Then just don't flash the security component. Just do System and I think boot? I'd have to check mine, but I went from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 and back to 4.4.2 again. It can be done if you are careful

If you update everything to 4.2.2, unlock, then flash your modem, kernel and system to 4.1.2 you might have success.

The XT907 is surprisingly capable for its age.
Hoping that Verizon launches an LTE variant of the Moto G. It's a worthy successor to the RAZR M.
was this thread really necessary? the page u linked to links to a thread on xda in the razr m general section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783912
Unlocked it the first chance I got but for some reason the custom recovery won't work. However, if you guys got it working on your phones, mind if you can toss me the rope, so I can fix it.

T-Mobile doesn't lock their bootloader. Is there some reason to believe that will change with Android 5.0? It certainly will undo root.

Ive been a HTC guy. new to Samsung and I have the at&t version, I want to return it and get T mobile again. I just wanted to know if this was going to be for nothing, after the lollipop update.
It's been so mush fun hex editing, s-off and all that stuff. and if it will continue after the update. from what I've read they are changing the way the kernel boots up.
thanks for the help.
again I am just a 55 year old fart who wants to customize my $700.00 phone the way I want not at&t's way.

there might not be any other way; after all, 5.0 encrypts your entire phone, so one could assume the bootloader has to be locked for that to happen..
we'll see in a few weeks, most likely

well, no one HAS to take an OTA update, and, if you are rooted, make sure you do NOT take the update..
If you are rooted and on a custom rom, the odds are you wont even get a notification that there is an update..

In past TMO Samsung phones, custom recovery changed the Current Binary setting from Samsung Official to Custom. That alone disabled OTA updates. I suspect it's the same on the N4.Perhaps someone who rooted prior to the NJ7 update can confirm.

and yes ,you can still root after you take the update; all the new roms are based on the updated firmware anyways..

Just be sure to read the posts about s-health and private mode. If you can, don't use s-health until after you root and if you plan on using it, disable secure storage in wanam. Otherwise you're going to get some annoying lag.
Also if you're going to flash a custom ROM and want to use the fingerprint scanner, make sure you use the scanner on the stock ROM first. Folks are having issues on custom ROMs if they've never used the scanner beforehand.
