I've try every superfixed Rom, django 1.6.5 and others, with any kernel available but the phone make me always nervous, some time seems fast sice i find myself stuck on a white screen ora an empty home launcher.
The lag switching from 2 application was the worst thing, sice i have activated the anr messages to close unresponding apps. Too many time opening an application result in a lot of anr messages.
I've try carburano script in every combination, but where some things goes better, others goes worst.
I've too many apps installed?
I've wiped the phone so many times that i don't remember the last one.
I start always from a fresh installation.
Last one is django 1.6.5 with kowalski kernel 2.6.39.4, but seems less responding that KoB adios 0.7 with scripts.
Maybe i just need to change phone, this is "too old".
:crying:
Maybe but my phone works very well
I have Temasek 2.3.7 and his kernel and it work like a charm
You sound like a selfish brat, you know. No offense, but do you know how it is handling a low-end single-core device? Like the LG Optimus L3? Or even better, a single-core Armv6 device, like the LG Optimus One or GT540. You are also just spitting all over the hard work of amazing developers, calling their work bad. If you have money to buy yourself a brand new phone, go ahead, but don't neglect the work that has been done on this, actually, powerful device. I, myself, use my LG O2x with these settings and you can't imagine how satisfied I am, so try for yourself. If it stil "lagggggz", then either quit whining or buy yourself another phone:
LG Optimus 2x P990
New Bootloader
Paranoid Android 4.1.2 by TonyP
Kowalski Kernel M1, 32MB Ramhack by Pengus77
LG ICS/JB Camera For CM10 - test1 by feav
Disabled and removed some system apps (HWA app, Google Talk, PDroid, Apollo)
Installed some apps as system apps to increase stability (Nova Launcher 3.0.2 and Google Play Music)
In kowalski manager switch on the first three settings, set SD Read speed to 512 and enable Auto Hotplug
Use alternatives to favourite apps (Facebook -> Friendcaster, Twitter -> Falcon Pro)
Use Greenify and disable all apps you don't need running in the background (I only leave Viber on, the rest -> Hibernate)
Don't overload the phone, be smart. I have just a couple of apps installed and it works flawlessly.:good:

Dear NoDze, thankyou for your helpful answare because that's the point of this phone, without the hard work of developers of this fourm is totally useless.
By the way, in my post i'm not "spitting all over" for sure, i'm just saying, the phone doesn't work sorry. If any developer read something disgraceful about their job i am sorry, this was not my intention.
Remains the fact that i can't answare the phone if i'm using some applications, like waze, and with some kernels, application's listing like twitter or facebook are really slowly and jumpy, with some other not, but they have other problems.
..so maybe NoDze i need a new phone because i'm a selfish brat and, maybe, you are just a nerd, that likes to spent life's hours on an old phone that can't handle more that 2 applicaions, no offense.
p.s. i will try your configuration as well as other users in the past suggest to me. tnx

Hahaha, yeah, I get that a lot. I like the term "geek" more. Nerds are more the star trek and klingon type. I like speed. That's why. I'm sorry if I sounded a bit harsh, had a bad week, so apologies to you. But, you get the point The phone is good, but not "power user" good. If we only had a dualcore snapdragon instead of the tegra, and at least 1Gig of RAM, this thread wouldn't even exist. So yeah. You can cheaply switch over to some rather stronger gadgets. Sell the Optimus by installing Kitkat on it (Kids love having the latest and greatest), put it on ebay, amazon or whatever your local online market is and get for a few bucks extra some better phones, like the old but gold Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, or even the Nexus 4, or maybe try dipping into the chinese market with Huawei. They make better phones with every new month. And dirt cheap at that. Maybe even android isn't your strong point. Windows Phone has improved drastically. Anyway, sorry once again and good luck with finding the right one for you.

