[APP] Virtual Aquarium - WIP - Samsung Galaxy Gear

Hi all,
I've been working on a simple watch display that gives you a virtual aquarium on the watch. Do you happen to know how I'd go about turning it into a widget? As it is, it launches as a normal app and that's fine but I'd like it to be something like a watch face.

I think it's cool to have the tiny fish swimming around, the neon tetras swim around as a shoal and the angelfish float around fairly realistically. If you tap the screen, they swim away from where you tapped. It wouldn't be hard to add some other functionality like the ability to feed them by tapping the top of the screen or something but the app closes when the screen times out.
Any comments?

Nice and you now have 11 post! That's one tiny virtual fish tank......lol. Really neat work.
Chris

Thanks and here's a video!

No offence, it's nice that you're building something, but this is one awful looking aquarium. Perhaps add some water texture, and use better fish images...

Feel free to contribute some better images if you want or if you know someone else that could, point them here. I just used those ones temporarily while I got it to do something. They were resized (badly) from another project I had to fit the Gear screen.

Who here likes melon?

Im just wondering
feeling a bit bored, so im starting a melon thread.
Write anything you want about melons here
I like melon. Mainly the big green ones
not so fond of little orange or yellow ones.
I also like the melons on Garry's mod that i found:
you shoot one spot on the floor and a melon appears
then after a few seconds, a ring of melons appear around it
then more around that, and it just keeps growing out
and if anyone touches one, it explodes and sets off the other melons
melons are awesome
well the only one I like is melon schnapps cocktails
I love Melons (all sorts) and prefer them to be seedless.
I love melons too...seedles...melon shake with milk, a lil' bit of sugar and ice YUMMmmm
Chinese melon is very sweet also!
What does this mean?
Is there some kind of hidden meaning?
If I am not mistaken, we're talking about this

[App] Lights Off

I can amuse myself silly until I topple over dead with that stupid game. So I'm making my own version. In special LCD dotmatrix Tron style. Or something.

looks like a lot of fun!
Nice graphics too.
It looks cool!
When can we get it, I would like to write an article about it.
Let me know
Almost done. Needs a little more code polish and I need to make a quite bunch of 5x5 levels. Then I'll submit it. Hopefully as Silverlight application, it doesn't have to go through that silly XBL peer review.
It's submitted. Should be online any time, unless they find the most impossible bugs again.
Toodle do!

Looks awesome - will be checking that out today!
Looks great! Good stuff, man!
Got it! I used to be good at this game haha

Thanks for the support guys.
One of the next days I'm going to update it. Add more preset levels (it's kinda hard to make some that don't look entirely random, I don't get how the iPhone one has like 250 of them) and put a LED Banner mode into it for ****s'n'giggles.
Bought it. I suck at this kind of game, but maybe with practice i'll figure it out. Plus hey, I thought i'd support someone making apps for my phone.
Really nice application. Would be nice to have some extra options (as useless as they may sound). Some light sound effects, an option to either change the colors or to continue to have it match the user's theme color. Also, I find the screen glare effect a bit distracting, maybe an option to turn that off too.
Oh! And run under lock screen would be great too.
Oh, and while I love the tile itself, it looks rather low-res, and the slight white border doesn't really match any of the other tiles on the phone.
Just FYI: Might come off as it sounds like i'm complaining, i'm not, just making suggestions. I appreciate your work and you've done a great job thus far.
Does it lose any information, or why should it run under the lockscreen? The current behavior is that it saves its state and returns to it as it was, bypassing the start animation and all. If the app was left more than five minutes ago, it goes back to the start screen. It saves the current mode, move count and grid layout tho, simply hitting Start again should get you where left off. I figure I could bump that timeout a little higher, tho.
As far as the icon border goes, I did that because on dark themes, the dark background kinda didn't make it stand out on the home screen grid. I figure I have to think of something else.

