Hey guys , quick question about the moto x. What DAC does the phone have? I can't for the life of me find an answer, and opinions on sound quality seem to vary. Thanks for any input!

Hi All
I was just wondering if anyone knew if the Moto X definitely supports AptX for bluetooth audio? I have searched around these forums for a clear answer but haven't found anything. The device isn't listed on AptX.com even though most of the Moto Droid series is, and there really hasn't been official mention of it in the specs.
If anyone out there could confirm this, and know that they have had it working on their AptX devices, I would appreciate it very much! Thanks in advance for any help.

I "think" it does. The requirement for AptX is bluetooth 4.0 which the MotoX has.

I doubt it. Moto has to pay for aptX if they want it. Then they would have marketed it. Although it's nice to have it though. Honestly I could not tell the difference with my other aptX supported phone.

Does anyone know how to tell if APT-X bluetooth audio streaming is on by default on the Moto X? I have a pair of Motorola S11-HD bluetooth headphones that support APT-X, but the quality sounds no different than my Rezound did using them. I've tried looking through the bluetooth menus but it doesn't tell you if its A2DP or APT-X. I also tried looking for some sort of bluetooth diagnostic thing in the market with no luck. I seen where someone posted something about the LG G2 and using terminal to examine the build prop to see if it was enabled or not, but I have no clue how to do that with the Moto X. Any insight into this would be helpful, I just am looking for the best bluetooth audio quality possible with my phone, and from what I hear APT-X is he best as of now.

This is hard to answer, because there are many factors in sound quality.
Does the Moto X even support APT-X?
What are your source files? Are they lossless? If not, what kind of bit-rate are they?
I get the feeling that the S11-HD are not that great of quality, sound-wise.....so I'm not sure you would hear the difference anyways. I'm having a real hard time finding the specs on these(what drivers? Frequency range? etc etc). Throwing "High definition" in the name of the product doesn't make it good....it just makes it expensive.

Yes I'm having a hard time finding all the specs myself. However if you go to the APTX website http://aptx.com/category/phones it has the Moto X and the S11-HD listed as APTX products. I'm just trying to figure out if my phone is using the APTX profile or the A2DP profile while using the headset that is supposed to be APTX compatible.
Hi
I currently have a Moto G and I like it alot apart from the camera and the sound quality via headphones. I had the Galaxy Note 2 before this it was way better on clarity and low end. I understand that it's a much more expensive phone so not really a fair comparison.
I just wondered if anybody had any experience with the Moto G and Moto X and if the X has noticeably better sound quality of the two?
Thanks,
I like the sound quality of my headphones on the moto x. I have my old sgs4 headphones but I used my old apple headphones as well and sound quality on the s4 headphones are better than the apple headphones. But it would sound a lot better with viper4android as well

Thanks for the insight.
Anyone else with an opinion?
I do really like my Motorola headphones, but I'm now using my old Samsung ones, as they seem to have clearer sound quality.
And yes, you definitely should install Viper4Android, it's just the best.

Even being moved to the back, many users reported that it's louder than the Note 3.