So fennec went alpha this week and wanted to know if anyone tried it yet?I've tried to use it but it keeps crashing, has anyone had this issue?
As much as I like firefox, I'll not get this until they trim this chubby app down some. 31mb?
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got me some hot froyo on hero action here!
couldnt get this app to work either and the size is crazy if u want a different browser try OPERA thats pretty good if ur looking for some fast net or just wait for a better realese
WOW mY English is Atrocious
Yea I like opera but don't like that you can't really download stuff from it. But yea wanted to try out fennec to see how it runs but it's a no go so kinda disappointment.....eh
Actually, Fennec's quite a few good ideas, expecially for Firefox users. I mean, it can syncs your open tabs (the ones you left open at home before leaving!), bookmarks, search history and site access infos (so you won't type those old pass/user you can't even remember).
Moreover, you get plugins... not a big amount of them available, but this could just a matter of time if this catches up; and tab management is on par with Android browser's.
Main downside is related to page render speed and program open, they just fail before Android stock browser (which I think is quite awesome, I have to admit it, in terms of performances and compatibility).
Definitively still a "to keep an eye on" project, though.
just installed the app, but it wont even open
Junk
I find it unbelievable that this has even been considered for a release to anyone!
After several attempts to install, I finally got this bloated mess to work, slowly and with no features that haven't been done better elsewhere.
I was truely expecting more, Firefox and Thunderbird have become bad enough lately, with this rubbish Mozilla have scored 3 out of three.
Haven't tried this alpha yet, but I played around with an older Version. I also tried the WinMo version and I can tell you that Fennec on Android is much better than the WinMo version. On my HD2(running Froyo) it installed without problems and it didn't crash. But because the UI had no priority over the webpage rendering it wasn't really usable. But I think I read somewhere that in this alpha the UI has priority, so when I can I will give it a try again. But the only reason for using Fennec are the sync features.
You people should READ THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS before commenting on whether things are good or not. It CLEARLY states that MSM720xA based phones are NOT COMPATIBLE. Regarding the one who managed to partially get it working.... I don't believe you.
Specifically, the program is built for ARMv7 instruction set. YOUR PHONE SUPPORTS UP TO ARMv6 instruction set ONLY.
To put this very simply.... the program is NOT COMPATIBLE [yet].

There are nightly builds, which work on Armv6.
I have it running, on a HTC Magic.
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mobile/nightly/latest-mozilla-central-android-r7-nothumb/
The main deal breakers are that it takes forever to load and that the GUI doesn't scale and all the buttons are too big.
Finally:
Coming from my standpoint, that really didn't call for caps, as what you believed and clearly read into the announcement didn't eventuate anyway.
I am positively glad about that, I hope you are too xD. So far Armv6 isn't going to be left behind (all too far).

Hi,
Fennec seems to work on HD2 (an ARM 7 device).
Not sure I like the rendering of pages like xda-developers.com - but it works.
Seems like it has potential.

Definitely has a potencial, but it's too slow and so not usable for normal android experience...waiting for beta release
works on the vibrant but very very laggy. UI is ugly but simple to use.
Im on got 2.2 but this happened to me with 2.1 too, is really annoying, multitasking is not executed well, my programs keep closing :/ 70-80% of the times i press the home button while im playing music+using the browser+using trillian or behive launcher pro loads the whole homescreen and widgets :/ , if switch to the browser, it reloads the websites or loads the homepage , am i doing something wrong?
i tought 256 mb wasnt that horrible for a smartphone
i blame android.
i was ok with my phone til the last week. i got an ipod touch 4g. 256mb only on that one and people complained it was a neutered iphone but damn it smokes my milestone in day to day tasks. granted it can't make a call, but im pretty pissed that android still lacks the optimization we need.

is there any method to optimize the ram usage of android. i thought that a milestone is better then iphone, i still think it is,but if the android system dont get better, iphone will smoke all of us in the pipe.
the first thing i noticed when i holded my milestone in my hands was, damn is it fast and brilliant, better then the iphone, the same day i started modding and overclocking and things like that. i gave him a little too much vsel, .... and since then i think it has gotten slower :/ , maybe some of you had the same expirience
Guys, please consider the fact, that google has to optimize their OS for different smartphone setups from different manufacturers ... the iOS featured in the iPhone and iPod Touch has been completely optimized on their hardware, since iOS isnt featured outside the apple family of handhelds. Because of this, the optimisation and integration is WAY more comfortable, Google has a ****load of work to do to consider the many different phones besides their nexus one.
give it time guys. MIUI handles the memory management already pretty good, runs way more responsive that stock android.
It's problem of the apps and widget you are using, download a app call system pannel, you will find out many apps and widget take up so many ram.
and 2.2 got leak have a problem which make the launcher redraw so often.
for launcher pro, there is an options to keep it in memory.

