Game performance - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Looking for a cheap tablet for a little gaming and internet, I am stuck between this, Nexus 7 and Asus memopad HD 7.
Can the Kindle play Fifa 14 smoothly?
Thanks guys.

If you overclock the CPU a bit and keep your RAM clean,I don't know why it won't. Keep in mind that space is a small issue.

Mostly for Gaming on the Dell Streak 7?

I was thinking about getting the Streak from Staples but mainly just for gaming, would all of you recommend it for gaming only?
I would love to get a Asus TF but for 1/2 the price and i only want to game with it, the streak seems perfect.
What do you think?
If you're never to far from a power plug, it's really no different than any other portable gaming console but with more features.
Do most market games run pretty decent on the streak, i was wondering also?

Every one I've played runs fantastically; especially the Tegra Zone games, of course (not because they run any better, but because they're ususally a higher quality in terms of graphics and frame rate).
Basically, you can expect the S7 to run everything from the Market as well as any of the top dogs out there because they all run the Tegra 2 processor (XOOM, ASUS Transformer, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Atrix, G2X, etc.).

Thanks for the info, you pretty much made up my mind to get one now.
Also anybody recommend any particular custom ROMS for just gaming by chance as well?
use strekdroid 1.3 for gaming you can overclock it. Just know that gameloft doesnt support the dell streak 7 sucks but you can get most of there games to work just use tegra based games i have 21 gameloft games on my streak all work perfect also if you root it you can use chainfire to get more games to work that dont support tegra chip set like Madden

I second StreakDroid 1.3, but be advised it doesn't support bluetooth, so no Wiimote+classic if you're using emulators. Honestly, though, you ought to be fine on stock. Just replace the homescreen.

MC4 Graphics Mod

Anyone know how to up the graphics in Modern Combat 4 like on the HOX? I tried the apk modder but it's meant for the One X so naturally it didn't work. I've seen people on YouTube with Nexus 7s playing on highest settings, anyway we can too?
CM10.1

Nexus 7 has it automatically because it is "optimized" for Tegra. I am looking for the same thing on my Nexus 10 which is how I ended up here. LOL I am going to dig through the files and see if I can copy the settings over to my n10, when I have some luck I will let you know. After dealing with these nVidia optimizations in PC games for the last 10 years I can tell you that it is not hardware specific.
I tried it on my p5113 on highest.
Also on medium
Completely unplayable :s
MC4
i have it running very nicely on my sungsonic 4.1.2.there is no optimization needed here,it runs nice and smooth

Because Gameloft thinks your device is high end. I have a GS3(US) and they still see it as not powerful enough.
At least include a graphics slider gameloft.

[Q] What is the actual ram for the HD+

My HD+ is only showing 768.8 MB of RAM,not 1gb. Is that right?
1GB of ram, 256MB of it is allocated as graphics memory.

Good information, thanks. I was going to wait for the new Nexus 7 with 2 GB (IO rumor proved false). My HD+ is faster than my original Kindle Fire but not as zippy as I'd like.

I thought the rumor was not reliable before the I/O because such upgrades would have caused the price of Nexus 7 to go up.
I have a Nexus 7. It is fast but the screen is just a bit smaller. I did a benchmark with HD+ and it scored the same in HTML5 test with stock room and outperformed Nexus 7 using CM10.1. 3D Gaming though it is about 20% less FPS than Nexus 7 but still playable.
No sd slot and the 7" display taken up by the fixed navigation bar is too constrained for me. The Nooks 9" display makes the navigation bar a lot less of an issue.
As far as chipset performance, the cpu proves to be faster than Tegra 3 based in MAME and N64 performance. MW3 and NOVA3 are just as smooth in spite of the 2x higher res display.
The only thing that makes no sense is some games load so slowly, there is no point in playing them IMO- Asphalt 7 is the worst and NFSMW is second. The two other games noted above though load fine and they are huge as well.

