Hi everyone,
I replaced my LCD screen and digitizer at the weekend and am now having a few problems. The battery is draining really quickly, in about 30mins. Could this be due to a non oem screen or something? (got mine off ebay)
I am also having a few issues with the power button, there was a small amount of tape in place but im unsure if this should go below the switch or above. To prevent the circuit board switch from shorting or something?
Any help appreciated.
how much did you paid for digitizer?
well I got an LCD with digitizer attached for $43
I'm needing the same, how difficult was it to put back together,
taking it apart isnt a problem but theres that many parts I'm not sure if I could put it back together correctly
Can you tell me how many different variants of the LCD are used in the Diamond? or there is just ONE LCD w/ digitizer..? And from where can I get them for a good price?
Well to be honest, I have only had problems since I changed mine and the phone is now unusable. Its quite easy to put back together, but it seems really easy to create shorts that cause problems and I think the quality of the LCD I bought is far below that of standard and is using lots of power.
Have ordered another screen from somewhere else and will try that but think I will get a leo next week as then im due an upgrade
Would still appreciate some help with my original questions?
I bought on ebay both/LCD+touch screen/. Price is fine 36US dollars. When you buy only on of this you have problem with right connection between LCD and touch screen. Picture have little contrast but not tragically. Battery draining is same. Touch screen is more sensitive than original.

Maybe is problem with correct connect gps antenna to connector on board.
To update this I bought a new screen with digitizer from a US company and replaced the board that connects to the microphone and now more Diamond is as good as new.
Screen is as original and excellent quality

Hi,
my screen today has just started displaying loads of lines over it, i have tryed flashing but the lines stay, there is even a ghost of the Win Mobile Lock screen symbol.
Is the screen broken?
please can you post where you got your working screen from as i think i need to buy one!!

Hi,
screen is original.
what happened was, i enabled win mobile autolock, and then i kinda had a fit. It was turning the screen on and off for about 1 second each time, i thought it would stop so i waited about 40 seconds, then hit the reset button.
when the phone reset it still had an "imprint" of the windows mobile lock screen on the screen, as if it had "burnt" all the white areas onto the screen.
I tryed to screenshot it, but it didnt show in a screenshot so i presumed the screen was wrecked.
I have left my phone without battery overnight and it SEEMS to have sorted itself out, but im not sure!

Thought this was fixed but the battery drainage is still huge. The phone is now constantly hot, so have stopped using it. I have dismantled the phone countless times now as I thought there may be a short circuit but with no fix.
When I posted originally the battery was on 85% after 4 hours but then the next time I turned the screen on it was on 1%.
Its annoying as I loved my Diamond but now I just feel angry when I see it on my desk. Using an old moto flip phone at the moment which I hate, untill some shops get the leo back in stock. Tempted by the n900 also, any thoughts?

Hello, recently, my phone fell in the water.
I gave it to an repair shop named "My Mobiles".
The place looked like they "couldn't" scam people.
After two days of "servicing", they showed me the mobile.
They said that sometimes the phone wouldn't on.
The touch screen was working perfectly, someone showed me the working of the mobile, unlocked the lockscreen, scrolled through the different home screens.
They would service for another day, flash, and return it back to me.
The next day, they gave it to me.
They said that the touchscreen wasn't working perfectly in some places.
I wanted to test it, they said that the electricity wasn't there and they couldn't charge right now.
I went home with my mobile.
I charged it for a long time.
Then, when I turned it one, I couldn't access the touchscreen whatsoever.
I'm pretty sure that they replaced the digitizer with an non-working one.
But, I'm not sure how to prove it. So, is there any documentation provided that says that can identify the id of my digitizer?
I live in India, and good people here are a million-to-one.
What can I do?

I would recommend you to take your phone to that shop once more..
They must fix any error they made..
Or it would be better to take your parents along with you..(if you are a kid..)

Yeah, I did think of that, but the previous day, the digitizer was working, atleast accessible.
But, the next day, it didn't even respond.. I don't understand how that could that happen !
They did say that "it's an motherboard problem", but the mobile is working perfectly other than the battery and the touchscreen..
And, has someone used a new digitizer, successfully?

Why not? It shows you what you have to remove(1 and 2) to replace digitizer. Then whatever you remove you place it back, while you are replacing the digitizer.
If you are not familiar with this stuff i advise you to leave it to someone who know how to do it.

why dont take it to sony center
hey guys, so i have the LG Optimus 2X, P990-HN, i'm with Fido (doubt it matters) anyway, there was a large crack in my screen, and i just dealt with it for a long time, but eventually the glass FELL OUT, the rest of it worked, but i couldn't leave it, so i ordered a new Digitizer from DealExtreme.com and it was about $50 CAD, reviews tell me it worked, googled it nobody else had complaints, so i doubt it's a fake or anything, all the way from singapore, i put it in and i can see everything clearly through it, beautiful, but zero response from the touch screen. none at all in any area, what could it be? also, if i take the screen out to re-seat it do i need to apply heat and completely remove it, and if so will that make it garbage and need a new one? will the heat kill it? i'm quite upset because it costed 50 bucks and took a long time to get here, and i finally put it in and it doesn't work, all help appreciated!
Have you tried the service center ? One probable way to check if the new one really works is to connect the old one back and see if touch works.. You might have accidentally pulled out some other connection .. just my guess

if i take off thte new screen with a hair dryer, will that ruin the screen though?
Not sure about that . Is the new screen stuck on to the device like a sticker ? I recall seeing some YouTube videos on Optimus 2x surgery

