I am using samsung galaxy note GTN7000 with CWM 10.1.3. Recently i got into a weird issue of shutdown. Phone switches off automatically after sometime when i am using internet through wifi or 3g. But if the charger is plugged in it will not shut down. Also it does not shut down if internet is not in use i.e. wifi is off and mobile data is disabled. I tried changing ROMs, went back to stock ROM but problem still persists.

Try to use the camera with flash and check if the phone shuts down... Could be issue with battery.

I have recently purchased Galaxy S and the phone runs fine for most part. But when I try to use GPRS on the phone, its slows down a lot and often freezes for several seconds. I only have this issue while using GPRS and not wifi. As soon as I switch GPRS off the phone gets back to its normal speed.
Does anyone know the likely cause of the problem and its solution? I am currently using Android 2.1 and the 2.2 upgrade is not available in my region.
Running the standard 2.3.3 rom.
After using the wifi at home, then popping out somewhere with the phone, when I come back home again the phone doesn't detect the wifi as it's switched off the wifi on the phone for some reason and I need to turn it on manually. I've changed the wifi sleep policy from 'when screen turns off' to 'never', but it still switches off the wifi.
It's my wifes phone, my Galaxy S2 works fine?
Can't see any similar posts - any suggestions, thanks.
Reboot your phone !anfter rebooting if the problem still exists then upgrade to 2.3.4 as 2.3.3 has some wi_fi problems.

Thanks, will give that a go and report back.
This morning I woke and found that my wifi was turning off/on, rebooted the phone and now Wifi wont turn on...I was using Xtrasmooth ROM, so I wipe it reinstall same issue, so decide to load a different ROM (Chroma) still no wifi, everything else works, any idea?
Anyone having problems with WiFi on stock ROM lately? Every so often the WiFi shuts off completely and can't be enabled again until restarting the watch. I have tried manually switching it back on in Settings but it remains stuck in Off mode. Factory reset it, cleared the Android Wear app and everything but it still gets this problem. It was perfectly fine for about a month or two after the WiFi update was pushed.

Same issue here.
I have a similar problem with trying to keep WIFI on. I have to turn off Bluetooth using the Advanced Settings app (root not required) to make WIFI connect. If you don't want to use the app, try turning off bluetooth on your phone to see if WIFI will connect. I think the watch prioritizes bluetooth connection.

Edit: I turned off bluetooth on my phone and the watch's WIFI connection stays on.
Hi,
My Note 5 (SM--N920W) recently started to switch Wifi, on/off intermittently. Sometimes, the Wifi stays on for 15/20 minutes (like when watching youtube) and some time it turns on/off continuously (mostly, when downloading a large file with a continuous stream of data). I can see that in the phone settings, the Wifi button goes grey (to off position automatically) and turns blue automatically & tries to connect to the router, sometimes it stays connected for some minutes and sometimes it's just instantaneous that it goes grey again (Wifi off). This keeps on repeating.
The phone is updated to Android 7 (official ROM) and has been reset and also tried all different settings like turning off location completely, disabling wifi scanning etc but that didn't help. Any idea what could be wrong? Also, the phone is locked to a carrier for which I don't have the sim anymore. I am not sure if running it without sim is causing this wifi issue.
Thanks! Any help is highly appreciated!
If you can try using a different wireless router or network, and see if the issue persists. I had a similar problem awhile back, except it only happened when Bluetooth was on. I ended up buying a new router instead of the one I was using from Comcast, and it resolved the problem! Also I've similar issues with other devices, and editing the build prop and changing ro.securestorage.support=true to false in /system/build.prop might help.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I'll look into secure storage flag, though it looks like this is for the rooted devices, mine does not seem to be rooted (I bought it online, not sure if that was rooted earlier or not).
Another behavior I have noted, that initially the wifi for first few minutes works ok, no drops or switching on/off. But then it starts to go nuts turning on/off continuously. I am not sure if its a hardware issue, that somehow the wifi module gets hot after a few minutes of usage and starts to malfunction. But I have read somewhere on this forum, that the BT & WIFI are on the same module on the motherboard if the BT runs fine (which it does on my Note5), WIFI as far as hardware is concerned should be OK.
I haven't tried any custom ROM (though tried downgrading to Android 6.1 - ROM from sam mobile) but that didn't work. Any idea, which custom ROM is most stable and easy to apply?
Thanks!
If your on a stock unrooted rom, I'd definitely try another router, even if your just connecting to a friend's. If it doesn't occur then, its the router. As far as custom roms, I'm running the Note fan edition port by RadeonMaya, and it works great.
