[Q] AOSP ROM for Xperia Z - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
My friend handed me his Xperia Z to root it and get a custom ROM in it.
I'm looking for a pure AOSP ROM, and let the modifications happen through xposed, but I couldn't find any.
I'm not looking for a CM, PA or any other stock variations, I need an clean AOSP ROM.
Can anyone guide me to a ROM ?
Thank you all

Thank you man,
Really appreciate that, but the first one is 4.3 which is too old, and the second link isn't working (and I think they linked to Paranoid)
Thank you anyway.

About rooting Z

My wife have a Xperia Z, I have have thoughts around rooting it. I wounder if there are any 4.3 or 4.4 roms that is exactly as Sonys original system but witth only the basic android apps(no bloatwere)?
The most important thing is that the camera is 100% the same as on the original Xperia system.
Pac rom

No it doesn't. They obviously didn't read your post before replying.
As for prerooted stock roms, there are a few in the development section. I don't think any of them are debloated though. If you have root, you can remove any app you like anyway.
Oh, just FYI for the future - Do Not Post Questions/Help/Troubleshooting in General.

One hardly dare ask about root in this forum, you may only mass response that we should not ask here or use the search. I am still waiting for easy root
Skickat från min C6603 via Tapatalk
There is no easy root but flashing a pre-rooted rom is pretty easy and as said apps can be removed with a root explorer. I don't debloat my roms because people have differences to what bloat is.
Example..
I don't regard some Sony apps as bloat as I use them but some people do.

I can feel ur pain, as I was looking at Samsung N3 Threads both Z1 and N3 was released at almost same Month but there was lots of Custom Kernels and Stuff, that made me think if N3 is batter phone then Z1 in regards of Development? Also its been two days I have created this Thread as I can see there is not much love for CM/AOSP ROMs specially Custom Kernels for CM/AOSP.

I think the most important problem for the z1 developments section is a lot of z1's owner have locked bootloader, this is why a lot of people have stock roms ( or stock kernel based) and they dont use custom room. I have locked bootloader, with status allowed NO and i'm having a lot of problems for unlock it.
Regards!

yes! that mod dose not work! but why change stock rom? is there any problem whit it?
I know that the CM based is smaller and smoother but I think our Z1 has enough resources to spend for some nice prestige whit stock rom! and in another hand whit stock rom you can answer the next call when your phone ringing for sure!

Maybe it's because the developers has prefer to buy another flagship like samsung s4 or htc m8 ... I think...
But for me the main problem is the locked bootloader. xD. Also i have to recognise the stock rom is wonderfull.

So, the thing is if you installed some other ROM but you did not liked it and want to revert back to your original ROM you can always restore your ROM only if you had backed up your ROM. Incase if your backed up ROM doesnot restore or you don't have a backup than you use flashtool to install the original version of your ROM. But there is one thing, your guarantee is already broken if you used flashtool or even if you install the other ROM and you don't have the original ROM that came up with your mobile.
Those files are just the original firmwares that developers have downloaded with PC companion and made the ftf file with Flashtool, so that it will be easy to install using flashtool.
So, if your mobile has the original ROM and you have not done anything then always update via your PC Companion or from Settings>>About Phone>>Software update.
For other people they cannot update from that method because they are not allowed due to many reasons and they need those ftf files from the link that you stated.

[Q] What is the best custom rom you've tried so far?

I was using existenz 7 and i was pretty satisfied with the overall perfomance, it's certainly a great rom, but i soft-bricked my c6602 so i had to flash a stock firmware.
Now i'm running on official 4.2.2 and intending to flash a custom rom instead but this time i want to try something else than existenz,
So what is the best rom -no matter android version- you've tried on sony xperia z in terms of stability, performance, battery life?

Does it have a good battery life? i was going to download extistenz ultimate but when i knew that it's based on stock 4.4.2 (which i had serious battery draining &overheating issues with) i decided to go with exsitenz 7 because it's based on 4.3 and i had no battery issues with stock 4.3 before.
How is battery life with it compared to normal existenz?

Yes that's true. Many answered questions are asked again AND again. People are so lazy to just Google for there answer. At least they should just search for the answer.. It's isn't hard!
the forum should have a first time opening dialogue for who access this forum for the first time. Just a useful idea to teach people what should do and what's not.

I'm looking at the PM right now. I reported this thread and he replied that the policy had changed so the thread was allowed. I messaged him after to clarify and he said it had just changed the previous day. He also said all mentions of best rom threads not being allowed were going to be removed from the site.
I'm not going to say which moderator it was, but he was pretty clear on it. Perhaps your friend should check with someone higher up the chain?

Xperia sp rom

Hi
Which rom is the best xperia sp rom?
My bootloader is unlocked
And I want a rom without any bug or a few bug
Thanks
Read the rules before posting bro. Please!!
Btw the experience will depend on user to user. You got jb kk and lp.
Stock jb, kk:- pac,Mahdi, vanir, crdroid , pa, cm.
You name it bro. And believe me. The devs here are awesome and their roms are as awesome as they are.
Next time don't ask or you'll experience cyber bullying from other guys.
Im on PA from neXusPrime. No lag and no bugs. Super smooth

I am doing that too. You have quite some options since you have an unlocked bootloader.
I suggest you read the bug reports on the threads, maybe try a few ROMs to find the best one for you.
Or maybe you'd wanna wait for a more stable build of CM 12.
What do you want in your dessert? Jellybean, KitKat or a Lollipop?
Btw.since you are on ubl. Every rim will work, even the lbl ones

I downloaded liquid smooth last night thought I'd try it out I flashed it with pa stock gapps works great, no issues but not sure it will be getting any new updates? You get quite a few customisations with this ROM and xposed installer. I'll give it a few days then probably go back to cm11

So I'm still using liquid smooth rom and I think I'm going to keep using it.. It is so fast and hardly used battery. I'm using latest stock kk gapps no bugs what so ever I love this ROM. Liquid smooth rocks but... It doesn't look like there are any updates which is such a shame?
