Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone can link me to the most updated guide for installing twrp on my LG G2. I just got my phone back from RMA (Dead lines on the screen) and it came preloaded with Kitkat. It seems most of the guides there are for jelly bean. I tried Flashify, but apparently I read that won't work for verizon G2.
Thanks in advance

There's autorec in the LG G2 forums, never used it, know nothing about it. Then there's Freedom Tool:

What I also recommend is once you flash the twrp go to the mahdi thread, and download the moddified version of twrp made my @dr87. this will help with heat. It can be flashed using twrp.
I have always used Autorec with success on my VS989.

Does it do the extra steps required to flash a recovery on KK? It's not just a matter of flashing the recovery image.

That's what I'm asking, there's more to installing a recovery on 4.4.2 on the G2 besides just flashing recovery.
Autorec does steps 5-8 listed in this thread at a push of a button.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702958
Does Freegee do the same? I see people complaining it doesn't work with KK on the G2 on it's play store comments.

i'm better with it now. the screen took some getting used to. going to sell my S4. i'm done with lock-tight bootloaders. really getting used to the device. it carries its weight. i'm on faux's kernel and the cataclysm rom. cant say anything but good stuff about both and how well the device is performing on them. thats my 2 cents. in case you hadnt heard, when you're in twrp and you wipe (full, partial, etc), reboot recovery and then flash. users have problems getting zips to install without the reboot between wiping and flashing. its a recovery bug atm. cheers

The prooblem I found is this command (obviously, it's the only one xD):
package_extract_file("openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-hammerhead.img", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p7");
The "/dev/block/mmcblk0p7" is for pad, the recovery is in "/dev/block/mmcblk0p20". Also you can use "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery" that is easier to understand.
So the command fixed should be:
package_extract_file("openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-hammerhead.img", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery");
I will test it and tell if that solves the problem
TWRP 2.6.3.2 zip fixed!
OK, everything working now.
Fixed zip uploaded to: http://d-h.st/Qen
I'm sure people will be happy to flash it easier than before just from your phone without any needed app

Seems to be an overall issue with TWRP 2.6.3.1, and while I don't know if the issue is resolved in 2.6.3.2, I can tell you that it doesnt have the problem in 2.6.3.0, as I've been kicking myself for a while now fighting with .1 to work. I took WugFresh's toolkit, downloaded the 2.6.3.0 .img, changed in my settings of the toolkit to use custom recovery (the .0 version), flashed it (which also re-roots your device, needed or not), and then everything was fixed... That's the route that I took, as even on .1, the rebooting between wipe and flash didnt even work for me... MIght save some people some headaches 'til we can verify .2 fixes the issue.
Using this method you can manually update your phone and it downloads the 24A KDZ to your PC. The KDZ stacks up to 2gb. I haven't completed the install yet (using hotspot to download KDZ on laptop), but I would assume this does a complete factory reset. Will update when I have completed it.

While there is a good chance it will still work. It might not. But if it didn't root would be obtained soon most likely. The bigger worry is the boot loader. No custom recovery potentially. If last minute stuff was added etc... Might be fine. But I wouldn't take a chance on locking my device til I was sure. S4 been locked since July. Many a tear over there for taking ota.

Good to know. I went ahead and restored to 10B via TOT method (I had the intial hacked 24B without the kernel and what not). Performed the update via KDZ per Droid Life article and lost root. Re-rooted via IORoot25 and all is up and running. I'm content with Google Experience Launcher and Hotspot hack. Might try and flash TWRP via the previous 24A methods.

I could sure use some help in this one. Not exactly sure what to do. My phone was running Android 4.2.2 rooted with TWRP (2.6.3.3). I saw that the OTA update for Android 4.4.2 was available so I went ahead and downloaded it. Once I tried to install it it rebooted into recovery. I tried rebooting the system, but it takes me back to recovery. It won't do anything else. I tried getting into download mode, but it won't do it either. Someone mentioned that it may be wiped, but the memory on the phone still shows all the files in there. Not sure what went wrong. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks.
Just flash back to an old nandroid for now. You might have to be unrooted or use voodoo root keeper while you update. Idk tho I am just reading up on it now. Were you just rooted on a stock ROM? Or using xposed?

OK so I made a flashable signed / bumped twrp.zip for any reason you may need it. I know I have played around and tested some ROMs and mods out on twrp and may not have worked so for the hell of it I would jump over to cwm and test there as well. May or may not have worked out but the issue is that I would forget to make a backup in CWM. I always have a recent backup in TWRP and I guess that's why I forget to make one in CWM. Just used to not worrying about it since its already been done. Then when its time to restore cuz the ROM you flashed DID cause WWIII just like the dev said he would not be responsible for, and you realize "$#!+ I didn't make a backup in CWM, I made one in TWRP like Playfulgod said to do but not in CWM".
So what can you do ? Well you can have a flashable ROM on your sdcard always and eat up 1.5 gigs or more. Or you can store my flashable twrp.zip on your sdcard.
Here ya go. I've tested it out already and seems to work fine.
I'm not responsible for your own flashing of your device. Do so at your own risk.
These statements have not been evaluated by XDA nor do they claim to cure any bricked devices or protect you from any diseases / viruses.

This do for all gflex models?
I'm not sure about that. Let me find out.
Should be just like before. Its the same twrp just bumped. But its been verified on the D950,D951,D959 for sure. So I would imagine. If its not it will just error during flashing and then reboot to OS and install playfuls apk
Works like a charm, thanks for sharing Matt.
