Hi there, i got a real bad problem.
A friend of mine asks me to unlock his sisters Transformer TF701. He wants me to do so cause she died 2 weeks ago, and her family wants to get the pictures and documents from the tab. (she starts writing a story for her 2 childs)
The problem is, the Tab isn't connected to her google account, adb is disabled, it's locked und not rooted.
I got no idea how to get on the files.
Does anyone have any idea what i can do to help them?
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I bought my second Nexus 7 towards the end of November, and lost it a week later.
Id installed several apps (inc Cerberus) but not got round to configuring them (inc Cerberus).
Immediately after losing it, I changed my gmail email password, so they didnt have access.
That tablet is still listed in Google play => Settings => My Devices, and the Carrier Last Used tab has todays date.
Does that mean that its been updated?
If so, how is it still able to access my account if I've changed my password?
Are there any security issues I should be aware of?
Thanks
If you know you won't be able to recover the lost tablet. Contact Google about the lost nexus 7. If anything they should be able to block the device from accessing Google play.

I contacted Google about disabling a stolen Nexus 7 over a week ago, a no response from them whatsoever, doesn't fit in with their script.
Hi Don. Sorry to hear about your lost tablet. Although we can't block the device, I would recommend contacting Asus customer support in your region to report the tablet stolen. Doing so will prevent whoever is using it to from submitting troubleshooting tickets and sending it in for repairs. I believe each region keeps a database of stolen items, so definitely let yours know.

Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb&hl=en. Since you have already changed your password you may need to change it back for the tabled to properly receiver the pushed app. In theory if it installs it should give you the IP address of the theif who is using the device. Good luck
Sorry ignore this post. This only works on gingerbread devices :-\ sorry man.

Hi all,
I'm a complete noob from blackberry.
Got a i9305 last nite, before I left the store it was tested and all and all looked good. Came home and charged the phone and now it won't detect my sim card. Took it back to the store and they won't honor the warranty because they said the phone was jailbreaked. All i did was used the wifi to download some legit apps and plugged it into my mac air to do some file transfer using 'Android Transfer'. The phone cannot even detect IMEI.
I didn't do any jailbreak activities on the phone (at least to my knowledge), so i have no idea why the phone is like this.
Q:
what happened?
What to do now?
What to do to avoid similiar incidents? (Should I backup my 'OS' ? how? -0 knowledge with Android)
Appreciate all your advise.
If you didn't do anything to your phone. Go to setting and in back and reset, restore it to factory which will erase all that was installed.
We don't jailbreak our devices only root and flash custom roms
Or they sold you a bad device and aren't helping you.

Sounds to me like you were sold a bad device. Unless you're omitting something, but you have no reason to do that on the internet so I reckon you were sold a bad device.

No IMEI you have either been sold a damaged phone or you have flashed stuff on it .
Highly unlikely for a hardware failure a few hours after phone is tested . Why test is it a refurb / used item ???
Return the item to the vendor and ask what has broken the warranty and to show you proof of such .
No / wrong IMEI phone will not work as a phone .
Whyare you are asking to backup a phone in other posts that is faulty ???

When I first got my phone and wanted to set in the sim it didnt go well cuz I didnt push it till it clicked. So just to be sure, look if you've put it right.

Maybe you want to verify with the store what they mean by jailbreak? Sim unlocked? Rooted?
Was it a store selling 2nd hand phones? If so, it's quite hard to have any form of warranty. I'm sure there are ways about this once the experts in this forum know more about the nature of your problem.
It's quite hard for them to look into this post though, cos the title doesn't seem to help describe the nature of your problem. You could have used a title like "no IMEI detected" or something like that.

Hi guys,
Who here had the problem with the tablet not being able to unlock? I get the vague message about my internet connection but that is not the problem. This tablet has had a board-swap so that could be the problem?
I tried to use the device-tracker and that wouldn't work either.
I've contacted asus a month ago and every now or than I get a email that it should work but obviously it doesn't
Can people who had the same problem share their solution? Or is there another way to unlock the tablet yet?
Thanks.
I had this message. I kept trying till it worked. Also make sure you dont have 2 step verification enabled.
What do you mean with 2 step verification? I've been trying daily for the past two weeks but no luck...

He means the Google 2 step verification.
But your problem is the board swap. Now the Mac address or serial number does not match what they have in their database. You have to persistent. Take a Screenshot of your About Tablet page and attach it to each email you send them. Do not mention that you want to unlock. Say device tracker doesn't work.
Send them an email every day for a week. Send them two mails every day the following week....All it takes is for someone to bother contacting HQ in Taiwan and change the entry for your tablet in their database.
And keep trying the Unlock Tool. Sometimes HQ doesn't even report back to customer service it seems... Big corporation - bad communication ....

Thanks for your helpful post. I told them that the device tracker isn't working and the unlocktool isn't also. I gave them the info about the mac and device id and they made the correct database change now. So now it works.
I have one question left. What do they need my google account for?
Thanks

Wow! That was painless! It took weeks and months for others to get that adjusted!
No idea about the Google account - it's probably just a way to verify who it is who's unlocking the tablet. Once you enter your Google password it would be hard to argue that your 5-year old accidentally unlocked the tablet and you want it reversed

Hi, my father purchased a galaxy gs5 from a coworker and I have gone through a lot of bypass factory reset videos from YouTube and it still does not let me reset the device, as the person who he bought it from did not remember the email and password they used when they set it up.
I've used PNY flash drive, uploaded the file to let me get to the setting, then followe'd everything to the T. When I get to the final Reset Device button, i click it and NOTHING. Step dad keeps asking if I got his phone working yet. Still waiting on help from the World. He does not have a Smartphone. He has an old Blackberry, and wants to be able to join our world.
Please help.
Hello everyone, my father recently passed away. We have a family-run business and all the important contacts and information about our deals and orders we made are on his phone. Aside from that, there are also precious pictures on his phone that we would like to retrieve. Does anybody know a way we can unlock his phone? We have tried almost every method such as android device manager, Samsung find my mobile, and even contacted Verizon. He had given me his passcode a couple years ago but has changed it since then. I've tried other possible passwords and I'm down to my last couple attempts before the device resets to factory settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my mother and I just want the memories on the phone and the contacts to keep our business running so we can follow through with our orders. I would hate for everything to be deleted forever.