homescreen cache type: normal compressed,light

piss poor excuse. there's not much rocket science going into optimizing a homescreen smoothness.
The A4 chip the iPhone 4 uses is more similar to a Samsung Hummingbird.
The OMAP chip the 3GS uses is similar to the one we have in the Droid/Milestone.
The old ARM11 chips in the 2G/3G/iPod Touch 1g/2G/3g 8gb is different too.
The fact is Apple has accounted for 3 types of CPUs and while they are all ARM architecture, it's similar to the fact we have Qualcomm, TI, and Samsung CPUs floating around. Even Google's own Nexus One is piss poor smooth on the homescreen.
Granted here at XDA we've already ROMed the hell out of our phones, but the fact that I'm still ashamed when I whip out my Milestone just to show my friends Facebook, and they ALWAYS comment on how choppy it is despite my 1100mhz overclock or whatever. I'll even reboot just before hanging out with them just in case I need to do some stuff. Android is just too freaking slow.
i am using cronos froyo 1.5 and i must say i am suprised, it is a good rom, fast and stabil, and trust me i testes many roms, maybe all?
so is there a way of modifing a rom (maybe cronos) to get rid of all the services that are not needed for a normal user? maybe it would be more ram available this way... aint it?
I think that 256 mb ram are enough. Try eclair mod v0.3b. It is very fast and i get about 110mb free ram. I use Advanced task killer and Estrong task manager. I have them both on my homescreen and when i tap them both I get 110mb ram free.
ram
the task killer is an option i dont want to use, because android should manage that him self, but maybe tere are some services that are not needed, so we can delete them, and make a slim rom. do someone know what services are not needed, and how we can wipe them?

On milestone? Don't believe it. Pleas post some screenshots so I can be amazed
As Milestone has really terrible hardware spec (cpu, ram, flash) I am still hoping someone would start to build ultra-lite version of the android without any non-essential services running, applications on flash, launchers, wallpapers, etc.
Regarding the multitasking - yes when I try to open second app I am holding my breath whether the first one will get killed or will survive
IMO it was depend on which rom u were used.
Try live home for launcher its pretty fast and handles multitasking
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
Do you use any weather and clock widgets-if yes there is a option called refresh when home is pressed you disable it and your screen would come alive much faster.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA App
I have never be success on milestone, always restarting
I would say it probably more have to do with Motorola for not taking the effort to optimize Android's software for the Milestone, my friend X8 is smoother than mine despite having only 168MB(!) of RAM and he used live wallpapers too. 2.2 also for some reason seems to be very sluggish as compared to 2.1/2.3
Anyway I also believe that because of our higher resolution screen (854 x 480), more RAM is needed as more resource is needed for greater resolution and phones usually reserved more RAM (slightly) for connectivity purposes (cell tower) which lead to a "shortage" of free RAM on our milestone.
Though no doubt, I would say iOS have a slightly better memory management than Android but Android is not that bad given that the Nexus One prior to 2.2/2.3, the amount of RAM available for them is 40mb less than Milestone due to a bug but it still flies. Shows alot that effort to optimize by the OEMs matter more rather than Android itself.
Hi,
I recently got this phone and upgraded it to android 2.3 (V20N), but with both FroYo and Gingerbread, the phone seems to be a bit slow. Opening application list, opening apps, or even just switching desktop screens is not as smooth as i would expect it to be. Everything has a little bit of lag to it, and and switching desktop screen is a little bit choppy, not perfectly smooth...
My brother has very cheap Samsung Galaxy Mini, and every single action on his phone is a lot more fluid, responds instantly with no lag, and animations are perfectly smooth.
I think LG messed up when customizing Android for this phone. My question is... is there any way to make OS run as fast as on Samsung Galaxy Mini for example? Is there any stock android ROM available without any LG bloat added?
Thanks in advance.
It seem you have some app, which consumes your power. Try the app betterbatterystats here from the forum to identify this app. Normaly these kind of apps are realy strong battery eater.
The hotmail app is normaly a "hot" candidate of a trash app.
If you don't have success make a factory reset, of course make before a backup of your personal data.
And everytime you have the option to change to a cooked Rom like Zeuss by Huexxx. This Rom rocks!
No, i dont have any demanding apps running on background. I have battery stats app where i see that nothing consumes power, and also my battery usually lasts for over 4 days, so i dont think there is any problem with that.
The problem is that the system overall is not nearly as smooth and responsive as galaxy mini, which has a lot worse HW specs, yet it responds a lot quicker and all animation are a bit smoother. For example, in LG-edited android, pinch gesture on desktop causes very laggy animation. Widged browser by LG has very laggy scrolling and moving icons around desktop in edit mode is laggy too. Everything by LG is just laggy, and whole system doesnt respon indstantly, but with some delays.
It is not the smooth experience i want it to be.
I also want either clean Android rom, or original vendor ROM. I dont want any customized third party ROMs, for several reasons:
1, Zeus is overclocked. I hate that, it decreases hardware lifespan.
2, While ROM cooks are usually skilled editors and programmers, they are really bad designers, and usually design appearance of ROM to their own taste with no uniform aesthetics and design that would look professional. I want a professional visual design, and those unfortunately in most of the cases come only from the Google or vendors (HTC, samsung...) themselves.
3, ROM cooks usually include a lot of their bloatware. Vendors do too, i know, but in their case, those additions at least have some unified ideology.
4, Most of the custom ROMs are usually rooted. I simply don't want that.
Oh, and i forgot to add. I hate the performance of the stock ROM even right after factory reset. I did factory reset several times. But it doesn't solve speed issue by any means. The OS is just slower and laggier by its nature. The way LG altered it.
Zeus is overclock-able but by default runs on max 1000.
Give it a try. I try many rooms and always come back to it for the smooth running.
And yes LG have screwed big time the poor black on the software side.
First show this video of a stock v20, if your fone is a lot slower, give it back, to repair or to get one new or another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV_uYbs0PfE&list=UU7YbxG8ZoH2OBuLc-v-VTSQ&index=3&feature=plcp
It isn't your/our job to make it work.
Over cooked ROM Zeus, base on LG v20:
1. It isn't overlocked, but you can if you want.
2. It´s nice, but you have a lot of themses to select. Original LG, ICS...
3. It have no bloadware. It is realy clean and have a costumice tool. Everything can be modified to everyone needs.
4. Everyones onwn decision.
and it is a lot more fluid that the stock one.
Ok, gotta try zeus.

