Kies and GG - Connection issues - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi all. After reading that Tizen was out via an update through Kies, I figured I would give it a shot. I downloaded the official Kies 3.0 and 2.6 and neither will recognize my gear. I have tried the following.
1. Using different USB ports on my desktop
2. Using a different computer
Possible issues: I have read that 2.7 is necessary, yet I can't find the download anywhere and updating does not work. Also I am using a generic usb to micro usb cable... not sure if that would cause an issue.
Does anyone have anything for me to try?

same here any help?????????

In order to jump from android to Tizen you need the first release ending with NE9. In order to flash Tizen, put watch into download mode. Hold power button until you see it say rebooting, then tap 5 times. Connect to PC and use Odin to flash stock Tizen firmware.
Download*Odin v3.09
https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
Reboot and you'll be stock Tizen, first release. In order to upgrade Tizen you can flash the newest firmware the same way.

[SOLVED] Kies can not update 2.2.1

THIS PROBLEM IS SOLVED!
Hi, I am using JPO version of Germany (DBT) for I9000 international. When I connect device to computer, update notification appears for 2.2.1. However, when I click on update after skipping or non-skipping backup, device disconnects and notification appears that device not connected. Then, clicking on OK update process ends but my galaxy s is connected to KIES. I tried numerous times and I am waiting for someone who overcame this problem.
full error message: Firmware update stopped because GT-I9000 has been disconnected. Please check the connection and try again.
I tried those:
Updating KIES
Hard reset device
Uninstall & reinstall KIES
Open KIES as admin
Open KIES in compatibility mode
Restart phone
I also tried Win7 32 bit,XP and XP virtual PC
Solution is in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997974
have you tried it on another computer?
If that does not work you can always download the version you need and flash it yourself through odin. As long as it's a stock rom it shouldn't even compromise your warranty
EDIT:
But first try the other computer, if it does not work on any other machine you can also suspect faulty hardware and just send it to samsung / bring it to your carrier. I think they will investigate and update it for you.

I am afraid that I had a bad experince with Odin. My phone connected to Odin. When I clicked start, nothing happened. After half and hour I unplugged, I saw a phone, a cable and a computer on screen. After that, I updated to Froyo using KIES, that is why I am not a fan of ODIN

Galaxy TAB P1000 NOT Detecting in ODIN

Hello xda users,
I need HELP !
I have a galaxy tab P1000
currently froyo 2.2
wanted to upgrade to GB
Tried the Odin way from another link on this site (MANUAL updation for galaxy tab(p1000) into 2.3.3 gingerbread ), it failed and the Tab got soft bricked,
somehow managed to unbrick it, now its back to its original fw, but it keeps restarting in a loop until i switchd the damn thing off completely
I have tried to go in download mode to flash but odin doesnt recognise it , tried differnt computers too, no use.
I have gone in recovery mode, hard reset, wipe cache , still when i switch it on, it goes in a reboot loop.
tried to use heimdall. cant get sucess as i might not understand how to use it properly
Please help.
Sincere thanks to you if you can help me get my tab up and running., if not in GB atleast back in froyo.
(PS- i im not worried about my data , and i have not backed up the rom etc before doing any of these)
Try to reinstall or install a usb driver from samsung
tried that before , didnt work
anyway now i managed to get it detected on ODIN and flashed it to GB

Yeah, happened to me too, nearly had a sh*t my pants when Odin didn't recognise my Tab.
I would recommend -
charge the Tab fully using wall adapter (4 hrs+)
plug it in with Odin open and using USB cable
don't expect Odin to recognise the Tab immediately
check back after 5 mins or so (I don't know, does Odin refresh?)
I was able to restore my Tab from the PC - ! - Marvin screen.
I don't want to go back there again though!
yea dude.. same here
i kept it on charge for a couple of hours and then tried.. bam it conencts..

My Galaxy tab also doesn't connect to usb after cache wiped humber os flash
Thanks in advance guys!..
Earlier I was using Cyanogen mode 10 Custom ROM but has few issues like recognize SD card.
later I flashed to Humber OS caused real problem.
It was clock work recovery installed but my tab tab boots stays on screen humber OS.
It goes to recovery mode, and also to some unknown recovery mode.
Either the way not recognized by computer. I tried all options like heimtal an Odin. No help.
Friends any help, would be highly appreciated.

