Hello,
I'm using the Omar´s Rom and I wonder if it is possible to use the latest rom (16/07), but with the systemui.apk and framework.apk of the version before of KREAT0R's white one( i don't like the the white system).
Is there any problem if i replace the framework-res.apk and system.apk of Omar Jul-16 version for the May-14 framework-res.apk and system.apk using 7zip without unzip the rom and after i flash the rom?
Thanks
No problem, you backup before just in case.
I made this and the power menu dont work anymore. I press the power button and the phone reboot.
I cant turn of my phone anymore. Can you help me?
I have changed "android.policy.jar, framework-ext.jar, framework-res.apk, framework.jar and SystemUI.apk and still have the problem. When i push the power button and hold to turn off the phone reboots. No idea what is wrong. Please help me. I just want to use latest Omar´s Rom without the white systemui.apk and framework.apk.
I had to flash the latest Omar´s ROM without changes to get power menu working again. I used the root explorer to change systemui.apk and the power menu was still working. So i changed the framework-res.apk and the power menu disappeared. So the problem is with the framework. Do i have to change another thing to substitute the white framework-res.apk for the original?
Thanks
Hello,
I'm facing the same issue with Omar's Rom (I did not try the latest from the 16th of July).
I am not sure if you are using XPosed + modules - this is the case for me.
So if I dirty flash the rom and wipe Dalvik+Cache, reboot - the phone is alive and the power button seems to operate as expected. And I have not seen reboot because of that.
Now, if I enable the XPosed Framework then the troubles begin.... Made some trials and I have figure that, in my case, if I have the XPrivacy module active, then the problems appear: the power button would not really lock the phone. Instead the screen will get dimmed, only status bar visible and eventually the phone will reboot. The same happens if I do not switch off the screen with the power button but let the screen timeout kick in.

Hey guys.. Ummm.. I had a completely, perfectly, fine rooted Galaxy S. [I don't know if it's still rooted or not]
I'd installed Darky's ROM [5.6], and was gonna put in 6.0.
I decided to do a completely clean install for some reason [I don't know, I'm stupid.] and there's where I made the mistake. The phone got flashed n all through Odin, but now my 3 button combo doesn't work.
I searched for a fix, and it requires adb if I'm not wrong. Problem is, adb itself requires busybox and superuser. I don't have superuser in the phone [I suppose I can find it in the market, haven't checked.] but I was installing busybox, and it said that my phone's rooted but something's wrong [something about a nand or something] and that busybox can't be installed.
I want that ROM and I want my 3 button combo working again
Can someone please help?

Which ROM do you have now? If its Darkyy's, its pre-rooted, & has busybox.
Umm.. I don't think I know.
I just flashed the thing with this.. 'h t t p : // w w w. multiupload . com / XWDSKCPGTD' and the JM1 CSC file..
But it's certainly not Darky's..
Though I DID put in the 6.0 .zip file in the internal memory. Haven't installed it though [more like CAN'T install it ..]

Download Tuxility from the market. It has a Thread here in Dev too. You get options of normal shut down, reboot into recovery & into download.
Hope this helps.
I tried that
It doesn't start Force closes
Have you tried Quick Boot from the market?
Yep. I installed it, opened it, pressed Recovery.
Nothing happened
[in the description of the app, it said that root access is needed for it to work, and since the buttons weren't working, I think the phone's not rooted anymore]
I even pressed Download. Nothing happened there either
2.1 ROMs have a different way of entering into recovery & download. You press Vol up + menu + Pwr keys, & you get the splash screen, release the Pwr button for half a second & again keep it pressed till you go into recovery.
Otherwise, there is manual way of installing the superuser & busybox, you need to search the forum.
Umm.. It says it's 2.2
Still think I should try what you said?

For 2.2 you keep holding all the three buttons till the flash screen blanks & comes on, on the second blank screen, release the pwr button. If that doesn't work, try to do it at the third blank.
I pressed the menu and volume button simultaneously while the animation was going on, and I got this screen saying 'FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING' and a bunch of values on top [in red].
Apart from that, nothing

Done. Didn't work.
Oh oh.. One more thing. The power button does NOT turn the phone off! It just restarts it! [so I have to pull the battery out if I wanna turn the phone off]

Up or down volume button? I always press the combination of buttons before the phone starts and wait till I see the download/recovery screen.
Power + up + home => Recovery.
Power + down + home => download.
By the way, this thread is in the wrong forum.