If you have a hardwareproblem I would'n root. Compare with above linked video. If yours is slower, give your phone back.
Well, unfortunatelly it seems that i order to instal Zeus ROM, i would need to root my phone, and i dont want to do that.
Also, yes... my phone runs exactly as fast as in the video above, but it is still not nearly as fast as Galaxy Mini.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVomy_hEjpM&feature=relmfu
This is video of Galaxy Mini, it responds a lot quicker, and also animations are a lot smoother than in case of P970. Especially the pinch animation on desktop for example
I don't see a difference between the Mini in the video to mine OB with Zeus. Consider that the OB has 5x more resolution than the mini.
What you can try is another launcher like Zeam Launcher, Launcher Pro or Go Launcher. All the three works more fluid than LGs one.
Regards.
Which one of the 3 would you recommend/consider fastest?

In order of appearance faster->slower, but also from some features to complex. Make a try they are simpel to install and to deinstall all 3 works good. I actually prefer 360 launcher due its features, but it isn't fast.
Ok, thank you very much. Launcher was indeed the problem. I tried all 3 and I am sticking with Launcher Pro as it seems to be fastest of the 3. My phone finally feels snappy. Thanks!
Hello all very long time lurker but am here now for some help. So a few questions and description of what i wish to achieve.
I have a POS iPod touch 4th gen that I have had 2 and half years or something and really want to replace. Also have an Xperia X10 and shortly will have an LG Optimus 2X. The X10 will function for phone duties until the Xperia TX become available in Australia.
Back the the O2X though. Now turning an android phone into a Portable Media Player (PMP) is something I have been wanting to do for a while now. Naturally though this brings up a few things that will not be needed.
For the music front end I will be using Player Pro and Pics and videos will primarily be held and viewed in QuickPic.
The phone will still need to retain wifi and bluetooth capabilities, however I want to fully disable all other forms of connectivity as I will have no need of it and will not be using a sim in the phone as this will be dedicated to music, movies and pics. So does anyone know the best way gor me to go about that?
I will also have a hell of a lot of unused and unwanted apps. I would love to be able to really strip the phone back and free up as much space as possible. Now in the past I have been able to uninstall pre-installed apps from my X10. I am just unsure how to go about it on the O2X. Does anyone know how I would go about completely removing the phone, contacts, calander, stock music, stock gallery and other assorted apps?
I would also need to be using a kernel with the voodoo sound mods for the wolfson DAC. Now I was wondering if there was any recommendations there?
Finally I would also like a recommendation of the most stable ICS based ROM to go with the voodoo kernel. I would like the ROM to also include a modifiable set of notification bar widgets so I can easily turn on and of things like wifi, bluetooth, gps, airaplane mode and adjust brightness. Anyone know of anything that would fit the bill?
Must also come with a working camera app (does not need to has video recording working or panorama just basic camera duties please). Any other suggestions that you may think of feel free to post them.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope some of you can help me out here on my project to make an Android PMP out of a great little Android Phone.
Stoner
Note to mods: hope I am posting in the right section, feel free to move it if I am not.
Since connectivity is already built in into the android OS, you can't disable it, but I think keeping your phone in airplane mode all the time should do the trick. Anyway, taking out the sim card already disables all connectivity that involves telecommunications.
If you want to remove system apps, you have to root your phone first. The forum already has so many guides on rooting. Then all you have to do is use any root file manager, go into system/app and delete the apps there. Not everything can be deleted though, some are crucial for the functioning of the phone.
