The Update Centre keeps telling me to update to 12.1.A.1.205 (which I've already installed, as seen in the screenshot). All I can do is to clear data in Settings whenever it appears again. I tried to update but it cannot be installed (with/without CWM). What can I do to get rid of it forever?
Root.install rootexplorer .uninstall updatecenter apk FROM SYSTEM/APPS

But the Root App Remover says that it is a key module and removing it will cause system crash/unstable or something like that.
PS thanks for fast reply!
Simply scanning for new updates in update center doesn't help?
If that doesn't help you could try repairing your phone using SUS
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
SUS doesn't support Xperia SP.
You can freeze it using Titanium Backup Pro or ROM Toolbox Lite.

of course it supports sp
It does: -)
Actually, I had the same problem as you. After updating to 12.1.A.1.205 using SUS the update manager kept offering to 12.1.A.1.205. The first time that happened, I accepted but installation failed and it kept offering the update. Just like in your case. When I did a scan for new updates in update manager the problem disappeared. But YMMV of course.
Thanks for your reply. I will try later.

Strange! Other people are complaining because they still haven't got the update. My Xperia Z (C6602) got the notification for the latest OTA update for 10.3.1.A.0.244 via the update centre app. I downloaded the update and pressed install, and the phone shut down, and installation started, but then it stopped 1 min after installing, the phone rebooted and I got a notification "could not install". What's happening?
My phone is not rooted. OTA update to 10.1.1.A.1.253 worked previously. Any ways to fix this problem?
The internet connection at my current location is not stable enough to use PC Companion or Sony Update Service. It would also take the whole day to download the whole ftf file. (Max download speed is 40 KB/s! ) Can anyone think of any alternative ways please? Thanks in advance.
P.S., I found a similar tread in Xperia J forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44735001#post44735001), but no solution to the problem.

I believe the OTA update will fail if any of the stock system apps are missing.

None of the system apps are missing as my phone is not rooted. But, my local Sony Service installed a local font without rooting, that's the only change made. (I don't know how they did that, I just saw them running a .bat file from computer. They said this won't void the warranty.)

I have xperia Z, i get new update 10.3.1.A.2.67 , download, accept instalation, but phone only restart and show mesage software not instaled, you try later
I try with Update service, but message is something like "you have modified software"
sorry for bad english
Thanks
Hey there, u have removed some google apps or something like that. Your only option is to install from desktop program.
If you have unlocked bootloader or rooted phone with some system modification, you cannot update with sony's update software.
Use flashtool to update or emma.

its a minor update and you won't loose anything. Also, it tells you all the details whether it will wipe your data or not before you start installing the update through Pc Companion.