Hearthstone performance predictions

Do you guys think the wifi version of the galaxy tab s 8.4 will be able to run hearthstone no problem wuthout the Snapdragon 800 or the Adreno 330?
I also like to know that, I bought this tablet mainly to play hearthstone
I found this on reddit, it seems that Blizzard leaked this information on their website and then removed after.
It is possible to predict if the galaxy tab S will run hearthstone with this information? When I say run, I hope to run without any lag with decent graphics :|
Code:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Hardware 6-inch screen or larger
Operating System Android 4.0 or later
Memory 1 GB RAM
VERIFIED DEVICES
The following devices are verified to run Hearthstone well:
Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6 (2014)
Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 (2014)
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 (2013)
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 (2014)
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (2014)
Asus Google Nexus 7
Huawei MediaPad X1
NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9200
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
Samsung Galaxy Note LTE 10.1 N8020
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014)
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet LTE
Note: The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T is incompatible with Hearthstone. Devices with PowerVR 540/544 GPUs may experience graphical issues. Updating your device to the latest version of your operating system may address these issues. Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and Fire OS 4.5.1 are recommended.
it's running great on mine!

Very Laggy indeed on mine.
It looks good though.
Surprised they didn't support this model from the off.
Does it lag or runs it smooth?
I am using Tab S 8.4 WIFI
well for me its extremely laggy when theres a few cards on the table.
It playable , but slow. I'm sure things will be improved though
Also laggy for me. Completely playable, but my Nexus 5 runs it more smoothly.
I wouldn't say its overly laggy
feels fine on my 10.5 Tab S - only really laggy when it does the spinning choosing an opponent
played around 5 games last night with no issue
What set up is everyone using, I'm using T805 and the game starts but can't get past start screen, my touch doesn't work from there
Strange, not laggy at all for me running SkyHigh-Kernel and GPU @ 533 mhz. As a PC gamer I am sensitive to low fps, but the game appears to me perfectly smooth. It just pauses a bit longer to load new elements compared to the PC version.
How do you guys keep screen on while playing, jusy increase screen on timer?
Just installed the game to try it out on Lollipop, no lag what so ever, very smooth
The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition has the same processor so should run well according to that list.
Playing it on Lollipop Rom and all appears fine and smooth
so i am the only one who has annoying lag on 10.5 tab with Exynos processor? (stock things)
T705 here and it's running like a charm.
running absolutely fine on mine without lag. Tab S 8.4 WIFI fully stock.

Dedicated gaming and that's it? I can tell you that any game I have played it's smooth fps, but if I were getting a tablet for gaming I'd probabally go with the nvidia shield tablet. But if you plan to watch movies and stuff there is no denying the screen on this baby is the best bar none.

The tab S gets hot alot when playing graphical games. Keep that in mind. So when it gets hot, the cpu and gpu throttle down and lose performance..

Yes, you will be OK with K1. It will support all those games.
You may also consider buying an iPad. It may be a better choice for gaming if you like ios.

I have the Nexus 9, the Shield Tablet and the Tab S 8.4. If you want a tablet for gaming the Shield is far and away your best choice. Make sure you get a good size micro SD card with it to move your games on to.

This is my opinion, but if my main use were gaming I would not get this tab. For one, I think the processor is a bit underpowered. Not a lot of head room for lag free gaming. Also, playing any kind of graphics intensive game just eats up battery like crazy. Like I play NFS for five minutes and it drops 10%. And it gets kind of warm too. Luckily I'm a very casual gamer and get bored quickly.
I would get the shield or wait for the 2015 version of the tab S.
I have the tab s 10.5, I never ever have issues gaming. I play all the games you listed and it works great. The screen is beautiful, have no battery issues what so ever and it never gets too hot even with max brightness... Not sure why everyone else is getting bad results gaming.
I play a lot of online fps and racing games with the moga controller and Jay bud Bluetooth headphones because I travel a lot for work. Highly recommended this tablet.
I love my tabs 8.4
i play wit psp emulator,,
still no lags and best display for movie,,
