[Q] Stock rom without AT&T bloat without root? - Motorola Atrix HD

Are there stock roms available to flash that don't include any AT&T bloat and if possible, also the other Motorola apps?

If you want to flash a custom ROM or downgrade from stock JB to ICS, you'll need an unlocked bootloader.
Have you tried Holoblur?

There's always the trusty ole Mexico Retail ROM

Almost stock ROM question

I have a Bell Incredible S. Rooted and installed Cyanogen last week. I've used Cyanogen on about 4 different devices now and have never really played with any stock roms. Main reason for not doing that is the crap/bloatware the carriers install.
So my question is, are there any Stock roms available with carrier software removed that you can suggest for my Bell model?
TIA
Once you have rooted your phone, you can use titanium backup to remove any & all of the bloatware/crapware you want. on any stock rom as well
Arhd is like an optimized stock ROM..
It's really awesome

World wide English. It is stock, unbranded. I've been running it on my Bell IncS since it came out this summer.
Thanks!

You need at least to be unlocked, but i don't think you can flash whatever rom you want...

If you flash a totally stock ROM, it'll be stock, not rooted.
You will need to unlock and install a custom recovery. Mike1986 has a stock ROM thread.
Yep
SKY GO will not work on a rooted phone

You will most probably brick your phone If you use ODIN stock. Now you can try install a custom att rom on your tmobile, but me personally I havent seen that yet.
You can try flashing the att deodex stock rom zip through recovery. At worst you will soft brick but it might work. Good luck.

most roms are for all devices but the ones that are only for specific carries then they can only be used on that carriers device. i would not recommend flashing a rom that is not for all device variants or for your carrier because there is a very high chance you will have issues getting service. even if you dont flash the radios

[Q] Why does Locked Bootloader Matter?

So I have the AT&T S5 with a locked bootloader. I rooted it, put safestrap on it, and installed a custom ROM. Now I read that the Tmobile S5 has an unlocked bootloader, but given that I can root and install custom ROMs, why is the Tmobile variant any better? Also I read locked and encrypted used interchangeably regarding the bootloader, perhaps they are both locked but not encrypted?
Lastly, does an unlocked Tmobile S5 work seamlessly on the AT&T network, it appears the LTE bands overlap so I'm guessing so. Is there a good reason to sell the AT&T variant and get the Tmobile one?
Ungh, stupid AT&T.
You can only flash custom roms based on the stock kernel. With a locked bootloader you'll never be able to flash an aosp rom.

Nor will we be able to flash 4.4.4(or later) when it becomes available. We are stuck waiting for att to release an update, and then we might lose root.

Hopefully we will see somthing happen

Does this mean that the custom roms that are installed are still ultimately based on the original G900A one, or at least the kernel is the same?

Basically, yes.
The recent OTA will update the kernel and firmware, right? But does towelroot still work? Is it likely that the bootloader will be more difficult to break later if I do update?
