Thank you amit, glad to have you still posting new builds for us.
Without you and deliberate, our phones would be as bland as the other variants.

Computer is working.. Not even chrome worked on my phone.. I've seen a lot about this ROM over at G+
I am getting a "com.android.systemui" loop on start up I can not get past. It seems my only option is to force into TWRP and restore a nanroid. Did anyone else come across this issue?

Yes, full wipe and clean flash. I tried a 2nd time with the same result even after a 2nd download in case the 1st was bad. "As he scratches his head."

No idea then, what gapps? I used banks minimal 7-29.
Just want to say so far this ROM is really smooth, and this is the first cm based ROM I've seen that does not have screen redraws in low signal area.
Pumped as hell to test this over the weekend.

Wanted to check if a full wipe and install over a stock 24a with root plus TWRP 2.7.0.0 will suffice? No special pre-commands?
Much thanks for all your work, have this running on my daughter's S3 and it's like ghost lightning!

Maybe this is a stupid and/or obvious question but since I've had my G2 I've only been using stock ROMs, but does KnockOn/Off work on AOSP ROMs? I am leaning towards no but want to make sure. Knock-On has almost become second nature now to me. The crack flasher inside me though is startng to get itchy.

Knock on yes, knock off only works on the status bar for aosp.
You can use a third party launcher apex/nova in conjunction with a screen off and lock app and set it for double tap home screen, and its the same thing.
That does not get you knock off on the lock screen, but there's options for that, pic related.
I use pattern for lock screen so anywhere on the three by three area you double tap, it screens off

Interesting. I think I'm gonna flash this then and give it a go. Thanks!
Here's a stupid ? Where's the default music app,and also,how do i add more home screens? TIA
OK, finally was able to flash this rom, I think I figured out my issue. I like to remove apps I know I will not use before flashing the rom, it seems on this rom, it does not like when you do that...
Has anyone noticed loud distorted sounds from the ringtones and notifications? Normally I have my selections maxed and they never seam loud enough on most AOSP, CM etc.. roms, now they seem so distorted that I have to lower the volume level to half.

Mein as well... enjoy folks, let me know how it runs! Tested on CDMA Photon Q (xt897), should work fine for other msm8960 moto's.
NFC, BT, turn on but are untested. Wifi works great, as does 3g.
I use PA gapps, but any 4.4.2 gapps should work. Enjoy!
If you folks have issues (I'm expecting an issue with the home button) let me know!
Thank you @arrrghhh as always. And glad to see you supporting our device. Will test and let you know
Im also having Home button not working issue, long press on home brings up the google cirlce.
Battery isnt great, similar to probam/cyanfox/validus.
best battery life i got was on pure speed, but there's no new update on that rom
I dont have arrrghhh kernel

I had to update the home key on my device. I didn't want to update it on the other devices without confirming for sure it was broken...
I'll get them on gerrit tonight. Assuming they get merged, next nightly should have it.

All of the msm8960 (non-DT) moto's use the same common kernel - so Atrix HD, Razr HD, Razr M, Photon Q. The new moto's (X, new DROID's Mini/Maxx/Ultra) or the msm8960dt's are a different SoC.
I support Carbon on all the msm8960 moto's, so supporting Gummy on all shouldn't be an issue

If, sometime in the future, you don't have too many projects going on, could you try to get an Omni build?
I tried it once, but got an error (everyone was getting it at the time), tried to get it to re-sync but it wouldn't because it wasn't initialized or something so reset the init, then re-ran envsetup, then tried to sync or build again but it wouldn't work no matter how much redundancy it had, so I just gave up... I'm not very patient...

I built Omni for the Photon Q... let's just say a) it was a pain. b) it didn't boot. I had people helping, and I had to revert 3 commits from the kernel... then it booted but was HORRIBLY slow.
I figured there was a lot missing for the msm8960's in general, or at least the motos. I might give it another go, but last I tried, it was not exactly "ready" for our devices. Too many changes were needed to just get it working!
Home key still broken on today's with clean flash.
Also is this the actual AOSP keyboard or is it a relabeled Google keyboard? I don't remember the AOSP keyboard having swipe.

