[Q] Help me to fix “NULL NULL” after N7000DDLA5

I update to N7000DDLA5, but after that when I type any key from keyboard showing “NULL NULL”.
I found some fix from XDA, by flashing “CSC” file by mobile odin. But from where I will get that CSC file, I have only single N7000DDLA5…..TAR.MD5 file only.
Advise please…
i extract TAR.MD5 with WINRAR. then flash with Mobile odin > Cache > Internal SD-Card > Cache.img
but after restart i am getting below message and issue still persist. please help me....

I faced the same problem. Use the latest version of Mobile Odin to flash the whole thing again, you'll be fine. You can also use the CWM app to flash this.
1. If you have an extra memory card, use it. Make a folder named 'firmware' (without quotes) and put your tar.md5 file in it.
2. In the CWM app, select 'flash stock firmware'.
3. Select continue>keep CF Root kernel.
If you don't happen to have an extra memory card, create a folder named 'external_sd' at the root of your internal storage (/sdcard/external_sd/firmware/blahblah.tar.md5).
I must tell you, this has never worked for me though, and I've always managed to miss the error message thrown up by the recovery, so I can't tell you why
I got this error when updating to la4, not sure what the issue is but I don't use the samsung keybaord anyway I use smart keyboard and the issue doesn't happen with this keyboard, so I'm not t bothered about it
Flash stock firmware method stated above

2. re-flash same firmware (N7000DDLA5) whole again.
3. after restart, Samsung keyboard issue resolved. Done!
Many thanks guys.

null keyboard characters after rooting my Samsung Galaxy Note
I just got my samsung galaxy note (SGN) and rooted it following the instructions on this page (very good - worked great)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
When the SGN booted it was rooted but the built in samsung keyboard would display null no matter what key i hit.
I did not have mobil odin installed nor could i install it without using my keyboard and i did not want to re-flash a kernel or any other drastic measures... so to fix this easily i went into the android market now (google play store) and then tapped CATEGORIES then TOOLS then TOP FREE and scrolled down to GO Keyboard (i am sure any free keyboard will work - this is just the first one i found) and installed it.
This resolved the Samsung keyboard problem and i can now type normally so i can upgrade to new ROM's etc...

hi guys
i m new to this site
this small tutorial is when ur restoring ur rooted or normal stock firmware with any other firmwares or unrooting and restoring to stock firmware.
btw its very simple when u update firmware over odin use the latest version and don't forget to check USB debuggin start update process.......
it takes some time.
when ur device is working it will be null null null .........
go to recovery mode wipe factory reset first then wipe partition...
when ur finished with above steps
go to downloading mode and repeat the update of firmware procedure from ODIN again ...
ur phone will be without any errors (for ex: no null in keyboard wen u type
and will be able to update from ur current firmware if updates are available ...
any doubts please feel free to ask thank you.
flash it via pc odin
i flashed it via mobile odin and got the null error too

[Q] CyanogenMod 9.1.0 on P1000 not showing network

Hi all,
I am new to flashing and ROM installing but I did learn few things so far, I only had my phone rooted before flashing no more
I download cm-9.1.0-p1.zip from get.cm / device=p1
Placed it on the sd card, rebooted in recovery mood, installed from zip file typically as follows
Download the prebuilt release of CyanogenMod you wish to install
Place the CyanogenMod rom .zip file on the root of the SD card
Boot to recovery mode on the Galaxy Tab (GSM)
Select the option to wipe data/factory reset.
Select Install zip from sdcard.
Select Choose zip from sdcard
Select the CyanogenMod file you placed on the sdcard
Once the installation has finished, rebooted system
Click to collapse
then added GApps gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip from goo.im / gapps to have google apps on my Tab
The problem now that My tab won't connect to Mobile Network, saying "Error searching for networks" and showing attached new screenshot
while it was showing this baseband on original old rom as attached
what can I do to fix this ?
and if there is a better ICS/JellyBean ROM that fits into the P1000 without missing features, plz guide me to it
I tried Modem flashing too
note that I already tried different modems flashing, fist got the one from cyanogenmod wiki matching my baseband :
JXJP4 ,md5: 8bbc850a0c1bc8b5db68bff3838ebabf
and then another two from different forums, but none of them did work
flashed all of them in recovery mode, still network not showing
Get a JPZ/JP4 modem zip.
Unzip it.
Copy the modem.bin to /radio/modem.bin

I am curious as to how I can go about getting this onto my Desire 510, I currently have no OS due to a botched install of busybox and I cant boot past white HTC splash page. When I power the phone off and connect it to pc to copy the file to internal storage it wont let me copy. I tried going into recovery and attaching to computer and it doesn't show up to copy, I then did ADB sideload and copied that way, but it stated that it failed after copying 100% which I am guessing was the install part and not the copy part. I am at this point somewhat clueless as to what I can do to get this back up and running

I was able to get it up and running by restoring the Nandroid backup. Download and open the zip file. Open the recovery.log file and write down the path with a name made up of multiple characters.
Copy it to the same path on any sd card, put it in, boot into recovery and it will be able to read it.
Worked for me. Let me know if any help is required.