Good luck!
If you want to reflash a clean install but having problems getting to recovery or download, try the homemade jig. I used it when I thought my phone was dead and it worked fine.
Basically, once you have the jig, power off the phone (battery pull in ur case) and insert the jig in the socket. After 2-3 secs it should boot to download. Then you are free to flash with odin. At this stage I recommend repartition etc to ensure a fully clean install.
Enjoy

Try this workaround, it worked for me:
First, root it with z4root, just download it from the market. Then install Clockworkmod from market. From that program flash clockworkmod recovery. Now you can enter recovery from menu in Rom Manager. Once in recovery, there's an option somewhere to go into download mode - and you can flash whatever you want from there
reflash your phone by odin.
My P970 is bootlooping after a bad framework mod...
I need to boot into CWM with the combo keys power/vol/home but i don't remember how...
Help please, i don't wanna factory reflash...
Look into my noob how to, you got two possibilities. Either fire the hard keys, until CMW pops up, or set up adb, and do a adb reboot recovery.
What you need is this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22121547&postcount=22
Let me explain:
Connect your device through USB.
Download it then DON'T flash the recovery... instead just click reboot-recovery.cmd (reboot-recovery). It will work on soft bricked situations.
This is what I use when testing ROMS. QtADB too is handy and can boot into recovery while in bootloop with single clicks, has logcat, can transfer/push files in system and SD.
This is adb reboot recovery for dummies.
Thx, but i don't have my laptop with me atm...
I can only see LG logo, and about 2 seconds of the bootanimation... Is that enough for adb recovery ?
I prefer to boot with the power vol softkey combo, easier for me (i'm on a train lol, i have time to reflash lol)
This power vol solfkey combo, what do you mean with it? I never heard of it... I only know the possibility to fire any hard key, as long as softkeys are flashing, and then when you are lucky, you ll reboot to recovery as well, but I hope you get it solved anyway
depend on your rom. what rom that you use?
stock rom (by default) doesn't have key combo to enter recovery except you had flashed eRecovery
Nova Rom and Zeus Rom have eRecovery. CM7 has PBR
Just flashed Marvel Rom before crash... And Marvel does NOT have option in power off menu to reboot in recovery... So now, i don't have (e)recovery ?
I can confirm, with Zeus, i tested i could boot in recovery with phone powered off

in marvel's changelog:
version 3.0
- Fixed Music Player (no more FCs) - reported in 2.1.1
- Fixed landscape notification toggles - reported in 2.1.1
- Added eRecovery - you can now press "G" key during bootup to enter recovery (credit to Huexxxx) - requested in 2.1.1
- Changed default launcher to Zeam Launcher for more customization but very light in memory with customized ICS icons. credit to the developer of Zeam Launcher : https://market.android.com/details?id=org.zeam&hl=en
- Disabled shutdown sound, for faster shutdown.
- More ICS looks in Messaging, Contacts etc.
- Added startup splash of "Marvel ROM" - (not a very good design though) - maybe i need a graphic artist on this.
- Gesture key back to original LG default stock ROM function.
- More ROM cleanup - smaller ROM zip size.
- more to come

Back to business !
Thanks everybody ! ADB recovery worked !
Back to home, tested directly ADB, all wiped and Marvel reflash !
I'll try later "G" key for recovery, the only key i've never used in this phone !
Once again, thanks everybody !
You dont need to use G key, you can also use Vol keys. Just repeatedly press them. DONT HOLD them, but turn it on the device and then start to repeatedly press any hard key. This will allows you to reboot to recovery.
Its not possible in adb recovery reboot
It does a factory rest ...
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA Premium App
adb reboot recovery only works with CWM installed. Otherwise youll get a factory reset. But you could have read about that in my noob how to
Since this is solved, thread closed.
Made you look!
Yeah I know that the battery is non-removable, but I'm stuck.
I had Renovate nightly installed on my One and on rebooting it went to the HTC logo, then the screen went blank and after a couple of minutes looped.
However pressing the usual power and volume buttons had no effect other than to cause the capacitive buttons to flash.
When I plugged the phone into the pc and tried something ... I can't remember exactly what (not that there's many options) I finally got into the bootloader and then from there into TWRP.
Maybe this is where I went really wrong ...?
Instead of wiping and flashing I decided to just reflash the ROM. everything was good until after the aroma installed where I have the choice of "save logs" or "next" buttons to press, and it froze ... but again any combination of power and volume does nothing just the capacitive buttons flashing at me forever.
On any other phone I've had I'd pull the battery and try all over again ... please help!
...someone ...
Hold the power button for 7 seconds. When the buttons flash, do not let go. It will then force itself off.
If you're in recovery, you can try to use adb command like this:
Code:
adb reboot
or
Code:
adb reboot recovery
.
However, if you've a bootloop, try and try to reboot with the longpress of power button.
And if your rom will not boot, try to flash the kernel in fastboot
Unfortunately holding the power doesn't force reboot, the buttons just keep flashing ... I'll see how long I can hold it for ... again.
And I can't get back to recovery either. it's still in the aroma (kinda waiting for the battery to empty now) obviously adb won't work while in the aroma.
I really don't like these aroma installers, just give me .zip ... they work perfectly for me.