Any solution to this given the fact that usb drivers have been installed?
Are you sure it is recognised by the computer before trying Odin or Heimdall?

4 Reasons Why Odin is Not Detecting Your Android Device:
Reason 1: No drivers installed for your phone
Most of the time Odin is not able to detect your phone, simply because you haven’t installed the drivers for your phone. Normally windows would automatically download the respective drivers for your phone from the internet and install it. But in case it isn’t able to do so, you need to download the drivers from your phone manufacturer’s website.
Reason 2: Inferior quality or damaged USB cable
Odin is very sensitive to low quality or damaged USB cables, which is a major reason why odin will detect your android phone in file transfer mode but fail to detect it in download mode. You might have a genuine USB cable that came with your Android phone but with time its quality will depreciate, which is why you might have to get a new USB cable.
Reason 3: Odin is corrupted
This happened once with a reader on my blog, we tried everything to solve his problem, but in the end using a different version of Odin worked out for him.
Reason 4: USB port is defective
Defective USB ports can also be a reason for Odin not detecting your Android phone. This was a problem faced by one of my readers and plugging the USB cable in another USB port worked out for him.

and I need install cwm recovery on a twrp recovery and just do that with this app:
ROM Manager
if you want do same job; you can download it from google play easily!
and install recovery,rom or restore backup with it.