Lol. You're trying to help out the wrong person bro.
Easy way, if you still have Recovery access:
Go into Recovery
Click BACKUP
Check *Boot *System *Data
SWIPE to BACKUP
This will create a folder on your SD card for this backup, albeit a backup of your damaged destroyed OS/System.
Reboot Phone to System, or Power off and remove SD Card -- However you can easily gain access to the SD for READ/WRITE..
On SD Card, you will see a folder called TWRP
Goto ---> TWRP/BACKUPS/FA48WSR00xxx
You will see a folder called 2014-12-08--21-31-38 KOT49H release-keys (or similar, it WILL NOT BE NAMED EXACT)
Place these files, in the above download, in this folder. Now insert SD back in Phone.
Then reboot into Recovery, and click RESTORE, and you should have the option to restore.
I also went back onto the SD and renamed the 2014-12-08--21-31-38 KOT49H release-keys to StockRecovery and I can just leave it there for when I brick again..

I'm seeing that Virgin Mobile is pushing out an OTA update and I've managed to get a hold of it but I know it fails because of twrp so is there anything you can do with this? I do have the OTA file saved as a zip on my sd card but I can't upload it here because it's almost 57MB and the max upload limit is 20MB . Any ideas?
I'm working on it now, I'll see if I can get it to flash and reconstruct a custom ota like zip for us since nobody could back up recovery

if you want no Root then don't install it. If the system won't boot after restoring the Nandroid you can try a factory reset in twrp

The only way we can get it ported is if we find an Android 9.0 with the same chipset (Very unlikely) but keep your eyes peeled and let me know if you find one
Have tried to install, but I can't, I have followed this steps:
1. With ODIN, I have installer this file: I9506XXUDOD3_I9506NEEDOD4_I9506XXUDOD3_HOME.tar.md 5.7z
2. Then, I have booted my device, and then Installed TWRP with ODIN.
3. Then, I copied the ViPER4Android and JamesDSP folder into the root directory of my phone.
4. Then, I did a boot backup, and copied the RESTORE ALL PARTITIONS Folder into the folder where the other backup folder is.
5. Then, I Restored the RESTORE ALL PARTITIONS backup, and then I bootes into the system again.
Idk if I'm forgetting to do some step that is in the tutorial, but I can't find the way to install this I'll be very pleased if someone helps me.
thx in advance

What is currently on the GS⁴ you plan to install this on? Is it custom or is the latest stock build on it?
EDIT: go ahead and flash the stock image provided in my zip. Then after it reboots to stock revocery and does its little thing immeadiately boot back into stock revovery and format /data after that reboot to download and flash twrp. Go ahead and re setup the restore of the all partitios 7z now when you do a restore unclick all the options and restore only the EFS partition then reboot into the still unbooted stock image you odin flashed. Make sure cellular wifi etc works (If the downgrade was unsuccessful then some of those will break) if the downgrade was unsuccessful then do the same thing above except omit the EFS restore and instread boot after you factory rest in recovery.

2) Stock firmware-> installed TWRP-> mounted EFS -> Taken EFS backup -> Then deleted all the folders and files inside EFS except Factory APP and ProvDATA -> Wipe Data -> installed Combo -> Checked IME -*#06# -> Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband -> installed Stock again - Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband
3) Stock firmware-> Installed TWRP-> mounted EFS -> Taken EFS backup -> Then deleted all the folders and files inside EFS(including Factory APP and PROVdata - now EFS Folder is Empty) -> Wipe Data -> installed Combo -> Got DRK ERROR ->Installed Noverity -> installed Stock again - Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband
4) Downloaded New Stock - installed TWRP-> mounted EFS -> Taken EFS backup -> Then deleted all the folders and files inside EFS except Factory APP and ProvDATA -> Wipe Data -> installed Combo -> Checked IME -*#06# -> Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband -> installed Stock again - Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband
5) New Stock - Installed TWRP-> mounted EFS -> Taken EFS backup -> Then deleted all the folders and files inside EFS(including Factory APP and PROVdata - now EFS Folder is Empty) -> Got DRK ERROR ->Installed Noverity -> installed Stock again - Only Serial is present but no IMEI & Baseband
Note: for all the above steps, if i install the combo directly - installation PASS and i am getting struck at Factory Binary LOGO and then it bootloop, even waited for almost 15-20 Min even though bootlooping and not able to open factory binary.
So, i wiped data before installing COMBO, then it worked well and i am able to open Factory Binary. and for all the above steps i got unknown status for CP, P_SN, HW, Cal.D as Unknown(attached screenshot). dont know why?
if there are any steps that i need to follow please suggest.

Hi,
I am using SM-N9500 samsung note 8 model - hongkong version, i frequently change the roms. when last time i tried to install a custom rom i lost IMEI and baseband. i am getting error like IMEI-unknown, baseband- unknown, no network and sim cards not working.
i tried installing stock rom, custom roms and even Combination files as suggested by CuBz90, everything was installed successfully but only the baseband, signal and IMEI are not working. i didnt even back up my EFS folder. So, kindly help me to get back my IMEI.
please find below the procedures i followed.