The digitizer , screen and the glass are usually a single unit .. yes any one of them is worn out , it can be replaced ... but u have to find d place where it s done ..

yes i ordered a digitizer though, replace it and it didnt work, what the hell could it be i just dont understand, and i can do it myself but i don't know the problem
I have done this twice with OK success. It is important to connect all electronics correctly - check YouTube for guides. But even if you did all correct be digitiser might be defect. Either you being it to service centre or redo digitiser install. Maybe, you can check before closing the phone, and if not working correctly check with your old digitiser. Heating and reheating should be no problem (although nothing is without risk). Good luck.

hey, thanks for helping me out. i think the digitizer MUST be defective, i took it apart and put the old SHATTERED one in, and it works FINE, aside from you know... being shattered. then i plugged the other NEW one in, and no response from the touchscreen. the ribbon wire looks to be fine, the connection to the logic board was fine, everything was hooked up right (or the other one wouldn't have worked right?) so if i cant SEE anything wrong with a digitizer, what could even be wrong with it, it MUST be defective, but what can really be defective about a digitizer? what can go wrong on something with so little to break...?
Don't know what is wrong, but it must have been defect before you got it. Try to return it to the seller/shop as soon as possible and get your money back.

I Have C6903 Black, Bought on 14th Nov 2013 from a local mobile dealer.
Everything works fine and perfect phone, but i have a problem that is,
front camera alignment is wrong. it is not in the correct position when i look it. Please see the photo below,
is this with me only or with some other people or its sony's design..
please help me because if its only with my phone then i want to replace it..

I have the same alignament for the front camera and it works fine. Leave it alone. It is a normal thing.

i created it using mspaint Im worried because if i want to sell it later, it may cause problem. Thats why wanted to verify..

yeah cam working fine.. I see the (little) same alignment in back camera too..
i think they messed up with that shatter proof glass thing..
My back camera has a little miss-alignment too. It is working ok too.

pictures are stunning because the lense area is clearly visible to outside.. the issue i (may be we) had is the alignment of the cam, its looks ugly when u see directly. i have no other camera or phone to capture the situation. But today night i will try to capture that mis alignment and post here..

If there is a Scratch on the Display of the Phone, but the Touch screen is working, then u can't say No Problem. Because its Damaged already.
If you want to sell the phone to someone he will say its damaged. Same in this matter also. If its Manufacture fault then i can ask for replacement.
I spent 650 dollars for this phone, and nobody want to buy a defective phone. i dont know this sony's design or some manufacturer fault.
So i just asked help from other Z1 users. I hope you can understand the situation..

I am just saying there is no problem, this is not like a scratch on the screen.
If it is not broke, then don't try to fix it.
If I were you and that worried I would have already taken back to the shop, got a new one and be sorted by now.

This and my nexus 4 has stupid alignment problem, it just weird that with new design software that they cant get the alignment right.
It's okay though, they probably had those problems on airplanes too.
can anyone Confirm this problem exist in every Z1 phones, even Japanese version Z1 also??

If you want the true, your front camera compare to mine is a bit mess up. First time when I saw you camera I was thinking about kind of fake Z1.
But don't worry, my is not allineated well too and if you make good pictures you will forgot about that issue soon.

My front camera has a little miss-alignment as well, but in different direction lol, anyway it works fine.
On my Xperia Z i had miss-alignment on the back camera and it worked without problems too!
I've been having problems with the sensitivity of the top 2mm of my phone's screen. I don't remember when it started but I think it was around a couple of months ago.
Before, it was only difficult for me to swipe the notification bar down, but now, I can no longer swipe it down unless I rotate the screen.
I don't remember how or exactly when it started, but I remember that I was using ARHD 70.0, then I updated to 71.1 in attempt to fix it, but it only worked for a while but it came back again. I also tried other roms such as MaximusHD and Eragon but still the same. I also tried rebooting to safe mode but still the same. I also used both stock and elemental sense kernels.
I updated my firmware back then to 6.06 and now to 6.07 but still nothing. I haven't tried downgrading yet though.
I tried using the line draw test and the result is found below.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I already searched xda and google but i found no solution to my problem.
It could be a hardware related issue. If it's still under warranty revert it to stock and re-lock the bootloader and just send it back.

Has your device been dropped or been water damaged? The digitizer connection from the mb could have became a bit loose.

I have read on a forum for the HTC One X which seems to have a similar issue to yours where a part of the screen is unresponsive. Someone suggested to clean the connector.

I dropped it a few times while in a case and only around a feet at most. It never been water damaged, hopefully never will.
I see, I'll look for it there, though I'm not sure how to clean the connector. Thanks!

Tried cleaning it but still the same, i used alcohol because some say that that's good enough..

Just the stock sense/blinkfeed launcher. I also tried smart launcher but still the same.

I did some more research about it and people are saying it is a digitizer issue. So replacing the digitizer should fix it, but you will need to buy the lcd and digitizer together as its nearly impossible to replace them separate from eachother.

You have a dead spot. Sorry kid. If updating the OS still gives you the funk, you need a new screen.

You could do it yourself and save a bit of money if you know what your doing. There are tutorials on YouTube.
Alright, the weird thing is, it started working again :| i didn't do aything :|
