Having problems with the 4.4.4 update. When the screen is on and if i recieve a call the screen becomes irresponsive. I am unable to pickup the call. It doesn't even show the caller's name. Like if i am on my home screen and get a call the phone will vibrate and there is a notification in the status bar. But i have no problems while the phone is locked.
Has anyone faced this issue. I didn't have this problem in 4.4.2
I have the XT1052 Indian version.
I can't downgrade my phone now .
Also i can't find the 4.4.4 firmware by which i can install it again and check.
Plz help

I just flashed the ROM to stock XXJPU 2.2.1..
Everything's outstanding except the incoming call ringtone and vibration..
Whenever someone calls me up, the ringtone sounds for some miliseconds.. and then it's just gone... no vibration in silent mode.. no ringtone in general mode..
I never faced this problem before but facing this after I flashed to XXJPU..
Any solution?
Very strange, I haven't had this happen at all and I'm using JPU.
Ahh..
The message notification is working like a charm but the problem is with incoming calls only :S
Checked all the volumes, ringtones, nothing works. Even the vibration mode is not working.. Phone remains silent while someone calls me up.
wow...
maybe u have the bad firmware... so where can u download this firmware.... any links? and do i need the password on the zip file???
Both my girlfriend and myself have a similar problem, oddly enough we have different firmware and models. Call ringtones and message alerts rarely work. E-mail notifications and such are fine. I've got an 16 GB Australian GT-I9000 (Optus) running JPU. However my girlfriend has a 8 GB GT-I9000 (International) running the latest official (Kies) firmware, JPO.
We're both with different telecomm providers so I don't think it's a network related issue. I'm a little surprised to find that so few other people have the same problem. I'm a bit busy of late but I'll see what I can find out. If anyone else has any information please don't hesitate to share it.
I have exactly the same problem, since I upgraded to JPU. With my previous upgrades, I had no problem so it seems to be a JPU's bug. But, why only some of us are concerned ?
What could I do ? Any ideas ??

I just "fixed" mine somehow by fiddling with settings. I probably shouldn't have done so as now I don't actually know what the problem was (so I can't make a real fix). However, I just tried reselecting my call ringtone, message ringtone, changed my volume up and down, turned silent on and then back off a couple times and enabled vibrate for all calls (not just on silent). Then the next time I got a SMS it worked. I don't know if it will stay working though.
Thanx for answering ! Me, I have no problem with SMS notification. Only calls ring. But, I will follow your note : play with volumes, mp3, sounds, notification modes, ...
I just notice that an icon appeared just a semi-second after a call arrives : that's the "Silent mode activated" icon (an HP with a slash on it !). But I'm not in silent mode !
I had this problem, so I re-flashed and only restored apps and not system data, everything is fine now.
Hey, that's fine, I've found the reason why my phone stopped to ring : an app not compatible with version 2.2.1 called NetQin Mobile Manager v3.2 ! I just uninstalled it and my phone found back his voice ! lol !

I updated to ICS last week (stock Rom - non rooted phone updated via Kies).
When I have an incoming call, I just get a black screen and no way of seeing who is calling or answering the call. When the caller hangs up, the phone is still ringing at my end and the only way to stop it ringing is to restart the phone.
I have removed the battery several times and removed all the apps I have downloaded since I upgraded to ICS and run an app cache cleaner but still have the problem.
I am desperate for a resolution and this is my work phone and need to be able to take calls, so apprecation in advance for any help.
Update;
I tried with a different SD card and I still had the same problem.
On one occasion when the phone was ringing it took a very long time to unlock the screen from sleep mode (pattern unlock) and when it did unlock I got a 'process.com is not responding' message and a force close.
Title says it all. I realized that on ocasion my phone would freeze if I got a incoming call. Just now I found out why it freezes.
It only freezes when my sound is turned on. If it's on vibrate or mute, I can answer the call like it should be. As soon as the sound is on though, the phone just freezes and I can't answer the phone. I have to remove the battery and restart my phone, to make it work again.
At first I thought it might be because of the ringtone I had selected, so I changed it. Same effect.
So I was hoping one of you guys code help me with the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Rom?
Rooted?
Bootloader status?
Mods you have installed?
It all helps

Are you using any battery tools app?
A similar issue.
I did not identified another topic and because mine is similar with the OP I reopen it.
I have a Sony Xperia V - LT25i.
Sometime when I receive a call and the screen is activated, I'm not able to slide horizontally to answer, but I'm able to touch bottom of the screen to reject the call with an SMS. I'm not sure what is the cause and what exactly is the pattern.
During receiving the call I noticed sometime, pressing the power button twice with a delay of 2.. 3 seconds between them, I can answer to the receiving call.
I noticed this behaviour on 4.1.2 and on 4.3 too.
I noticed this on another Xperia V too.
Details:
Xperia V, Android 4.3, fw: 9.2.A.1.210 (all stock), customization 1268-8838_R1J, bootloader is locked (unlock allowed).
Are also others with this behaviour?
Yup I have same problem too.

I have exactly the same problem as cubexx with my Xperia V with he same version 4.3, and FW 9.2.A.1.210
ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING!!!
I can't post in main slimkat thread for my phone (i am new user):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587302
So i create new thread.
I have problem with my slimkat which is really annoying. In 50% cases when someone is calling me and my phone is locked i hear ring but i can't unlock screen. Screen is black, I am trying to unlock using every key, but screen is still black. I can unlock it when phone stops ringing.
Does somebady experienced similar issue with this rom?
Reflash the ROM, It should work. Id it was a problem with ROM, Slim people must have resolved it by now in latest iterations.
Hope it works.
I just flashed the stock image upgrading my Nexus to 6.0 MRA58K and for the most part love it but I have one issue that is driving me nuts and google isn't helping me.
I use GoSMS as my texting app. If the phone is awake, I get the pop up and ringtone notification when I get a text, but when the phone is asleep and I receive a text, the screen will wake up briefly showing the message but not ringtone. I have gone in to apps and set GoSMS as priority and gone through all sorts of settings to try and get it figured out with no success. Meanwhile if I get an email or even a tapatalk notification when the phone is sleeping, I will get the screen waking up and the notification ringtone just fine. I have a custom ringtone for GOSMS only so don't know if that has anything to do with it.
Anybody else run into this or know what could fix the issue?