EDIT: Also I just learned about the 2-finger swipe a few days ago so it took me a while to type that.

Damn, the commit is in qcom-common, and it "appears" like it went in before the nightly ran...
Perhaps I need to put the change in all the device trees...
Edit - just had a thought, those of you which tested the old vs. new... did you clean or dirty flash? Try clean flashing...

I tried both clean and dirty and it was the same. Also I can't delete the boot animation. It says it's a read only filesystem and I can't change permissions. Using ES File.

/* Changelog (Top is the newest bottom is the oldest) */
06-11-2014 { offical pa changlog here. As for my changes just updates from cm for our device if you wanna look just go and look on my github kitkat stuff will be slowing down as work starts shifting over to lollipop. Asking when its done/coming will make it take longer. }
09-02-14 {
Here are Pa's changes in their own changlog thread/post just click me. As for our device changes I've merged in the latest fixes for msm8960 as well as fixed msm8960_jbbl. So whether your moto did or didn't get the 4.4.2 offical update it should be appearing there eventually if it's supported by cm.}
06-02-14 {
Haven't updated this changelog cause I'm lazy. Check pa's page for their changes as for our devices included in moto_msm8960 I've been pulling in upstream changes from dhacker + cm as of TODAY 06-02-14 the patches for 3.4 kernel has been pushed so you will need to update your bootloader to stock 4.4.2. Simply backup or setup flash the ota and then flash the newest paranoidandroid. }
03-27-14 {
Everything is working exepct nfc won't turn off from settings.
And included gestures on by default & extra keys from cm in aosp keyboard. [If you want it just check that you don't flash gapps that replace keyboard.]
Let me know if anything else does't work, post here NOT on paranoid's G+ page
}
Edit : My bad I did not read about the unified thing!

Yeah, peek first build is the 0327. Mine is working without issues. Didn't tried ART yet but it seems PA don't recommend it. Nevermind, it's the usual warning from CM and PA. I'm switching to it now to do some testing.
I heard peek was wakelocking and draining battery awfully, any comments on how is working now?

I can't be really objective yet because I had this installed 1 day ago. Didn't noticed an "awfully battery draining" but it could be better. We're awared how keeping peek active could impact on battery performance because those 10 sec sensor window. It has some issues already, sometimes sensors won't respond and it won't wake up when you pick it up. But peek is on beta yet and all-in-all is working as espected.
So I flashed the 3/27 build and idk if I'm missing something but I have like no options...no extra goodies no peek no pie seemed like stock KitKat so I restored my previous ROM, I'm still interested in trying this seemed smooth just no extra tweaks or settings on my end...am I the only one with this issue? Clean wipe flashed through twrp wiped cache and all that jazz lol

Also, probably a very dumb question. but does coming from the unofficial AOSPA build count as coming from a different ROM (AKA require a factory reset?) or is just a system/cache wipe okay.

Gotta admit this has much more customization then I thought it would. Booted up fine, and so far everything I've tested is working well.
Thanks for sharing the build.
so far so good here as well, nice and fast!

Hell yeah, I played around with the slim lp that offers support and it worked out well. Some layers are built specifically for certain ROMs. Simple aosp ect...
But I've used three different ones now that work great.
They even have custom nav colors and such which the theme engine can't do yet.
Pumped as hell you built this and shared.
Everything working great! Very smooth and tons of options. Built-in layers is a nice touch as well. Awesome job!
SIM card has not been detected on GSM

Correct. It uses jackpotclavins kernel
Working good so far, but anyone else notice the roaming bug?
I tried both Global and LTE only network settings but still get the R instead of LTE (or 3G....I should have LTE connection where I am right now)
26A modem, after using a flashable zip to update the modem only (when I was on KK I used XDABBEBs bootstack to upgrade, then downgraded the modem to 12B to use Lollipop, now upgraded to 26A modem by flashable zip)
Thanks in advance.

