Hi,
Current setup :
Xperia z1 C6903
Three UK
Version 4.4.4
Build 14.4.a.0.108
Rooted
Locked bootloader (happy that way)
adb drivers installed (on xp)
XZDualRecovery2.7.1 downloaded
Flashtools-0.9.16.1 downloaded
All I wanna do is debrand and remove as much bloatware as possible...
Can someone point me to the right rom?
And confirm I'm using the right recovery and flash tool?
Thanks!

You understand that UK unbranded updates are usually the very last to be released. Why don't you just delete the bloat from your exisitng firmware. There is probably minimal difference between the bloat that comes.with the Three firmware and UK unbranded.

Bumping this as want to flash to UK generic - been reading all morning but frankly lost in the number of options and versions,
Would someone point me to the latest recovery and flash tool needed?

No need for recovery
Just download flashtool from flashtool.net
Then look in the mega collection thread for the latest ftf

OK, so dropped my last z1 and just bought another second hand.... Went to flash it using flashtools are per subject above, but the PC asked for install of fastboot drivers. (When I had flastools running and files prepared I plugged the usb in while holding vol key as normal and got a blue light (fastboot I assume))...
Does this mean I can not use the the flashtools method?
Flashtool works for all xperia devices.
I suspect you need to go into flashmode (Green LED) to flash a FTT not fastboot mode (Blue LED) which is used for flashing to the boot partition.

Does anyone currently plan to port TWRP to the Xperia T?
I'm no developer but I'd love to see a port of TWRP on my device.
I might try to do it myself following TeamWin's guides but I'd be a bit worried about bricking devices, especially my own!
if u brick theres always sony's restore program!
Sounds good, which one?
Just flash a stock .ftf firmware file with flashtool
Or use Sony update service, or pc companion

Thats becuae we have to unlock the bootloader to install custom roms at the moment.
But, you can always flash .ftfs in flashtool.
I got unlocked my bootloader and used custom kernels until i got the .67 update from hongkong, unfortunately my phone keeps detecting new update for 9.1.b.1.67 not only in pc companion but also in my notification bar.
My question now is, shall i accept the update? Thank you

Simple, no
Don't accept any OTA firmware if you unlocked bootloader
You can update firmware via flashtool by downloading stock FTF firmware

Very good advice. Don't do OTA
If there is no ftf posted you can make one
Use PCCompanion and use the "repair" option. It will download the necessary files to flash your phone but will fail to flash because if your unlocked bootloader.
Then use flashtool to make the ftf from the downloaded files which ou can then flash in flashtool
the instructions on how to do this are in the all in one thread

Without rooting or flashing is impossible. You have to access to system to delete it.

After deleting the screen you will get a blanc black screen after sony logo or you can replace it with something else but actually I don't know if it's that easy to do.
If you are on 4.2 you can flash a unbranded FTF Android 4.3 update without unlocking bootloader or rooting and probably you will lose the screen after sony logo.

No, official 4.3 (290) for you will still have the T-Mobile boot animation. You will need to flash a generic 290 FTF. Because you are flashing a stock FTF, it is not necessary to unlock BL or root.
I don't think you should lose warranty, but if you take it back into T-Mobile they'll probably wonder why all the T-Mobile stuff is missing.

You will lose Warranty if you Unlock Bootloader Only. You will not lose your Warranty if you will root your phone or deleting T-Mobile bloatware.
Yes, Official FTF in your case will have the T-Mo logo and all the t-mo bloatware.
The solution if to flash a Unbranded Generic TFT .290, it's a full rom 4.3, and flash it via Flashtool v0.9.13. To do that you don't need root or unlocked bootlader.
Doing this you will not have T-Mo logo and bloatware but you will lose all the data on your phone because is raccomended a fresh installation with wipe Data, Cache and Appslog.
You can still not losing your data if you uncheck Wipe Data but is not recommended.
I brought the phone in Poland and I flashed a generic NCB FTF .290 and is working flawlessly in all europe.
All what you need is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
Good luck.
There are apps to change the boot animation but requires root, go to pay store and search "change bout animation" and select the app you want.
Don't forget that it requires root.

Yes, like the instructions. I give you few tips: backup all what you need to SD, switch off your phone and keep pressing volume down and connect to pc via usb, keep pushing the volume down all the time when do this, let windows install the drivers and when your phone will be connected in Flashmode open the Flashtool, select the firmware (put the firmware in the flashtool folder) leave the flashtool in default and flash the FTF, remember to keep pushing volume down all the time, when the green bar of the progress will start you can leave your phone alone.
All the FTF XXX.X.A.0.290 in the list are Android 4.3, download Central Europe if you are there and flash. You can use also NCB.

No, that mean there is some very small differences in customization and R2B actually is the newest one. Nothing what will influence the functionality of your phone just update with the Unbranded one.

Not yet and no guarantee it will be. BTW, this Kitkat at the moment is not a big deal. Have a lot of issues. Stay with 4.3 for now. It's just an advice.
After upgrading to 4.4 beanstalk tried to downgrade by installing FTF of 4.3 ROM. Ever since all I can do is get into FlashMode and FastBoot (using Flashtool), and am able to install FTFs and fastboot boot.img, but the device never turns on (and doesn't vibrate when I press the power button). Tried unlocking, re-locking, running Sony's Update (but it says the software is incompatible so it won't upgrade), different FTFs and BOOT.IMGs.
All I want is to get back to a locked, official ROM.
Help!

Try to flash the latest firmware using flashtool
which flashtool are you using?
Flashtools state that the version of the software can't be upgraded (it was a custom KitKat rom). Also tried the most up-to-date flashtool that I could find (0.9.13.0).
Is the downgrade from 4.4 even possible? Is there an order in which I should be installing using FlashTool?

If you are trying the OTA, it is likely to fail. I had the same issues.
Plug the phone into the PC and update via PCC. It will work.
I tried via PC Companion but it shows an error like " you installed custom software to phone,it can't be updated "..

that means you have an unlocked bootloader..restore ta keys if you have a backup or just relock it and try again
or flash a ftf via flashtool and keep unlocked bootloader
If its OTA that fails it probably because of rooted phone. If PCC fails to update its because of unlocked bootloader, check for it in service menu.

Just relock the bootloader and you can update the phone with Sony Update Service.
However my problem after unlocking the BL again the phone still offers the update to be installed even it is already there. Any idea how to fix this?
