Hello, everyone.
I've accidently deleted a really IMPORTANT thread on my WhatsApp about 3 weeks back.
Now, as we know WhatsApp only keeps database backup for one week only.
So, I want to recover the deleted WhatsApp database on my internal memory using any recovery program.
For that I need to mount my S Advance (i9070) internal memory as a separate drive on windows by USB mass storage.
Yes, I have rooted my phone.

Even if anyone can point me to the right direction.

Hi All,
I'm newbie to this area and I just flashing my P1000 into CM10.1 with JB 4.2.2. Everything is work fine for me and I love the PDroid Manager function very much too!
The only problem that I encountered now is the USB mass storage function. When i plug in the USB cable into desktop computer, it only shows external SD card drive but internal SD card drive shows nothing whereby lots of data were stored into internal SD card.
Does anyone help to enlightening me on how to get back to live for my internal SD card drive?
Thanks in advance!

Try to disable and re-enable the mass storage.
The error should only occur after the boot.
Bye. Paolo.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your advice. However, I tried to disable & re-enable the mass storage under storage - USB computer connection still can't solve my problem as computer keep asking to "insert a disk" when I click the internal SD card drive.
Any idea?
Thanks.
hi all,
after reset all setting to default factory setting, the internal SD card mass storage issue had been settled. Thanks for your concern and advice.

Connect to your PC?
You are not being clear.
You connect it using the USB cable.
If you meant to say the PC can't detect it, you still have to tell in what way, as storage, in Odin, etc, etc?

Have you set Fast Charger?
If set can not use mass storage.
Bye. Paolo.

Hi All,
Same problem comes back again after I've done factory reset to my GT-P1000. Besides this, I discover that the radio keeps telling me no service but I still can access my mail using mobile data network (not WiFi).
Other than these, my GT-P1000 will reboot itself automatically. Please be informed that I did flashing this from original GB to this ROM directly.
Is there any advice can be taken? I don't wish keep factory resetting my GT-P1000 in order to access the internal SD again.
Another issue need to find out is how to switch the picture storage location from internal SD to external SD after camera snapped?
Please help, thanks!

Can't mount USB Storage (internal storage)

Hi All,
My device is Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N700 using Jelly Bean 4.1.2. (not rooted). Before I was using ICS.
My problem is that my USB storage (internal memory) is not recognized (0.00B/0.00B). My system storage and SD card is fine though. If I plug my phone to my PC it also can only recognizes the external SD Card. I tried to mount SD Card from settings > storage > USB Storage > mount SD card, but it just won't do anything.
I've googled and looked within forums and read something about the different path address: ICS (/sdcard) and JB (/sdcard0). Most of the people that encountered the similar problems were rooted. And I'm such a beginner couldn't understand the explanations. I've been trying to solve this problem for nearly a week. I couldn't use my camera, download images etc.
Can anyone help and try to explain the solutions for a noob like me? I really couldn't understand most of the talks about this similar topic.
Thanks
I had the same problem as you. I read somewhere that if you re-install ICS and then JB the problem is fixed. I never got around to try this because in the meantime and when trying to debug / fix it I ended up "bricking" my phone...
If you want to give it a try, you need the ADB drivers in your PC, ODIN and the appropriate ROMs that you can get from Sam mobile.

Storage issues- Irrelevant 'USB Storage' partition

Hello
I have Galaxy S (int. i9000) and have installed CM 10.1 and using Semaphone as a custom kernel.
I don't know how did this partition named 'USB Storage' has come into existence leaving 'Internal Storage' just 1.5 GB.
I know that CM has been installed on this 1.5 GB partition since my phone in spite of having 12 GB free in the 'USB Storage' shows 'low memory storage remove some apps' and that 'Internal Storage' only has 0.220 GB free.
There is no ext. micro card inserted into my phone.
I would also like to mention that the break up of the storage partitions just keeps on displaying 'Calculating' even after leaving the phone in the same state a full night.
It would be great if someone could help me sort this issue by deleting this so called 'USB Storage' partition.
Thanks in advance
P.S.: Refer to the attachments.
Can someone please help me with this? At least point me in the right direction. Please?

partition layout may be changed and has changed in custom ROMS by developer of your ROM, so read your ROMs, developer thread, Here your internal SD card is known as USB Storage, which is what it is.

Note cant see internal usb storage

So my Galaxy Note has just stopped seeing the internal usb storage. I have a 32GB SD Card installed and can read that fine but the internal USB storage has unmounted itself somehow. When I go into settings and storage and try to mount the usb storage, it does not work, it just flashes up with "Preparing USB storage" and then nothing happens.
File explorers can't see the usb storage but can browse the SD Card fine. Some aps are running, some do not run properly as a result (eg Swiftkey keyboard works but can't access text prediction etc).
Presumably a file is corrupt somewhere and stopping the phone from reading the internal storage somehow but I am not very techy.
It is running the stock Samsung firmware with Android 4.1.2. I've turned the phone off and on a couple of times, taken the battery out etc.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Maybe formatting it is the last option if changing ROM doesn't help.
I haven't tried a factory reset yet, that is probably the next step. However, will that effect the EMMC bug? I guess the other alternative is to flash with a ROM, probably the same one I have now but as I have no experience of doing that, I will need to take some time to read up on the process etc.
Thanks E.Cadro for moving the thread.
Hello, I'm currently facing the same issue as well. For no rhyme or reason, the internal phone storage is not detected. Trying to find ways to salvage the memory as there are some stuff that's not backed up.
Does any one have any tips on fixing it before trying the last resort of formatting to factory settings?
Some details:
Stock samsung firmware running 4.1.2
Not rooted

I'm just not seeing why a factory reset is such a big deal (from a safe kernel of course)
So you have to spend 20 minutes setting up the phone again...

Point is to try to save the storage as I have mentioned, some things (photos and stuff) have not been backed up yet.

I resolved the problem by doing the factory reset. Not such a big deal but lost some data in the process that I could not back up because of the internal storage not being mounted. In my case the data I lost was not such a big deal as most of my important stuff was on the ext sd card or in a cloud somewhere.
After the reset, the note is obviously like new and running very smoothly. Makes me think I should do a reset every so often to clear out apps that accumulate and just to give the phone a fresh start.

Internal storage files formatting problem even after factory reset.

Hello everyone,
I am facing a wired problem on my GT-N7000, after flashing new rom with wipe data and factory reset, all files in internal storage remains intact. :crying: i want to format that internal storage completely because there are so many junk files like, snote files and other application files which i don't use so can anyone please help me out?
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem.
Using stock rom (no root access) I can format/factory internal SD card.
As soon as I'm rooting the device I can't do it anymore (from recovery's menu or Android).
I installed CM11 but no better luck.
Please help us.
