hi guys, i have modified Ohsaka Superwipe V2 to work on our wildfires.
original thread and info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=834812
I have tested it and it seems to clean out the phone and ext partition.
Flash from recovery, then reboot back to recovery. REMEMBER to do a backup of your cureent rom before using this, as you will lose everything.
Enjoy
Ohsaka Superwipe V2
Sorry. What does this do?

It's for formatting your phone and ext before flashing roms. Check the link in OP for more info

men, we are so confused with all those recovery stuff..
this looks useful though. all I have to do is flsh it from clockwork recovery and then use its benefits? As soon as I read your post I tried to find some instructions how to use correctly SuperWipe but I didn't find much. I am under clockworkmod 2.5.0.1.. I don't know if that's a prolem. So, after SuperWipe we firstly flash latest Radio, then Gapps and finally ROM?
Only flash radio if you need to for that Rom. This cleans out your phone in one swoop. This is meant to be better than any recovery wipe aswel as fastboot wipe.
Superwipe then reboot to recovery then flash Rom gapps etc

we can already clean everything before we install a new rom on wildfire im sure, is this really needed?
I know you can already wipe. No obligation to use it
Some roms can have problems when you only factory reset this solves those problems by wiping everything

can someone upload the file again? thanks
Thanx stevendeb25,
Will giv this a try, normally I wipe dalvik n cache then factory reset n finally format system. Thanx
PS dropbox link is down

Hi. I'm new at using custom rom and I have a question regarding updates.
I'd successfully flashed my milestone to miui 1.9.9 rom. So if I'll like to update it to 1.9.16, do I still need to do wipes like what I did when I 1st flashed it? Or do I just apply update?
Thanks

Techincally all you need to do is wipe cache partition and dalvik cache before and after flashing (don't forget flashing the baseband as well!). If you have problems, try a full wipe.

Thanks So doing a wipe on the cache partition and dalvik cache, am I correct to say I don't need to do a titanium backup?

No, you shouldn't have to do a backup. Create one just in case anything goes wrong, or you need to do a full wipe.

Hi All,
Is it OK or Possible to Nandroid restore my old Stock ICS ROM from CM10 CWM ROM(Recovery) ?
Thanks.
Yes. Done it many times.

You're on a safe kernel, so it will be fine, be aware when back on ics if on stock kernel you need to be careful or install safe kernel.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
yeah I guess if he made a nandroid backup of a stock rom.. 99% it has a safe kernel in it.
Thanks for the help guys ... :highfive:
& I hope the other way is also OK (Restore CM10 Nand backup from ICS CWM recovery) ?
ya

Sorry if I am asking/saying something wrong..will the Nandroid restore work if currently using a different kernel than the backed up one? Read somewhere that current kernel & backed up kernel should be the same for the restore to happen properly..
no.. u can restore the nandroid made on any kernel. just that when the nandroid restore completes the kernel will be that inlcuded in the nandroid
Thanks guys :good:
You may well face bootloop after restore, just clear cache and dalvik from recovery, should clear it fine.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
clear cache and dalvik from recovery + format /system
then restore from recovery
(recomended) restore using recovery & kernel you using for backup
works great for me
This is for the SGH-T879 I did not de-bloat this, if you would like it de-bloated feel free to remove all the bloat using good old Win rar. Once again this is stock UVMA1 just rooted and deodexed.
Instructions;
(If you are flashing from a CM10 Build use darkside super wipe first. if you are coming from Android 4.2 or 4.3 please use Oden to Down grade first the stock Oden flashable file can be found here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-T879&pcode=0#firmware then skip to the section of how to use this to root stock UMA1)
1)Boot to TWRP.
2)Select the install tab.
3) Select file.(Darkside Super wipe, then rom)
4) Wipe Cashe and Dalvik Cashe.
5) Reboot.
Note; This rom automatically does a factory reset (noob safety net), if you have a stock touchwiz UVLG image you can safely restore your data from a backup.
This ROM can be used to root UVMA1 upgrade. After upgrade use Odin to flash ClockWork MOD. Then from CWM flash TWRP. Reboot to recovery (you should now be in TWRP). Backup your data. Install this ROM. Wipe both cashes. Restore Data. You now have rooted UVMA1. If downgrading from Android 4.2 or 4.3 you may have use Oden to Downgrade first in order to prevent bootloop, it shouldn't brick your phone but why take the chance.

PS I am not a Developer, So no need to to send me cheese. This ROM was developed by Samsung. All I did is root and deodex it that's all. Although feel free to abuse the thank you button
Also due to the huge size of this file I am still looking for a permanent hosting site this one only last 7days.
As always I am not responsible if your phone
1) explodes
2) changes the nature of Algae growth
3) bricks
4) alters the time space continuum
5) turns evil and plots to overthrow the earth
6) or any other unforeseen mishap that may befall your phone due to the fact you failed to follow directions.
Give a special thanks to srpanadero for the more perminent link!

will this work on note i717 ?
In theory, it can if you replace the boot image a T717 Stock ICS Boot image using 7zip or winrar.I would still be extremely careful. Your best(TO AVOID BRICKING) bet would be running this through ROM kitchen with the T717 Stock TouchWIZ ICS as you're base ROM.

Thanks for this man. I always find myself going back to stock when I need some stability for a while. I have been getting too many reboots with CM10 lately.
No problem. I made back in March for myself, didn't know anyone else needed it until people started asking for it.

We need all the help we can get.
Apologies for the noob questions... Could you explain the advantages of the UVMA1 over the UVLG3?
All I want is stability, when I was running the stock UVLG3 I had issues where I had to task-kill to get ram over 100mb in order to have any audio on phone calls...
I'm running Jedi 4 now and it's great other than the calendar widget and wallpaper scaling.
If UVMA1 is better, would you mind reposting it somewhere? If it works I certainly don't mind donating a bit, I use my phone everyday and the people that make it work better deserve some compensation
Thank you,
Scott
No need to donate, you already did when you bought the phone (Samsung built it, I just rooted it) The UVMA1 build contains the latest radio for out phone and extra security features, according to Samsung and T-Mobile.

Can I flash this through Odin as I can only get into download mode with a USB jig.
I had TWRP and a CM rom and bricked it trying to do a restore. I tried flashing the stock through Odin (3 times) but as far as I get is the Samsung logo. Everything went smoothly with Odin start to finish but got a boot-loop.
Link not working

My friend's XSP also faced this problem. But I fixed it easily by wiping the phone's system partition and re-flash the ROM.

Lets use an another odd method that I once got something fixed with. Only if you choose to take your time.
First do a nandroid backup of your device. Then flash stock ROM and wipe everything via flashtool. Afterwards root it, and install a recovery. Then from that recovery restore your nandroid backup.
Things to note:
- Make sure integrity of your nandroid backup
- For safety backup your apps through Titanium Backup too
- If SP does not boot after restoring nandroid, flash the ROM zip again. This may have to do with the kernel.