reason 1: my phone is samsung and it's detected by ODIN, kies and I transfer files from and to my computer without problems. also tried reinstalling just in case but nothing, so I guess this is not the answer for my problem
reason 2: tried with original cable, but as I didn't use the tablet for a long time I also thought it could be the cable, so I asked a friend of mine if he could lend me one cable, but that didn't work. pity. :/
reason 3: tried 3 different versions of ODIN, and in every version my phone (mentioned above) is detected. shame. :S
reason 4: tried the 3 different USB ports in my laptop. two 2.0 USB ports and one 3.0 USB port, so again I doubt this is the reason of my problem.
extra reason: ~~~ maybe it's the OS version ~~~ // this laptop came with windows 8 preinstalled. nothing. then, I updated to win 8.1. again nothing. now I'm running windows 10 and the same, nothing is detected neither by ODIN nor the computer. also tried in 4 different computers running win xp, win 7 and other with win 8.1.
btw, thank you anyway for your apportation; this may help other people, but unfortunately, it's not my case, so can anybody else join me to think about a new reason and a way to solve it? thank you very much :good: :highfive: :fingers-crossed:
~~~~~~~~~~~~ EDIT ~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have continued researching and found a software. it didn't work for me, but maybe it works for other people.
-first, you have to make sure you have java installed on your computer.
-second, extract the oneclick.rar file on an easy-access directory.
-third, put your tab on download mode (while charging icon when tab is turned off, press power + volume down until a yellow triangle appears).
-fourth, click start unsoft-brick and let the magic begin! 8)
note: if a warning error pops up, trust the software and click on resolution center and follow the instructions of one of the three "alternative ways".
[Q] Samsung Galaxy S stuck on boot screen
Hi, i'm noob in Galaxy Flashing so this is my problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 blocked from italian carrier.
Few times ago i tried to enable 3-buttons download/recovery mode installing Aries_P-SBL.tar.md5 with Odin. The installation finished successfully but the download/recovery mode still didn't work.
After some reboots (where the phone worked right), now the phone stucks in the boot screen (the one with Galaxy S GT-I9000 SAMSUNG).
With the JIG i can enter download mode but my computer can't detect the phone (Windows feels my USB connection but Odin does not detect it).
If i connect the phone to the computer in normal mode (not in download mode, so with stuck screen), Kies can detect the phone but says that it can't talk with phone in this way(like if it was in USB Debug mode).
I Hope someone can help me
Restart your computer>>>Go to task manager and close all Kies applications (I usually have 2 Kies running from startup)>>>Start Odin and select all the files>>>Put your phone into download mode and connect>>>It should be detected now.
If it is still not detected, close odin, disconnect phone. Start Kies go to tools and install drivers. Once this is complete. Close Kies and start from the top of this post...restart...
Solution Is HEIMDALL.....
Here Comes your solution:
You can easily back your phone with Heimdall.
It's a flashtool which is more complicated than ODIN.
If interesting,simply PM me and we will do it.
I'm Here...
Well,first go to here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755265
Second: Download 7-zip PC software & extract your official md5 firmware to obtain several other files.
Third:Search the web for a Heimdall How-To(if you didn't find,I'll provide You links)
Last:You'll flash the firmware via Heimdall & again your peace of mind will be back.
Try to reflash your phone normaly with another Rom, it should work
sorry but i tried all the ways, Odin and Heimdall.
I tried Odin on Windows and Heimdall on MacOSX but always they say
I'm sure that phone is in download mode
May i install drivers on OSX with Heimdall?
Rooted my GT-I9000, and now it has crashed!
First off all my Galaxy I9000 was trying to software update via Kies, and it failed. The it would not start, but i managde to root it with a stock "VOD" rom.. But after a while i wantet to root it back to "Nordic Version"... But i could not do this, because the 3 button combo dont work on my Galaxy I9000 anymore.. :/ So there for i baought a USB JTAG, that puts it into download mode. So far, So good But when it is finished rooting, it fails to mount/unmount a bunch of stuff.. I have a picture of the screen, so that you guys can se what the problem is. Please help me out with this..
Getting Hopeless...?
1)For you to become sure,my Galaxy S Aka I9000 was exactly the same as yours and right now there is nothing wrong with that of course after flashing by HEIMDALL.
2)Remember,if your are going to do anything,Your first and your last key,is your HOPE so be so hopeful and let's start to get over this.
3)Download I9000 USB driver from here and simply install it on WINDOWS OS.
http://hotfile.com/dl/48893334/93383a1/I9000_USB_driver.rar.html
4)Before Using Heimdall, Enter it's folder and you'll see another sub folder called driver and you'll see just ONE executable program,run it and follow these instructions:
(I'll Shortly Provide You A How-to)
5)Enter Heimdall and follow these instructions:
Recovery and Kies
I have rooted Galaxy Gear with TWRP recovery and stock rom V700XXUAMII. Can I update my system to Tizen OS via Kies 2.6 ? Recovery and root doesn't bother Kies ?
Yes you can depending on your region. You'll have to put the gear into download mode and select firmware upgrade in kies. Type in the model number in all caps. Then serial number.
If you're in an unsupported country it will say it's unsupported. If that happens you'll have to use Odin and flash the Tizen firmware ending with NE9 first. Then you can flash the latest update.
Let me know if kies fails. I'll walk you thru Odin if it does.
Please help
Hi I am from South Africa , Tizen rolled out yesterday for the gear in my country but I am unable to update because when I plug in my gear it doesn't show up in kies but my note3 does , any help u can offer will b much appreciated I am fairly new to this stuff only have android for a few months , I always used apple which wen I pug my phone or any other device in it showed up immediately, I've even uninstalled kies and reinstalled really frustrating business this, please any help will b appreciated , thanks in advance