Aroma is cool.
Only with our Phone and, thereotecally, with the S4 will have freeze.
This, because, binary aren't updated for FullHD screen.
However, sooner or later, it will reboot, just try and try
Yeah .. sore fingers, that was about 2 minutes of holding the power button ... entered recovery, flashed a kernel, but still no boot time for a full wipe and reflash I think or try a restoring a backup.

Umh, strange... :/
Maybe try TrickDroid or OrDroid
InsertCoin is good too!
Little trick that I have discovered after having same scary experience where aroma would stuck and no power button or adb would help rebooting.
Press and hold power button for 5+ seconds and then while still holding it press one of the capacitive buttons, either home or back. Voila!

I flash it back to the original rom and then rooted it. Everything was fine. Then I tried to flash this zip that Remove 3 dots and that was when it turn into problem. It just stopped at loading screen and didn't go anywhere
I do have recovery but I can not get into it. I was so used to just taking off the battery with my other htc phones and reinserted it.
But now it is not an option~~~>.<~~~~~
Please help.
Thanks a lot
I have Marshmallow 6.0.1 installed on my Nook HD Plus. It has the problem of having to hold the power button in until it shuts down ( just selecting the power off selection of the power off menu results in a reboot). I can create a script shortcut that uses "poweroff" from busybox to shut it down. ("Reboot -p "results in a reboot......"shutdown" does not exist with my version of busy box.... and I have read that "halt" just shuts down the CPU without removing power. The "poweroff" command works but you have to hold the physical button down for a while for power up to occur when you want to turn the Nook back on. Does anyone know if it is safe to use the "poweroff" command in this fashion? Thanks.
rebooting when choose power off
I've encountered the same oroblem with this ROMs: lineage-14.1-20171216-UNOFFICIAL-ovation.zipand aosp_ovation-ota-N2G48H.180212.zip.
And on aosp_ovation-ota-N2G48H.180212.zip Wi-Fi connection getting lost after rebooting and need entering password again..

tnx for helping witn Wi-Fi issue, but power off problem is still annoying on my Nook HD+
can the CWM recovery 6.0.4.6 cause it?

With the AOSP ROM, if you don't mind Xposed, you might try the APM+ module. That allows you to basically rewrite the power menu and "fixed" the problem on one AOSP 7.1 ROM I was looking at. Can't say if it would work for sure, and it might not work at all on Lineage (probably would need to disable any LNOS extended power menu options first to have any chance of working there). A backup before trying would be good.
"Power off" causes Reboot
I've changed four ROMs:
cm_ovation-ota-NMF26Q.161222
aosp_ovation-ota-N2G48H.180212
lnos_ovation-ota-NJH47F.171021
lineage-14.1-20171216-UNOFFICIAL-ovation
also tried from terminal #reboot -p
but all the same.
May be "Cyanoboot universal bootloader" from emmc-cwm-early3.1.img makes it?

Every ROM from CM 12.1 on has this issue, or similar. Sometimes there is a reboot. Sometimes the tablet just hangs on shutdown with only backlight on. Some newer ROMs boot into recovery when "Restart/Reboot" is selected. No one has a fix except for the possibility of the Xposed module I suggested to you. I know for a fact it does not work with CM 12.1 (in fact, the Xposed installer app causes screen blinking). I have tried it with an AOSP 7.1 ROM and got it to work, but it may be a one-off.
If you don't want to try the Xposed module then your only recourse is to hold the power button in until the screen goes dark. That's a "shutdown".