The other way is to download a rom, open the zip and delete everything you don't need that's under system/app and install it. No guarantees that your phone will boot up though, if you happen to hit an app that is crucial for the rom to work. Then you can flash the rom and it's done.
There are many kernels that use voodoo, just find one that fits any rom of your choice.
Finally: ICS roms still have some bugs, seeing that you are going to use it as a PMP, I recommend not upgrading to ICS or later until roms made from LG's sources start popping out. I hear that CM10 (that runs on jellybean) will be released shortly after LG releases their ICS update.
Almost all roms have a camera app, no worries there!
TL;DR Install any rom you'd like that seems to fit the bill. Root your phone, open the particular rom's zip file and remove apps you don't need that are in system/app, flash it to your phone (with recovery mode of course). Flash kernel to your liking.
Looks like LG is no better than Sony when it comes to OS Updates haha
shall look at stock based Rome for now then. Try and find a JB skinned one if possible.
Then play trial and error with what apps I can remove before flashing and which I have to leave and possibly just freeze. New it was something simple but its been a while. I hope I can remove all the basic apps that make it function like a phone otherwise I guess I will make do with freezing and hiding them. Love removing all clutter possible.
Will be waiting to see if CM10 can come along much less buggy than all the CM9 and ICS ROMs that I have looked at. Silly LG hampering the development of ROMs because there isn't an official ICS update to work off and its late 2012 already. Hoping for some good news though with what I have read about SK and them getting ICS.
For the past few weeks there has been some blog posts, user complaints, and activity on various forums about the new Moto G 2014 having trouble with ram and keeping apps open (multitasking). I understand Android is intended through its design to close active apps when RAM memory runs low, however an increasing number of users are saying even basic multitasks (say using Chrome to browse the internet while trying to stream music from Google Play forces crashes or apps to close). The most activity I've found and participated in is on the Motorola Ower's forum.
Can anyone with a new Motorola G 2014 please comment if you are having this problem or not? And if so, please support the effort to get it resolved by contacting Motorola to ask for a remedy.
The defect exists for me. Every time I switch betweens apps, no matter which, the app restarts.
It is really annoying, especially since I had no problems with my old HTC One X (1GB RAM) and a Moto E (1GB RAM) I had for a while, and fewer problems with many of the 512MB RAM phones I tried.
Yes
Yes, the problem exists, and no real solution came. Thinking about sell it... maybe try a Zenfone?
Same with me. Gets very frustrating using the phone. The phone is perfect in every other regard, except multitaking.
Almost forgot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/design-defect-regarding-memory-t2953501
Don't get a huge amount of force closing of apps but when I do it's annoying, the screen redraw when going from an app back to launcher is really starting to grind on my nerves though, seems to be happening every time I head back to the launcher now, tried wiping the cache in the recovery, works for a while and then back to "Normal!".
Hoping that lollipop will sort it out but from what I've read so far it's not looking hopeful, plus the update seems to be on the back burner now for motorola, was talk of the moto g being the first to get 5.0 but now with LG G3 etc. all get the update looking like we've been forgotten.
Have been looking at other phones, as much as I like the moto g 2014 and the fact I use a sim for calls/texts and another for very cheap data, I may be heading back to a more premium single sim phone, have come from a Nexus 5 I find the moto g memory problem very annoying.
No force closing here, listening music with poweramp and surfing with Chrome at he same time is no problem.Till now I never realized an app to force close.
Ram usage is about 60%.
Ive noticed issues. All we need is a rom with init.d support so that we can set minfree settings at boot. I rooted my phone and ive adjusted minfree settings with romtoolbox, ive noticed a major difference.