When kies isn't recognizing your device, you can use odin. Odin is a separate pc based software which can flash firmware to your gear.If your gear is currently running android software and you want to upgrade to tizen, you must first flash a tizen release ending with NE9. NE9 firmware has files to get you off of android and onto tizen. Once your on Tizen you can flash a newer release like the ones ending with NF1.
In order to flash Tizen,
Download*Odin v3.09
https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Put gear into download mode. (Hold power button until you see it say rebooting, then tap 5 times.)
Connect to PC with usb dock.
Wait until you get a blue sign in odin. (re-download samsung drivers if no blue sign appears)
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA (firmware files below)
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
Reboot and you'll be stock Tizen, first release. In order to upgrade Tizen you can flash the newest firmware the same way.
NE9 Tizen firmware for United kingdom
http://www.mediafire.com/?c6qzuvuksuxcega
The latest Tizen release is NF1
NF1 Tizen firmware for United kingdom.
Please help!
Can u please walk me through Odin as I do not have my own computer and I'm using somebody else's laptop , should I uninstall kies 3and download Odin?, after I remove android where do I get tizen so from?, I am still new to flashing and I'm afraid that if I remove android from my gear I will have a gear without an OS please advise I am fairly new to this
No need to remove kies. Download the Odin file from link above. Also download the Tizen NE9 file.
Unzip the Odin folder. Open the file marked Odin and a program will start.
Put watch in download mode and plug into PC.
Odin should show connected.
In Odin click on "ap" and navigate to the NE9 file.
Click start button.
Wait a few minutes, it should restart.
Enjoy Tizen!
Repeat process with update from link above.
Still battling
Hi there again sorry for the inconvenience if u remember I was trying to upgrade my gear to tizen , I jus wanna know why my gear will not show up on my computer or kies or odin I have restored it 3 times and still nothing I can't seem to find the drivers for Utah I'm using windows 8, will my gear show up if I don't have the drivers and if not please can I have a link for the drivers so that I can try again , I am really distressed please help
Help required: Galaxy Tab
I've been searching XDA & Google for about 1 month but can't find a solution. I don't know why everywhere in some threads whenever somebody asks the same problem there's no reply to that question. So I decided to post this question here to try my luck...
Problem & History:
When I set my tab to connect to Kies or Media it shows that it's connected but PC doesn't detect it. Please help...
Thanks for your reply but I have already gone through this post but as I mentioned problem is that PC doesn't detects it even when I put the Tab in DL mode. Is there any method to root it? So that I could use Mobile Odin to restock it.
It is an usb-driver problem and not rooting, I'm 99% sure of it. It's the PC that HAS to find the Tab first.
Hmmmm
I've tried on another PC and with another USB cable but in vain. Other Smartphones connect it without any problem.
Any smartphone or the P1000 are not the same. I have had on multiple occasions that even Samsung Kies did not recognise it and had to reinstall Kies. Same for the Samsung Mobile phones drivers. And don't forget to reboot your PC after installing drivers.
Keep on trying because it is still going into download mode and logic tells it should be accessible. Does the PC give a notification like driver not found or similar?
NO.
No. There's no activity in PC when I connect it. It neither shows new hardware found nor any other notification like unrecognized device etc.
BTW I have reinstalled Kies, updated it, uninstalled it, installed separate drivers for Samsung USB but no gain...
One last option, let the battery become completely empty (0% charge). Recharge and try again, it rescued my tab once after a bad flash.
That is to my knowledge the last resort.
Alas!
What version of windows are you on? Because windows 8 is a *****, Vista or 7 should work.
(Or GNU-Linux). And have you tried Heimdall already? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1323527
Heimdall download https://code.google.com/p/heimdall-one-click/downloads/list
Get a stock ROM and how to use Heimdall (these are old instructions so there could be newer versions available).
-----------Heimdall install instructions ------------------
1. Download Heimdall.
2. Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) and install it. Download it here List All Devices.
5. From the USB Device list chose "Samsung USB Composite DEvice".
6. Press "Install Driver", click "Yes" to the prompt and if you receive
a message about being unable to verify the publisher of the driver
click "Install this driver software anyway".
7. Done. This only needs to be done once.
-----------How to use Heimdall-------------------------
1. Put your tab into download mode - Power off Tab, once powered down hold power and the volume down button at the same time. You will see a android digging.
2. Start Heimdall
3. Hook your tab up to your PC or MAC and you will see a progress bar. That must say Ready to get heimdall to work.
4. Find you Firmware and unzip it until you see the following files below.
(NOTE: when you first unzip your firmware it may unzip into a .tar file unzip the .tar file to get the files below.)
a. Zimage
b. FactoryFS.rfs
c. Param.lfs
d. Boot.bin
e. SBL.bin - not always included
f. cacher.rfs
g. dbdata
h. modem.bin - not always included
5. Place each of those files in their correct spot and hit start.
ONE BIG NOTE: if you use a PIT file do NOT select repartition. It might brick your tab as heimdall has a problem when selecting repartition w/ a pit file. It is ok to use the pit file just make sure repartition is unchecked.
(Use ODIN for repartition with pit)
Got it working...
Thanks buddy, I bought a half dozen of USB cables for the tab and got it working with one of them at last... I don't know but I thought it was the last way out to try different cables... And at last, I got it working after long...
Please let me know the correct way of rooting, as DoomLord v. 4 has already failed to root it. Please guide if possible... I have a Ragers (Canada) Tab. GT-P1000R