Thanks.. For some reason anything that still requires that radio gives me a black screen of death.
Because of this, I kinda gave up on lollipop a few weeks ago. Pretty excited to give this a whirl.

After a random reboot I have LTE and Verizon Wireless!
Edit: layers is awesome!
Am I using layers wrong?
While its nice that everything seems uniformly "themed", is it just me or is it a massive PITA to sit there and enable one layer at a time?

I didn't have a random reboot, I rebooted on purpose right after the initial data Roaming issue when I turned off Data Roaming in settings. After that, every subsequent reboot (about 6 now) it has stuck on LTE.

Solve it? It doesn't make sense to you that a new operating system would use more energy than the previous?
I mean this is exactly what happened from jelly bean to kitkat.

Even if it did happen with those two version of Android (which idk if it did, kit kat seems the same or better to me), it's far from a rule. New OS update doesn't always mean more power hungry.

Pretty much. If you didn't get to use jelly bean in its prime, it was crazy. Battery life was better, so this precise thing happened. People wanted to roll back to it until eventually everyone just bit the bullet and stayed with kit kat.
After its been out for a while, some things will be better, custom kernels ect... Minor optimization increases, but I wouldn't expect the same or better battery life than what kit kat was.
Its not even official released for everyone, give it time.

Sorry, your premise is baseless, while what you're saying about those particular versions of Android is correct, it does not constitute a "rule" as the previous post said. Windows 8.1 for example. Not trying to start an argument, just saying newer operating system versions do not as a rule consume more power.

I misread his post, I didn't notice he said rule. And also didn't realize he was disagreeing with me, so my post means differently than what I intended, also the a in my original post was supposed to be a "the".
It makes sense to me that lollipop consumes more battery than kitkat because kitkat used more than jelly bean on this phone. This was also the case with my old xt912.
I'm not sure why you made the assumption that I feel this way about any electronic that runs an operating system because I didn't. This is a phone forums we are on no?
Surprised that I had that many mistakes in a row with my posting, but equally surprised how critically my posts were taken to try and initiate a debate on opinions.
If you don't feel my opinion is correct based off what we have already experienced on this phone, that's perfectly fine, but this isn't the place for debates.

I'm on a roll with screw ups tonight and I made an assumption, so let me word this correctly.
If you are on the 4.4 bootloader, as in you flash your cloudy ROM with a bumped kernel, not a loki'd kernel, then yes, you can clean flash it.
If you are on the 4.2 bootloader, you need to flash the 27a, 28a, or 39a bootstack, so you get put on the 4.4 bootloader with a bumped recovery.
I don't think 2.7.0 was being used when bump was introduced, so I'm pretty sure my assumption of you being on the 4.2 bootloader is correct. Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong
All u need bootstack 27a or higher.

Fair enough, I'm glad you could explain. But at the same time you try to call me out saying I made an assumption. I only commented on the words you wrote. An assumption would have been me assuming you meant phone operating systems only.

Just a suggestion, but you can setup up your zip with all the bootstack files from 39A (using the 27A bootloader, and persist.img). Then it won't matter what recovery, or what bootstack the user is currently on. It's an all in one zip where no separate bootstack needs to be flashed. All they have to do is wipe dalvik cache, system, data, and cache before flashing. That's how I have mine setup, and it works great.
Quick Remote?
Did you strip out Quick Remote? I haven't had any coffee, but I don't see it.

yes, can you please make the stock apps as separate addons?
i liked quickremote, memo/memo+ and quick translator.
thanks!!
I also would like the QRemote application available. I like when you get all the LG apps in a big ZIP and can delete the ones you don't want then flash the zip. That method works great.
Can't get those apps to install on zip. Flash full stock rom and then flash my extreme theme.
