Flame suits on - Verizon LG G2

I'm tired and don't know how I would effectively search for this.
I am going to sell my current phone and pick this one up again.
With the recent software update I want to know if there is any software version that can't have custom recovery installed.
thanks in advance.

Theoretically, 24a doesn't support a custom recovery, but there is a method to make it happen. 24a had also been rooted, so you should be good to go.
Thanks Devs, from my LG G2

So with 24a I imagine downgrade install recovery upgrade?
Thanks brah

As Noteboy states: There isnt going to be an official update from samsung.
The only way to get the KitKat experience is if you flash an AOSP-based ROM.
Unless somebody develops a kitkat based touchwiz rom; which might never happen.
Unfortunately never.

But isnt it against Kitkat's approach in the first place?
Wasn't kitkat for the old phones as well?
And today I held another phone in my hands for almost like 5 hours or something, after that my note felt like godlike phone.
Note is still good.
Maybe doesn't need kitkat at all but idea to make old phones work more efficient sucks then.

If note 1 is ever getting a update, it's after 2014 April. Custom ROMs are always better, without bloatware and Knox and stuff. TouchWiz free!

Unfortunately Samsung has stopped development for the Galaxy Note. JB 4.1 is as good as it gets.

Downgrading your security version will brick your device, so I wouldent suggest it.
However, you can use AOSP 4.1.2 with it.

Then just don't flash the security component. Just do System and I think boot? I'd have to check mine, but I went from 4.4.2 to 4.1.2 and back to 4.4.2 again. It can be done if you are careful

If you update everything to 4.2.2, unlock, then flash your modem, kernel and system to 4.1.2 you might have success.

The XT907 is surprisingly capable for its age.
Hoping that Verizon launches an LTE variant of the Moto G. It's a worthy successor to the RAZR M.
was this thread really necessary? the page u linked to links to a thread on xda in the razr m general section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783912
Unlocked it the first chance I got but for some reason the custom recovery won't work. However, if you guys got it working on your phones, mind if you can toss me the rope, so I can fix it.

twrp lg g2 verizon

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone can link me to the most updated guide for installing twrp on my LG G2. I just got my phone back from RMA (Dead lines on the screen) and it came preloaded with Kitkat. It seems most of the guides there are for jelly bean. I tried Flashify, but apparently I read that won't work for verizon G2.
Thanks in advance

What I also recommend is once you flash the twrp go to the mahdi thread, and download the moddified version of twrp made my @dr87. this will help with heat. It can be flashed using twrp.
I have always used Autorec with success on my VS989.

Does it do the extra steps required to flash a recovery on KK? It's not just a matter of flashing the recovery image.

That's what I'm asking, there's more to installing a recovery on 4.4.2 on the G2 besides just flashing recovery.
Autorec does steps 5-8 listed in this thread at a push of a button.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702958
Does Freegee do the same? I see people complaining it doesn't work with KK on the G2 on it's play store comments.

great choice, cloudyfa is a very great developer. i just wish he had a flex so we would be moving in some sort of direction.
@Cloudyfa he does some great work for the g2 i was using his cloudy g3 port on my g2. but our device doesnt have that much a difference flex we would just need people to test lets hope he has the time to spare to even work our device
It would be great to get the port for this phone because there is almost no development for it. This must be the slowest development out of all the phones I've had.

Developement is slow, because, Lg has locked down our devices and just recently we've finally gotten TWRP with much thanks to those bump guys. We have all been in your shoes complaining of no developement, but, have all settled down, because, we only have a couple devs, such as playfulgod and mattwheat. We do not have much people working on our device so its going to be a while before anything stable is released.
What i do is, root, install TWRP, grab a few things,.zip files from the g2 or g3 forums i find attractive and flash it. Install xposed and tweak my system a bit. After all a custom rom is just tweaked a bit with visuals.
If you are too lazy, learn developement and contribute to this community.

Well first we need to push development on our kernel whats the point of adding this patch if we can't get our kernel to work properly. Also it won't be a bad idea to have some g2 devs helps us out with the kernel; but yet again they(g2 devs) still use loki instead of bump so if they decide to jump on the bump wagon we would benefit alot. Nice find doe.

If you truly need help, you should expand on your problem. From your first post its hard to pinpoint what your problem is or what your trying to accomplish.
To my knowledge there is NO lollipop/marshmallow Roms or development for the flex.
If your trying to install cyanogen apps, tell us which ones , and where you pulled these apps from.