[APP]Bubble Twist- A Spinning Bubble Shooter Game -[R]- 5 MAY 2011

Name: Bubble Twist
App Description: Bubble Twist is a fun bubble shooter type game where the middle of the game spins as you shoot bubbles. This makes the game much more fun and challenging because you have to plan ahead for the next shot and take the spin into account. The speed and the direction of the spin depend on the angle of the bubbles that hit the middle. As you clear levels, you gain points for busting bubbles. The game features great graphics, fun music, and global highscores.
The game is available for FREE in the marketplace. Please try it out and give me suggestions and feedback on how to improve the game.

That's a nice game, thanks for posting it here.
I just have one tiny idea which might improve the gameplay.
could you perhaps ad a "ghost bubble" right at the spot where one put our finger down?
I sometimes struggle with the right angle because I miscalculated the size of the actual bubble.
Hey thanks for checking out the game. I understand what you mean by that, but the only problem I see with that suggestion is that your finger would be covering the ghost bubble. Let me know if you know a way I can get around that problem somehow, maybe by displaying a ghost bubble a different way or something. Again, I appreciate the suggestion.
Hey,
first of all I'm sorry, that my response took a while but I was quite busy at uni and had very little time to play around.
Still I played around the game and came up with a possible solution. Perhaps you could ad a pin so that there is something which just points at the spot where the bubble is going to end up.
But to be honest I couldn't think of a way to get that working without haven trouble with the edges of the screen.
All in all I just kept playing and got better (I still didn't get more then 590 points ) and actually think of it as playable right now.
It needs a bit of time to get used to it but in the end it's fine.

[APP] Gesture Calc -[R]- 08/Mar/2012 -[U]- 08/Mar/2012 -[V]- 1.0

Name: Gesture Calc
Hi,
Would like to mention a new Windows Phone app, Gesture Calc. It is an app I made for the 30 to launch contest last month, but it is also now in the marketplace.
It's a calculator app similar to the one that comes with your phone but with gestures for operations. My thought was that with the touch screens available on smartphones, the standard calculator is kind of boring. So instead of using the buttons, you can trace things like plus, minus, divide, etc. on the bottom of the screen.
The app is completely free, with no trial limits, and does not have any ads. Just looking for any feedback for stuff I can add to the app.
Thanks!

Hmm... What do you mean by that? Do you know people who entertain themselves by calculators??? I know nobody, even my 2 years old daughter (she's prefer Galaxy Tab with colorful games) Calculators are used for calculations, not for entertainment so they can't be "boring".

By "kind of boring" I mean very similar, and without many differences from the layout of calculators from the 60's. The gesture addition is just an experiment to see if people like a feature like that. I don't mean I intend a calculator to be an entertainment app. However, I could add farm animal noises to all the buttons so it is more entertaining though.
Oh, yeah, the farm animal noises - it's what people usually missed from calculators at all
By the way, do you like a gesture feature? Can you calculate more effective or fast with gestures?
that's a good idea to make a "entertainment" calculator

Yeah I actually like using the gestures. Not sure if it is faster though. Haven't tested the speed of doing a bunch of calculations.

Uhhh never heard it called gloving. Guess I'm just that old. We did that about 15 years ago. Never heard that name.
But anyway, this is a team I like

I've been out of the game for a minute, but wouldn't it work better with black gloves and a black shirt? Just asking. Seeing the glow off your hands and t-shirt takes away from the effect a little.

You're right. Back in my day, we made our own with black mechanic's gloves with LEDs and fiber optics. Now I searched for some stuff on youtube and all the people are wearing white gloves.
reminds me of Mickey Mouse and old Disney cartoon jazz hands lol

Yeah, the white gloves just aren't getting it done. It's strange to say about something like this, but the white gloves say dorky, black feels "professional" =p I don't know how else to put it, but yeah, if a bunch of dudes got up on stage in white gloves I'd wonder if the mousekateers were about to throw down.
I'd use black gloves , but my thumb light points down instead of up, so it lights up my palm. If I didn't prefer that, I'd probably use black

I would also use a black skimask or something to cover up the face. Also drop the glasses. Reflections
I do have a mask design that I'm looking to get made, its ganna be painted on a jabowakeez mask.