Babe I'm gonna leave you
I said baby, you know I'm gonna leave you.... sold my Moto G2, tired of the annoying memory bug....
In the last fight against the evil MemBug, I got an almost good result:
No redraws
Background music ok
Better multitasking
But I had to disable all Motorola servies and apps, use Greenify donation and MinFreeManager (Agressive)....
Maybe it was solved, I dont know because I already sold and buy another, no time to find out.
Moto, utter disapoint.
Bye, bye, baby bye bye!
Yes, it exists and it is a very big problem as you can't even listen music while you are browsing internet because the music player gets killed within few seconds after putting it in the background.
Motorola needs to fix thus asap. Its really frustrating. Anyone found any possible solution? I used minfreemanager con aggresive. It helps a bit but it still kills the apps

If Motorola doesn't fix this the solution is a custom rom. Just wait until Lollypop and you will have millions of custom roms fixing this. Nowadays we don't have these custom roms because the cookers are waiting for Lollypop as it is not rewarding to build a rom based on Kit Kat with the new update around the corner.
Turns out i wasnt able to solve the issues i was having. I think its due to lollipop. After a while apps just start crashing and get progressively worse with multitasking. Ive noticed that its not actually changing the minfree values in lollipop. As time goes on the only way to fix my phone is to boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Otherwise it bootloops...
So im going to revert to 4.4.4 as soon as i can find a valid link to download it........

Yep, i know custom ROM's will fix this problem eventually. The thing is way too many people are afraid to start messing up with the phone because you can brick it. Personally, the first ROM i see for xt1063 i will flash it xD. But to all the people who don't know how to do it, they will have the problem forever, or until Motorola fixes it. I had a Huawei Ascend before this Moto G and with 30 mb free almost all the time it had better multitasking

Yes, I understand what you are saying but when you flash a Custom Recovery is literally impossible to brick your device. And you are right, I have a backup Huawei with 512 mb of RAM and it does not have this sort of problems. Same happens to my Nexus 7 with 1 GB of RAM memory.
EDIT:
We have some news from Motorola regarding this issue. Thanks to the reports done in this thread:

An Android blog posted this:

Well I decided to start using Nova Prime Launcher again since I own the full paid app, using the option for Aggressive Desktop the home screen redraw has stopped, press home button from any running app and it now goes straight to the launcher with absolutely no redraw, so at least that's one problem solved. Just as a test I briefly used the now launcher again and the redraw came back almost straight away.
Hello everyone, sorry for my english its not my native language.
I havr been having the same multi tasking problems, fed up about this trying all the solutions i have not been luck.
I decided to flash my phone with a custom rom and to disable lots of motorola services at boot and i cam say after 2 days of use my phone only kills old apps.it is working geat and fast, the only app that works little bad is skype
I installed andro x custom rom
Hope it helps
I don't have this problem so thought I would post some details about my set up and see if helps you. My phone is rooted, mainly so I can use apps like Xposed and Ti backup, and I'm using a custom pINKman kernel , though fairly sure it was fine on the stock kernel.
I have disabled all the apps I don't use, so maybe this is why I don't have the issue you have?
As a test I've been playing streaming music from BBC iPlayer radio in the background, browsing with Dolphin browser with 3 tabs open and switching between them (Google Chrome is disabled), looking through the gallery, reading email, sending sms, using BBC News app, opening Netflix, took a photo, took screenshots, opened the home screen several times and scrolled pages, (Nova launcher), no lag or redrawing. Streaming music continued playing without interruption, except momentarily when a got a new email notification which is how it should be. No apps FC and no noticeable problems.
I've uploaded screenshots of the frozen apps that I don't use or want running. Maybe this will help?
